Does McClain's pick 6 remind you of the pick 6 from the Dolphin's game?
Does McClain's penetration remind you of anyone?

McClain looks like a replica of Terrell Suggs. If we keep the 3-4, I'd love to have a Terrell Suggs on the weak and strong side.

Actually in the 4-3 you'll have both Suggs and McClain rushing from the same side at times.

That would slide protection to that side of the field. Then maybe have Barnes and Pryce coming from the other end. Sounds pretty good to me.

Well we could assume, if we go back to a 4-3, Suggs will be asked to play RDE.

He seems to have a nose for the ball - and that is exactly what we need in this defense. Any defense for that matter! We can afford to be aggressive though, we have a strong secondary so can send lots of rushers after the QB.

Ozzie seems to have a knack for finding guys with a nose for the ball, it is that very thing that makes our defense absolutely feared around the league... not the huge hits, not the beat down sacks, but the turnovers, no team is safe when they are on the field.
The 2011 Ravens Defense could be the best we have ever seen... at least through week 1

Yea Prescott has made a statement to make this team. These are some highly anticipated cuts coming and I'm sure we aren't going to agree with a decision about to be made.

No doubt, it's gonna be tough to let any of these guys go. Don't players have to pass through wavers before they can be put on the practice squad? I hope I'm wrong on that, because someone will pick up the LB's we cut.

Sadly, you're right. That's how we "lost" Derek Anderson.

Well i think he is overrated - by ravens fans at least. First, he has skill at OLB and pass rushing. He is a playmaker, but you have to choose wisely and put him in the right situations. He is not starting caliber. And he is definitely not a MLB. Just because you lose Bart Scott, doesn't mean you grab some DE who made some STs plays and convert him to MLB immediately. I mean we have a draft pick who played MLB for years at Miami and another excellent MLB we stole later in the draft his year behind him. Use McClain for his actual talent, and put him on the outside in the right situations and get some plays out of him, but don't start overrating him as a serious starting MLB.

Imo this is what will make McClain so valuable once he gets a lot more comfortable. Right now the Ravens are grooming him to be able to play every LB position.

He won't be the starting ILB this year, but he will see a lot of time there.

You can't ignore that fact that this guy has been all over the field in the 2 preseason games. Has he made mistakes? Of course, but he has also shown the potential to be a play maker for the Ravens.

Also McClain seems to be a really quick study. In game one he was a little indecisive and was thinking too much.

In game 2 he was much more agressive and direct. He attacked the LOS much better and despite the TD was pretty good in coverage.

The Ravens will find every way possible to get him on the field, but mainly as a pass rusher.

McClain was all over the field Monday, especially in the second half. I don't if he can separate himself from Gooden and Barnes but they should make an incredible 3-man LB rotation.

The confusion probably stems from the fact that McClain is obviously good; yet didn't play much because of the talent in front of him. People were probably indicating he has great potential - which he has shown - and that, I believe, has been misinterpreted as people over-rating him by others.

Well said.
And I agree, I seriously doubt anyone outside of Baltimore even knows his name.

Although, I will say this, he has definitely shown flashes of potential. He has a role on this team for sure, we just need to figure out exactly what that role is.

There are a lot of players that people outside of baltimore don't know about. That doesn't mean the guy is over rated.

It's still people outside of Baltimore that don't know Kelly Gregg. You still here some analyst say Hiloti NaGota, instead of Haloti Ngata. There are people outside of Baltimore that know Leonhard, but never heard of Landry.

Guys like AD and Scott, didn't start getting national attention until they were scheduled to become Free Agents.

The point is that Baltimore is small when it comes to media coverage. So unless you are a superstar, a 1st round pick, a future HOFer, or scheduled become a big named FA, the chances are people outside of Baltimore don't know you.

I don't think McClain is over rated by fans at all. He has been making plays and that is what you ask of any defender. Most fans are just excited to see and UDFA guy show signs of being a keeper.

Guys that turn into Pro Bowl guys have to start somewhere. Right now we are seeing young guys who have that potential and the potential to be able to help this team.

That is all apart of what makes preseason exciting for a guy like me. I like to see the Martin's, the McClains, the Bugress', the Nakamura's, the Harper's and so on.

Like you said he will have a role on this team. At this point he is a third down rusher, but his role could definately expand.
