Yea but he looked real good falling on the ground trying to tackle Ray Rice lol

Looked familiar to what we saw him do last year didn't it? Bart is great when his job is to just come in like a mad man and take up a block or rush the QB but when he has to make a play on the ball carrier he seems to miss A LOT, and he's not great in coverage.

I always thought that Scott was better than average in coverage. That is why replacing him with the speedy Gooden makes sense. We need one LB that can consistently stay with pass protection, or else we will get burned by TE's and such. Scott was the guy last year, Gooden is the guy this year.

Athletes aren't paid to talk, so they should just keep their mouths shut.
Actually yes they are paid to talk. In most contracts they sign it is stated they have to give a certain amount of interviews to the press.

You guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I am sure a lot of guys looked at Rex as the HC when a questionable pick up like Harbaugh was. I mean he was a secondary coach who took a job everyone though Rex wanted. Before we saw Harbaugh's traning camp and coaching style no one was really too excited for this guy.

Rex loves being in control, and he's molding the Jets after himself: they're becoming a nasty, arrogant team who run their mouths off and can't back it up. Bart's comments show why Rex wanted him so bad, he likes Scott's cocky attitude on and off the field. It's hard to take Bart Scott seriously considering his reputation, and I think Harbaugh's proven he's in control of the team. Let the Jets talk all they want, at this point it's all hot air.

Maybe one day Scott will do his talking on the field like Ray did last night
I've said this since he left Baltimore, "The rest of the football world will now see Scott is an average player without the rest of the Ravens around him." I have no idea how much playing time he got in their first two games, but he has exactly 0 tackles and 0 assists.

Honestly, who cares about Bart Scott? Now that he's in New York, he can miss tackles in green instead of purple. He whiffed on Ray Rice and let him pick up first-down yardage on a third down. It reminded me, vividly, of last year.

Gotta love how much money that he got. What a dumb signing by the Jets. 48 million? Really? Too funny. T Good and McClain will fill his spot no problem.

Rex Ryan was and will not be the only defensive coordinator for the Raven's people. The Raven's had a top 5 defense before him, so why would we not have one after him. As far as Bart Scott goes, sounds like typical Mad Backer talk to me, it is mind over matter, I don't Mind cause it does not Matter.

Yup, add another to the list of linebackers we've "replaced" without any problems:
Jamie Sharper
Peter Boulware
Ed Hartwell
Adalius Thomas
and now Bart Scott.

Scott to me looked good. He was hitting the hole with a attitude, but he looked just like he did here, a weak side backer that was taking on the Blockers. But he did have some great shots at Flacco.

All Bart and Rex do is talk about Baltimore. I think both of them love Baltimore but I also think they have bitterness towards us. Bart was the shadow to Ray, and Rex diddnt get the job he thought he deserved.

But anyone else read that Ray Lewis diddnt go greet Rex Ryan? Anyone think its bitterness towards Rex bringing on Bart Scott instead of him?

I think Ray has always been genuine about wanting to retire a Raven.

Johnny Unitas to San Diego? Emmitt Smith to Arizona? Joe Montana to Kansas City? Hell, Brett Favre to New York and Minnesota?

They never turn out well, and are regrettable decisions in the end.

Scott did play well, but you must keep in mind that in last night's game Rex designed 2/3's of those blitzes specifically for Scott to get to Flacco. This was more personal strategy aimed at Baltimore and I'd be willing to bet Scott wont be the main rusher in the season. I think Rex will finally utilize Gholston the proper way and have him getting pressure on the QB.

I don't think we should cloud boundaries between on field talent and off field comments, whilst I respect Bart as a player and often stuck up for him as a Raven, I'm not going to defend silly comments anymore.

I don't think this is by any means outrageous, I'm just saying its uncalled for really. Why can't the Jets focus on themselves rather than dissecting our team and coaching staff?
IF he said it the way the article makes it seem like he said it, then imo its probably just a ploy to give Rex crediability as a HC. Why else would he need to point that out, whether its true or not?

I honestly dont believe it is. John Harbaugh calls the shots. Rex Ryan didnt bench McAlister after a horrid performance and breaking team rules, Harbaugh did. Thats all the proof I need.

The only way we were going to keep Rex Ryan was to promote him to head coach. Imagine if we had Rex Ryan and Cam Cameron oh wait we did. The Jet are definitely a playoff team because of that defense Rex generated. I guess we will see how well we do in his absence him

So far: Shut-out and 2 TD picks (against below average offense).

I'm concerned how well our defense will perform against an aggressive offense. Jets defense was spectacular yesterday, now I know what it is like having Rex on the other team.

Speak for yourself. I for one was very pleased to have Harbaugh as our HC, once it was clear that we didnt want Rex.

I'm sure there wasnt an intention to bring down Harbaugh. But really Bart, you and Rex have been running your big mouths and saying stupid stuff. Stop talking about your old team and talk about your new one.

It must have been clear to you. The Jets are going to have a top five defense because of Rex Ryan. I'm not sure what Harbaugh brings to the team except discipline and injuries.

Oop maybe I shouldn't have said that.

I am also one that was excited when we brought Harbs in. Discipline is something we need after the Billick era. Billick let the veterans run amok.

Rex Ryan bring the Jets to a top 5 Defense? Just like Marvin Lewis did with the Bengals, or Mike Nolan in San Fran? Rex is just another D coordinator to us. Ray Lewis is the core during all of these D Cords.

Injuries have have been prevalent even before Harbaugh. Look at our 5-11 season in 2007.

Maybe not, but from some of you it isn't unexpected. If you can't see what else Harbaugh brings to the team, then you don't know football and you haven't seen the difference in this team.

Marvin Lewis, Mike Nolan, Rex Ryan....

Ed Hartwell, Jamie Sharper, Bart Scott....

And the ball keeps rolling as you see last night. Maybe one of these guys will finally realize it isn't them that keeps this ship going.

You are lying or a complete fool to think, at the time, that Harbaugh was the best guy for the job. No one even knew who he was. Yes, he worked out to be a great caoch but at the time no one was 100% sold on the guy until OTAs started and we saw what kind of football team he ran.

That's like saying the Redskins fans were thrilled when Jim Zorn got the coaching job or Tom Cable.

C'mon now, Child Please.

I gotta say, I was all for Rex being promoted to head coach last year after Billick got fired, mostly because the players were in favor of it. I was fuming after Steve and Ozzie picked some secondary coach from Philly who nobody had ever heard of. Then I realized that harbaugh's system of discipline and putting nobody above the team was getting results. any doubts that may have been lingering in my head vanished into thin air after I heard big ol' Rex shoot his moth off at his former team and act like the Jets were suddenly Super Bowl contenders without having proven a thing yet. Plus I'm pretty confident that Greg Mattison will have as much difficulty replacing Rex as Rex did replacing Nolan. Good riddance, Rex. Nice knowin ya, but god am I thankful we didn;t pick you a year ago...

Not at all. It just goes to show how much Rex has been running his mouth. It could be any number of things:
1) Rex basically saying that Bart was a better player then Ray.
2) Rex trying to take credit for our defenses success.
3) All the smack talking Rex did before this game.

My hunch is on #2. If you watched that interview Ray did with Sal Pal, he made it clear that this defense was his and he's the one consistant, when Sal asked him about Rex Ryan leaving.

My posts are all still there hun, go see for yourself. Once it was clear that Rex wasnt going to be the guy, I was in favor of hiring Harbaugh. Let me guess, you wanted Jason Garrett instead?

First, wanted to say I'm saddened after reading your sig....I miss C-Mac!

Anyway, how can you call someone a fool for being in favor of bringing in Harbs? I, like most of us, had no clue who the hell he was, but I DO know what type of people Oz and Biscotti are, and I trust their judgment 100% especially when it comes to coaching/management personnel (yes, even after the Billick ordeal). So to call whoever a fool for believing in Harbs is essentially calling Oz and Biscotti fools as well. 'N dems fightin' wurds round here!

As for Bart's comments, who really gives a crap?
Bart's mouth and personality is something that made him such a joy to have here; almost made me forget how he rode Ray's and Sizzle's coattails to glory.
Besides, I think he was just being honest, not disrespectful.
