I'll say that he isnt that far off. I mean Cam called the offense and Rex called the defense. I have been at a lot of jobs where there has been a head boss but I would consider my boss to be the guy who tells me what to do. Plus Rex was the assistant. I am not saying he was right by saying this because Harbs was obviously the head coach but I can see where he is coming from.

Our team last year was powered to success 75% by defense. Rex was majority responsibility for the teams success amongst the coaching staff.

Was it a dumb comment? Yes. Was it accurate? pretty much. Harbs was new to the locker room and was guided by Rex and cam and of course Rex since he was a raven for the past 10 years...just to note.

It undermines Harbaugh, and I don't like that. So to me, whether its true or not, its not necessary or his business anymore.

Rex Ryan was and will not be the only defensive coordinator for the Raven's people. The Raven's had a top 5 defense before him, so why would we not have one after him. As far as Bart Scott goes, sounds like typical Mad Backer talk to me, it is mind over matter, I don't Mind cause it does not Matter.

I respect Bart Scott so I respect his opinions. I am not in that lockerroom so I don't know whats going on but when a player like Suggs comes out and talks about Troy Smith deserving to be the starter or the fact that a guy has been with a team for 10 years, I really understand why Bart can say that statement. It's not exactly like Harbs calls the plays! But he does hold himself to a demanding training camp and has the team act in such a demeanor on and off the field. I would say John is more like the principal and Rex Ryan is more like the Guidance Counsler.

I don't think we should cloud boundaries between on field talent and off field comments, whilst I respect Bart as a player and often stuck up for him as a Raven, I'm not going to defend silly comments anymore.

I don't think this is by any means outrageous, I'm just saying its uncalled for really. Why can't the Jets focus on themselves rather than dissecting our team and coaching staff?

I guess Mike Pettine must be their head coach now since their offense doesn't work. Or maybe it's Westhoff since special teams is their best unit.

I believe Bart meant to say that Rex ran the defense, and the defense ran the Ravens, so therefore Rex ran the Ravens.

I mean to say that Bart Scott is a confrontational loudmouth whose already large ego has been inflated by being brought to New York and handed an embarrassingly large contract.

Rex Ryan's attitude since becoming head coach has been an absolute joke and he is almost certainly digging his own grave.

We had the chance to hire Rex Ryan as our head coach, but unfortunately for him, Ryan didn't meet the Ravens' standard.

Move along, Rex.

The defense leads that team over there, and he controls the defense.
I agree with Ravnet. He's saying that since Rex ran the defense and Baltimore IS defense, that, in effect, Rex ran the Ravens.

Still, it's an inappropriate comment.

The Jets, especially Rex and Bart, need to stop commenting constantly about the Ravens. It just makes them look like they feel inferior and that their talk is just to bolster their lack of confidence [or maybe productivity]. If they feel like they have the coach and player that "made" the Ravens, then they need to get out there and prove it and stop talking about it. It's time to move on, Bart and Rex.

Yes it was a dumb comment and it wasn't accurate. Mike Preston and Baltimoresun company just said how the chemistry in the Ravens locker room is at an all time high. Scott's comment implies that we would fall apart after Ryan left. I officially hate the Jets second to the Steelers. All the Jets do is talk and don't back it up. The truth is our first string took a number 2 on their face and that's all that matters. And Oher and Yanda hit Scott. Maybe they hit him too hard and he started saying dumb stuff like this

Its stupid either way you look at it. If Rex was so great at running a football team then why did the Ravens go out and hire Harbaugh instead of promoting Rex Ryan to be the head coach?

Both Bart and Rex need to move on and worry about the Jets and stop worrying so much about the Ravens. It's really quite "sad".
