Yeah, our "no QB" has an 11-4 record vs. Pittsburgh

Keep living in the past if that makes you feel better. Great he's 11-4. That record was built as a Titan, not as a Raven. McNair is as good as done... He's a 34 year old QB who can't stay healthy anymore. He doesn't scare me one bit.

Fine, he's 2-0 as a Raven

Does that make you feel better?

As a matter of fact it does. You're defense was the reason you swept us last year, Not McNair. McNair hasn't "beaten" us with his arm in years.

Really?

Because I distinctly recall him throwing a 71% comp pct., 396 yds, 4 TDs, and having a 100.3 QB rating against you

hmmm

I guess he did nothing to help us win

Steve made great throws to Clayton (over Polamalu's head), Williams (also over Polamalu's head) and Heap in the 2 games

I love how you left the 2 ints out. I never said he did nothing did I? I didn't think so. What I did say is that he didn't "win" those games for you. Your "D" gave up 7 points in 2 games against us... it's pretty obvious who won those games for you. I know deep down that you know that also, but I like your thinking anyway. Devils advocate. :P

The TEAM won the game

Not the Defense

Not McNair

THE TEAM

A minute ago you were bragging about McNairs record vs. the Steelers, now it's the team. Make up your mind bro. You're on the right track though, it is the team. However, a rookie nobody could have won those games as well as your defense played. It's not a bash on McNair it's just being realistic. You could've won those games just as easily if Boller had started... your "D" was lights out.

Forget about it. The ravens are old beat up and have NO offense to speak of. Your living off your old laurles. Ray Ray is nothing anymore. You are going to be made a fool of on MNF GO STEELERS

I love when Steelers fans talk about how old we are.... Rays old.. Pryce is old... McAlister has more years then them.... Laundry not old... Reed not old... Scott not old..... Gregg not old.. Ngata not old... Suggs not old... Johnson not old... Ivy not so old.. Hmmm most of the defense is not old.

Lets look at the offense.

Ok McNair old but not playing much... Ogden old but not playing... Mason old... Boller not... McGahee not... Flynn (meh).. the rest of the line 3 of which are ROOKIES except for Brown.. but still not old. You have Clayton not old... Green not old... Heap not old...

Well there you go... not so many players are old on our team... but I guess our team is just Ray which is old... which would make our team old...

NOT... Think it over bud.

I can't say they are all great.. because not all of them are.. but not all of them are old.

we have a good core of players if you really think about it, we Have the Seasoned Veterans out there, AND we have young players that are still learning and Rookie players that are eager to prove themselves and one's in which the Veterans are more than happy to Teach them everything they know to help them become better football players. and when a veteran player goes down to due an illness or injury, the young/rookie players step in and try to fill the viod, meanwhile gaining Valuable Playing experience that will help them in the long run to develop into Great players for us.

so if you think about it we have a Good team all in all.

The young players can learn alot from the vets, now if we can get Billick to hold their feet to the fire. They come to this team fired up and ready to play. but after working for Billick, they get soft, and forget why they are making all of that money. I want to see our players play well in a game than looking good in a commercial.

Respect is earned, not freely given. I agree that the lack of respect for the Ravens displayed by both the retired Steelers and the ESPN announcers during the game was disheartening. However, the Ravens brought this on themselves. If you go on national television and play like a the JV squad at a bad high school football program, do not expect to be praised. The offense was so lame it was almost comical. Towards the end, the one to two yard pass attempts were hard to understand. It was a rough, hard hitting game as it always is against the Steelers. However, if you're going to play, play to win or at least pretend like it. If you're going to quit, take the team off the field, or take a knee or run draws up the center until its time to punt. The logic of throwing 2 yard passes when you need 15 or more for a first down and you're losing by 31 points just made no sense to me. I say almost comical for a reason. Players were getting injuried and we weren't even trying to win or make a first down or even save face. It was a just an offensive farce and failed to be comical because it was TRAGIC.

However, all that being said, I think one needs to be said that I haven't seen posted on any of these threads. THE DEFENSE NEVER QUIT. DESPITE A VERY DISAPPOINTING FIRST HALF, THE DEFENSE CAME OUT IN THE SECOND HALF AND PLAYED LIKE THEY CARED. Its hard to find much about that awful game to praise, however, I think the defense really did well in the second half. THEY DID BALTIMORE PROUD.

My third comment is a request. If anyone from the team actually reads these posts, which I doubt, please do a favor for a loyal fan. I anticipate some hard days of being a Ravens fan in the coming days. The Patriots.....the Colts.......tough, tough games ahead. Maybe we can turn the season around, maybe we can't. As a fan, I can accept a losing season. I can accept rebuilding. However, even if we lose every game from here on out, when those SOB's come down from Pittsburgh in December, please do not allow a repeat of the MNF game. Respect is earned. When the Steelers come to B-more, make Big Ben respect you. GET A LITTLE PAYBACK FROM THE STEELERS IN DECEMBER. Do that, and everything else is just gravy.....

I think we earned it with 3 straight wins against your sorry Squealers.

And, oh yeah, 58-7

BOOMSHAKAHLAHKAH!

Great start on that sweep of the Steelers. You've got to understand you're not dealing with last years Steerlers. Ben started the year healthy this time. You guys need to stop living in the past. I think it's time you realize that you're going to finish 3rd this year behind the Steelers and the Browns. You might have been able to win with McNair 10 years ago, but isn't he like 60 years old now?

...says the fan of the team with all the former players of years past on the sidelines last night, and the throwback uniforms, and the fanfare surrounding past teams...hmm...

 So I guess you guys are saying that if you could have kept the Colts in town, you wouldn't have celebrated any of thier major anniversaries?

Defense??? Defense???? That and our kicker is the only thing that has ever been consistently good on our team and i'm sick of it. It's not their job to score points and you can't come back and win with out scoring points! Like Ray Lewis said after the game 'don't ask me about that, I play defense'. Which is why I think maybe we shoulod play ironman football. Where the defense also plays on offense and visa versa. They're on the field as much anyway why can't they try to score cause the offense we have isn't doin a damn thing except embarresing themselves and Baltimore fans around the nation. Ed Reed can be quarterback, C-Mac can be another reciever, Ray can be TE, Suggs can be RB, we need Gregg Pryce Bannan and Ngata on that O line.

PS: I'm not attacking your comment about how well our defense played the second half. They were awesome. I'm just saying, in general, how sick I am of being a one dimensional team. We put everything on the defenses shoulders to win EVERY game when it is the offenses #1 priotity and the defense should be their supporting cast to enable us to keep our lead. If we could stay healthy score 17 points and let our defense rest we'd be 8-0!

The Browns, Lions, Bengals, Texans, and Bills have better offenses than us and there is no reason we can't be better when we have far better players.

I think those "experts" will be speaking differently after we sweep the Steelers and finish our division 4-2.

You can't sweep a team that already beat you

We have to earn respect in this league - & we have proven to be a sub par team at best. A good defense - but not great (& aging fast)

An offense that cannot move the ball at all.

Thats why we are not a good team & have not earned other teams respect.

its good that we're the under dogs teh Ravens Team, Takes pride in being teh "under dog" week after week. that way it gives them added motivation, the inner drive to win and beyond beyond the physical limitations

Do they not have enough motivation:

1. Millions of $$$$

2. Try to beat a divisional opponent

3. Playoffs

4. Superbowl

5. Pro Bowl

6. Not get embarrased on national TV

7. Prove the critics wrong who from week 1 said we are pretenders.

At some point this teams should have shown up by now. I want them to be good but the fact is they aren't. Maybe age, injuries, but really all are excuses. They are either good or not & unfortunately it is looking like the critics are right.

I find it funny we keep hearing from Billick & the team how good they are but they never show it. Maybe it's time we realize experts are experts for a reason - they know what they are saying  . Nationally & locally almost all are saying it - this team is not good (& all teams deal with injuries - its the good teams that overcome it) so we should all wake up are realize it. I also think Newsome has some blame here for not finding us the QB of the future & lack of depth in the secondary.

But after all that is what is great about football - there is always next year.

yea and if youve noticed which im sure you have they dont give the ravens much airtime, why is that. but i think the steelers are playing beyond them selfs . a few injuries which the ravens have had plenty they will look more like the bengals.
