Did Ray Go To Midfield After The Game?

21 posts in this topic

Well, did he go out there to meet and greet with the Jets once the game ended? Looked like he headed straight for the locker room.

I saw that too. I'm sure he would have exchanged pleasantries with the Jets player and Rex postgame at some point - probably away from cameras, that would have drawn quite a media circus.

I dont know what that was about. But, if it involved Tom Brady or Peyton Manning leaving the field after a game against their previous coach, the media would'v been all over it. Rex's recent comments have caused enuff of a frenzy. Im glad that the so-called experts didn't make much of it!

Don't take much out of this, he probably had to take a dump or something. I am sure he either greeted Rex and the crew before the game or did it after the game underground in the lockerrooms. but I will say at the time I was like "what the heck" too. Ray has always been a guy to walk on the field after a game.

LOL, was not expecting to view that as a reason...

I noticed it, too. I can't imagine that Ray meant to snub Rex and the rest of the Jets, so there must have been some reason for it.

looked like on one play Ray got a little shaken up. Maybe he was getting something checked out?

It just looked like he had the wind knocked out of him for a second because he looked fine the next play and was walking around the sidelines joking and such.

Yeah but were talking about Ray going and greeting a Coach he said that he loved. The more I think about it, and Ive said it in another thread, Ray said he would to play for Rex again. But Rex contacted Bart and diddnt even make a attempt for Ray. I think he has some bitter feelings.

I wouldn't have minded if Ray snubbed the Jets. This is one of those rare instances where I'm calling for unsportsmanlike conduct. Rex Ryan came into Baltimore, thumping his chest, acting as if his team was Baltimore South -- and his starters fell flat on their faces. It took his starters playing against backups for a drive or two to get them back into the game, and then the rest of his backups capitalizing on stupid penalties and mistakes to nearly tie the game.

For all the talk that Rex Ryan did (albeit limited compared to how much he's said to other teams), he didn't back it up. And for that (to borrow a line from ESPN): C'MON, MAN! -_-

Or you could borrow Chad OchoCinco's line: Child Please!

There might have been more to Ray's departure. Ray is focused on this year's team, and you don't have to look very deep to find a reason for him to depart without the post-game pleasantries.

You know, I thought something was weird. It wasn't exactly like he was injured, but it was something. This explanation fits the
expression and body language of what I saw. Thanks.

It doesn't bother me one way or the other. I can't imagine Ray didn't talk to Rex at least in the pre-game. On the other hand, Ed Reed was very talkative to Rex before and after the game. But for all the little swipes at our team that Rex has taken, and for Bart Scott's comments after the game about Rex being the head coach last year, and for the media making such a big deal about Mark Sanchez making his first start and not really giving us any love, I give all of them one big EPIC FAIL!

That was my thought, if he was even slighty hurt in a pre season I think he would have comeout. He did go right to the locker room and I'm sure there was a reason,we just may never know.

Well technically his job isn't over the instant the game ends; irrespective of this, I'm sure it was not because of any negativity between himself and Rex.

I don't undertand the modern fan's propensity for praising exlayers and coaches or even liking them, Rod Woodson said it correctly during his HOF speech, "The fan's in Pittsburgh booed me when I came into the stadium, and they should have."

The other team is the enemy during the season, they are the enemy reguardless of their disposition in the past or the future, now they are the enemy. When the career is over then they are no longer the enemy and should be recognized for their efforts, but while they play, they are the ENEMY.

I only view them as the enemy if they join a division rival. Otherwise, they're just non-existent. Case-in-point: Jamal Lewis vs. Adalius Thomas. I loved AD, and when he joined the Pats, I still wished him all the best in terms of individual success. Lewis, on the other hand, chose to go to the Browns rather than Cleveland being a last resort. To choose to go to a division rival indicates that you have a desire to upstage your former teammates twice a year -- not something I take lightly. Sure, I love Jamal for his 2,000+ yard rushing season in 2003, but as long as he's in Cleveland, he's dead to me.

As for Bart Scott, I love his play but I hate his mouth now that he's in NY. He and Rex Ryan, just for right now, mean nothing to me.
