Just Preseason?

14 posts in this topic

Everyone says Preseason doesn't mean anything. In my eyes its just a great way to see new players in action, and evaluate them. Seems that Rex is taking this game seriously because he wants to show our organization "what we are missing". Well I say if he takes it this serious we should too. Like i said in previous posts, Im going to be at this game with abunch of friends, including my father. From what I have read on Jets forums, there's going to be some Jets fans there aswell, and the game is completely sold out. I hope to see you guys there to cheer on our football team on Monday Night Football! Enjoy the game Tomorrow night everyone!

Normally I would just say that "It's only pre-season" but I do believe that this game holds a little more merrit.

You have Rex and the Jets who are trying to come in here and prove a point with a few ex Ravens and a rookie QB who the Jets have put a lot of stock into.

Then you have the Ravens who are going to go out and try to prove a point that we can still win without Rex, Bart, and Jim.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I think this is going to be quite a physical pre-season game. Not to mention, it's Monday Night Football.

I guess it could have been but I really didn't look at the skins game as too much of a big deal. Sure, it was fun shutting them out with our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stringers but I've been looking forward to this Jets game for qutie a while.

What people mean by "it doesn't mean anything" is that the games outcome and score doesn't matter. Which is true.

However it is interesting to watch new players performances and what not for the sake of watching. But his stats don't matter, a CB can get 4 picks in a game but it could be to a 5th string QB.

symantics.

The games really MEAN a lot (in varying degreese) but the games do not count towards the final record.

As fans, are you any less stoked about the whoppin' we put on the skins last week?

Either way, lets get this season started !!!!!!!

Pre-season is pointless in that the Wins/Losses and stats dont matter at the end of the season. However, i still really enjoy watching it. Bottomline, it is still football and i enjoy watching football even if it is "pointless." I also really enjoy watching the game and seeing everyones progress both rookies and veterans and seeing our depth. I am especially watching our second and third string this year after all the injuries last year.

Also this game does mean a little more because Rex is coming home as well as scott and leonhard.

Lions are 5-1 in preseason and 0-17 regular season for the last two years. That is what "its just preseason" means.

I look at it as 3-4 mini games, First quarter shows raw talent of the starters (but could also be misleading if that talent isn't backed by stamina). Second and third is how well the fringe starters can compete. Fourth is about making the team or going back to drywall contracting.

I just hope that Bart does not try and put some extra "sauce" on anyone tonight.

no serious injuries...that is all I hope for.

I hope rex ryan eats his words tonight, because all i see is him giving the ravens' organization, bulletin material. no, not only the kruger incident, but also another one where he sorta dissed our HC Harbaugh...

Rex needs to tone down his smack talking, seems like he trying too hard sometimes. Last thing you wanna do it fire up teams like the Ravens and Patriots. I wish him the best of luck, but I don't like the way he is starting off.
