Just thought of something challenging for you guys. Being out here in Chicago, I have to go to bars to watch games, which kind of stinks, since there's no point of just watching replays. So, can you answer these questions? They seem really similar, but there is a very fine line between the answers.

Good luck!

I'll live without the Ravens if I knew they'd win the Superbowl. One year. Then we will be back on top, and I can enjoy the feeling of being superbowl champions while WATCHING next season.

All three are hard, but here's how I voted:

1) I'd rather watch the Ravens 2 days later if it means they win a Super Bowl. At least I'm following them! I'll just make sure to live under a rock for those two days until I can watch, lol.
2) I'd rather watch the Ravens play live, knowing they won't make the playoffs, because that doesn't mean they can't win a few games here or there! The atmosphere at M&T Bank Stadium is unbelievable on gameday, winning season or not.
3) I'd rather watch the Ravens play live with no predetermined outcome than never see them at all and win a Super Bowl. Honestly, there's no point (for me) in rooting for a team if you never get to see them play at all. Now, if you mean I can see full game replays days later, then sure, I'd take the Super Bowl. But other than that, if I'm rooting for a team through news clippings and 2-minute highlight reels, then no point.

I'll watch the game afterwards knowing what happens if it means they win the Superbowl. But can I watch the Superbowl live?

I voted the same way for the same reasons. Yeah, you can't watch them whatsoever, including ESPN Highlights, lol. That's what made it hard.

Some of you guys should really think about it. It's easy to just say something, but to go a whole season without any watch of Ravens is impossible for me.

Superbowl, c'mon guys.

Okay, Okay, I'll be the unselfish one here and make the ultimate sacrifice.

I won't watch any of the games and the Ravens will win the superbowl, SO THAT you guys can enjoy them in all of their glory. That way I can feel good about myself at the end of the day.

But maybe somebody else would like to sacrifice themselves the following year for a repeat?

That is a big sacrifice for the team. You would have no logic on the forums being a whole year behind. All the studying that was done for the past 6 months would be void. I have no second favorite team really so Sundays would suck.

This is pretty easy for me but if I have to sacrifice watching the Ravens play to guarantee them a Superbowl ring I will do it.

I still got my movie for the 2000 season when they won the SB so if they do it again I'll just get the DVD.

are you trying to cause the end of the world!?

and uhm.... practically already is that for me.... I only get primetime games.... that is if the network decides they want to show football during the primetime game.... and if there are 2 primetime games odds are they are showing the other one... unless its ravens vs steelers.... but thats generally primetime and they won't show the other one.... or if they do its the exception to the rule

This poll and the subsequent results are pretty stupid.

You people would be fine with never watching the Ravens and just knowing that they won the Super Bowl? What?

The first question is somewhat valid, but the rest. . .?

This isn't like fighting for your country where sacrifices actually count; to be a fan, you actually have to follow your team, and there's nothing noble about giving up your watching rights but knowing that they won a Super Bowl.

Why would you care about a football team winning the championship when you can't follow them?

Also, why would you follow a team knowing that they never make the playoffs? How does that make sense? What are you possibly rooting for?

Where is the pleasure in any of this?

Texans fans do it every year. Maybe they can answer that question over at their message boards. :P

I'd live on a desert island for the entire season if I knew I'd come back to a Super Bowl champion team. I'd say it's a small price to pay for the team to get #2.

Like someone said...it's hard enough making it Sunday to Sunday let alone making it a whole year without watching them

but since it would be for the Overall betterment of the team I would no problem sacrificing raven games on Sunday

With fantasy football it's become easier to watch some of the other teams games anyway

Interesting poll. I sat in the stands during cold rain during the beating the colts gave us back in 2007. How do you think I voted? I just got to watch this team and if I dont watch the regular season or the superbowl win, I am just like any other bandwagon steeler fan. i rather watch games no matter what.

I would take one for the team as long as they are winning. I am very superstitous that way. Sometimes i would not watch an offensive or defensive series because when i was out of the room we were on a roll. I dont mind not watching it as it happens as long as what happens is good.

For me a large part of football is the anticipation. I couldn't NOT watch (if that makes sense). Being as I live in Canada, I jump at any opportunity I get to see the Ravens... So maybe Im a little biased towards the whole seeing the game live thing. Haven't seen one yet, but that's all gonna change October 18th when I go rep our boys in Minnesota. Going with a Vikes fan so hopefully I won't have many problems wearing my "colors" on enemy turf.

Just so you know, when I said live, it meant in the moment, real time. And when I said not at all, I mean you can not watch the whole season, period. No DVDs, :P. And I don't get why someone would say this is a stupid pole, I just wanted to see what people would seriously do.

I want the Ravens to win the SuperBowl as much as anyone.

...But I have to watch the games. Live. I look forward to seeing them play whether it's a win or a loss. If I can't watch the Ravens make it to the SuperBowl, then I don't feel as if I have did my part as a fan.

Watching the game 2 hours later just isn't the same either, it's not easy staying away from media so that radio/tv game scores don't spoil the outcome before you get a chance to see it.
