LOL!!

Well, Kordell did have the longest past in Raven history (92 yards?) along with Bobby Shaw. Plus, he used to give Billick fits which is why you guys signed him right after we let him go.
Maddox was a good passer, but the Ravens never gave him time to throw. We never could have kept him around.
Don't forget it was the Ravens that injured Maddox so Ben could get his chance. Tommy Maddox, the modern day Wally Pipp?

LOL. There was a guy on sirius today who said, "Hey Solly (Soloman Wilcots) I love you man and I'll listen to you any day over Jamie Dukes." I loved it!

As a military man, I believe in tough love I guess. It always seems to pay off.
I'd MUCH rather have Wilcots than Dukes on NFLTA

By all accounts he's fine. Admittedly, Ben can a bit of a drama queen (like Terry Bradshaw was). It's like the worse it seems, the less there is to worry about with him.

Kordell would drive us crazy. But then he would commit a fatal error. Maddox actually played pretty well the one year.

Everybody gave Billick fits. Even Mike Ditka in the beer commercials. He kept drinking all of Billick's beer. Damn that Ditka.

Some news outlets keep quoting him as saying he felt like a car ran over it. I hope he's being sarcastic or overexaggerating because I'll be pissed if he's out over a training camp injury, of all things.

Even though the assumption is that the Steelers wouldn't do as well with any of the current backups, I'd rather not find out if Dennis Dixon is the next great Steelers QB, or if Charlie Batch has a little Tommy Maddox action in him. The grass isn't always greener on the other side, so for all we know, the backup QBs could do better than Big Ben if he goes down with an injury.

Trouble in Steelers land??

Here is the latest: ESPN is reporting Ben may have injured his right Achilles Tendon when Tackle Max Starks stepped it on in practice. He may be re-examined and his status against the Redskins is uncertain.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp09/news/story?id=4414594

This does not look good for the Steelers. If Ben is re-examined and is okay it would be smart to sit him out the rest of the Pre-season. If not and he did injure his right Achilles Tendon he is done for the season, ala 2009 Tom Brady.

Now I know why Steeler fans think so lowly of their offensive line. XD

Edit:
Ben Roethlisberger has traveled with the Pittsburgh Steelers for this weekend's exhibition game in Washington, a further sign the quarterback's right foot injury is not serious.

Teammates also gave no sign the injury concerned them, and some even yelled at Roethlisberger in jest for leaving the practice field on a golf cart.

Darn!!! Now all Ravens have to do is when Big Ben comes to Baltimore is go for that right ankle and hit it hard. I dont care if Ravens get penalized for it,,Its well worth the penalty going for that ankle. Look at the Oakland Raiders,,They dont care who they hurt. Raiders dont care about getting penalties. They lead the NFL in Penalties last year. All it matters to them is beating the living holy hell outta their opponents.

wow um no....this is still a man's lively hood i don't want to beat the steelers by playing dirty like that...i can't believe that would even be a thought to take out his ankle.
ben didn't start tonight and i still haven't heard if there is any injury to it.

Well the Steelers are a very dirty team. Remember what Joey Porter did to Todd Heap? He knew Heap was hurting and did more damage to him cost him out for the season that year.

No matter how much we dislike a player or team, we should never seek or wish harm against these players.

I hope we get a healthy Big Ben, and shut him down on the football field through fundamentally sound football.

You need to go to BR.com and look up what it means to play like a Raven.

Also, why in the world would you use the Raiders as an example? (Unless it is what NOT to do.) The Raiders have a worse record than the Lions in the past five years; they are not beating their opponents.

I could address this notion of wanting "your team" (if you can rightfully say that) to be penalized, but why bother?

Joey Porter was just a dirty player, period. Though cheapshots have been traded back and forth between two teams, none of them would wish the type of harm on another player that would end his career. We're talking about these guys' livelihoods here. We might dislike a player for what they do on the field against our team, but we should never wish for his career to end. It'd be the same if you wished some guy would break someone else's kneecaps at their workplace so they couldn't work again.

glad people agreed with me that trying to hurt ben is wrong regardless of how we feel this is a competition but it isn't a fight club....i mean really what glory would we get if we beat a charlie batch led steelers.....we'd feel like washington...not something i want to feel like lmao

That is such a classless comment for a fan (of any team). You need to ask yourself if the Ravens players themselves would really embrace you as their fan.

It's comforting, but not surprising, to see your fellow Ravens fans bash you for such an ignorant comment.

When is Big Ben up for free agency? I wonder will Steelers pay Big Ben as much Peyton Manning is making? He deserves it. That will hurt Steelers cap.

Already happened last year, too much IMO.

I dont want to hurt him on a cheap shot. I rather it be clean, with Ray Lewis coming off the end the plowing right into the ground, Bart Scott's hit 2.0. Cheap shots are cheap, clean shots are nice.

This is football!!!! Even John Madden would agree with me. Joey Porter wasnt the only dirty player Steelers had. Remember that guy who put Carlson Palmer out of that game with that grabbing the ankle cheap shot? Steelers had the dirtiest players in the history in the game. It goes way back to those steel curtain days of the 70s. If youre gonna play in the AFC north divison you gotta play on their level. Its the real black n blue divison i know. Forget the Bears vs Packers. Steelers vs Ravens rivery is a war.

What an ignorant, stupid, and entirely FALSE statement!

I can't find the exact statistics, but the Raiders were actually fairly average in the amount of penalties received. They were a very clean team on defense, actually, only getting 78 flags, good enough for third least in the NFL. The Ravens led the NFL with 114 penalties on defense and added another 103 on offense. I say, if anything, we cut down our penalty count so we can move the ball more effectively on offense and shut teams out more efficiently on defense..

-1! Shameful..

Im not talking about those Raiders. The Raiders 5 years ago were pretty rough n mean. The 2000 Raiders were very mean but the Ravens D was much tougher and more meaner. Remember that hit Tony Siragusa put on Gannon?

Give em time maybe not this season but the next one someone is gonna remind them what Raider tradition is all about.

What are you talking about, man? I suggest you just drop the subject all together and save some face.

OK ill drop it,,But you know what im getting at. I want the Ravens D like they were in 2000. Very Mean and very agressive. Remember they shout out the Steelers in Pittsburgh 2000? They played very dirty and agressive in that game. Thats how you gotta get in Big Bens face in order to beat them.

I heard Ben's ankle injury is not that bad.
Apparently after he was helped off the field and up to his room he told team officials that he was fine, but just asked if they could send someone up to fix his TV
