The Three players in the NFL you can't go a SportsCenter without hearing about them.

Brett Favre- Whenever I hear the word "Favre Watch", I die a little inside

Michael Vick- Dog Fighter, went to jail, and disappeared from the media. Until he was released from prison, then all you heard about was Michael Vick, Vick Vick Vick, Vick PETA Vick, Vick football Vick....

Plaxico Burress- Shot himself in the leg, and somehow I should care. He's 32 and won't produce in the league either way. I could understand if he was in Vick's position and was young and in 2 years he would only be 29. But who cares if in 2 years he will be 34 and DONE!

I'm tired of hearing about Favre because it makes me feel sorry for him. His career is becoming like the final gasps of a dying man - and it didn't have to be that way. I like Favre, but now he just looks desperate.

The story I'm most interested in is Michael Vick. I want to see how it plays out. Is he rehabilitated? Can he regain his career and popularity? How does he handle the stress?

Plaxico just pretty much became a non-entity in the football world. Some of these guys make too much money too fast and are given more "power" [popularity? freedom? something.] than they can handle. Sad.

Player I'm most tired of hearing about? Brett Favre. Favre Watch has been going on for the better part of three or four years now. Let the Favre retirement tour END already!

Bigger news story? Michael Vick signing with the Eagles. It has ramifications in more ways than one.

Not only has it divided the Eagles fanbase, but it's also brought into question Donovan McNabb's job security, as well as the trust that Andy Reid has in McNabb's other backups. Additionally, it raises questions as to whether Vick was brought in to legitimately help the team, or just as a favor to Vick to get him back on his feet. Then there's also the PETA angle and how the NFL treads an already-slippery public relations slope. Factor in the late-season game against Vick's former team as well as Vick's desire to play QB again, and there's even more storylines-within-storylines. Let's also not forget that, not too long ago, Eagles fans wanted Andy Reid out after a disappointing 2007 campaign.

Wow. Tough poll!
[/quote]

I thought of it after they came in sequence on ESPN.

Favre is a Viking, let's go to camp....
Let's talk about Michael Vick's impact to the Eagles....
Breaking News: Plaxico Burress will plea guilty....

I'm like, isn't there baseball highlights or something ELSE you can show me.

I'm tired of hearing about Favre personally. It's been a two year long soap opera and exercise in alienating his fans. As much as I was tired of hearing about Vick, I thought Favre had finally done what he needed to do for his body and retire. I thought Favre Watch 2009 was over and done with. However, he couldn't leave well enough alone. So while Vick may be dying down now that he's signed with a team and no one can contemplate who he'll sign with, Favre shoots past him on the annoyance scale.

As for the biggest "news", Burress going to jail for 2 years. Mostly because it's more "news" than Favre or Vick, which was just a big tabloid tale taking over everyone's lives until they signed with their teams.

is it a PR move on somebody's part that these 3 stories broke around the same time? I mean plex's court date might have been a target date for vick and farvre to make their announcements to sort of soften the media blowout. im sick of hearing about favre but at least now there are two other stories to beat like a dead horse.

Jackson will not even get a chance to outperform Favre, BF is the starter.

If I was Jackson or Rosenfeld I would look for a trade or "accidentaly" smash Favre's knee....

Real tired of Plaxico. He's no longer in this league, why is he being talked about? An Ex-NFL player's legal situation shouldn't be NFL news. Same deal with Vick.

Now Vick's back in the league, so more coverage on him is warranted, but it is taken to an unsettling extreme. Every time I hear about "everything he's gone through" and "how he's endured so much" my stomach turns. Giving a man a second chance is one thing, but trying to paint him as a hero or something and *forgetting* his past is an ugly display. I really hope Vick doesn't get in the way of the SEASON. I don't wanna hear anything about Vick for the 6 weeks HE'S NOT ABLE TO PLAY, and if he's cleared to play after that his every move doesn't need to be a headline.

Favre, meh. I'm tired of him as a story and a constant media lightning rod, but as a person and a football player I think he's great. He just doesn't want to quit playing football and having fun, and there's still plenty of teams that wanna give him a try so you can't blame him. It's all on the media there.

Should they have ignored Steve McNair's death as well?

Words fail when it comes to my disgust with the Favre circus. Go away already! He did an interview with SI and the jist was anyone who doesn't love him now never really did love him.

I didn't know if I should laugh or cry.

Steve McNair's death has what to do with three big stories that are constant headlines? Also, I never said stories about ex-NFL players should be ignored, just that they shouldn't be constant developing stories you have to see every detail of as a headline on ESPN.com.

Steve McNair is not a continuing story. It showed up for a few days while all the facts were coming in, there was coverage of the funeral, and then that was it. Story over. Small snippets of details appear on the sidebars now and then but it's not an in-your-face story. Plaxico has had headlines about him ever since the incident. Then after the sentencing we get an E:60 with him. What on Earth? Let it die already.

Don't even know where you were trying to go with bringing McNair into this thread.

If you watch his interview he said he WILL play when he comes back. 2 years of rest will do a lot for someone his age, it may take 4 years off his football age.

Anyway I'm sick of Favre and he better retire if he doesn't win the SB this year.

I like Plaxicos interview because he was sincere, those weren't fake emotions especially when the guy asked him about how he won't see his baby girl who has yet to be born until age 2.

Vick will be starter by the end of the season in Philly, those fans hate Donovan with a passion, I mean his first pre-season game and they were chanting for vick to start. This situation won't end well but will be like a spanish soap opera. Or Vick will be outed alternatively.
