Yeah it will be on the news after the game. And the worst part is that they usually do sports with the last ten minutes of the news. So we might be waiting for awhile to see what they are talking about.
Depends on how big of a deal it is. If it's something we all ready know with some new twists to it, than yeah it will be saved for the usual last ten minutes. On the other hand, if it is something new and big to where a trade is quite possible by the end of the weekend they may start with it. We are about to find out shortly as we have 26 seconds left in the Colts-Eagles game.

Exactly. I don't watch the news either so it better be worth it. Right now if they don't say "The Ravens have contacted Denver about acquiring Marshall and that talks have begun about a trade and that something will be done by Sunday." That right there is news worthy enough to keep everybody waiting.

I know they said they had a quote from John so. It should be interesting.

Got me also, I will never be tricked like that by the news again as they betrayed what little trust I had in them. I just made me realized how news isn't news it's old (people kill people, people are mad, and people are people). There was nothing sports related they would have exclusive that for yam sure.

That's why you should've listennnned! Believe me, as a part-time, amateur *gulp* member of the media, I know how the game works! They got you hook, line, and sinker.

In today's Information Age, there's no way that a local news station would have an exclusive story like this, especially with the internet and Twitter and all these avenues for news to leak. It also didn't help the station's cause when there've been many agents in recent years who have broken stories before they've made it to national outlets.

We dont need Wilson. Tedd Ginn Jr is awful (williams is better than him). I like our Guards better than Shawn Murphy. Plus i would much rather have Oz with a first round pick (there is no one better at drafting than oz).

It wasn't really a story at all. They just noted the rumors that the sun had on their website about trading for Marshall with Troy and D. Will and possibly a 2nd round pick. Then they had a clip of coach talking about what it means to be a raven and if you don't have those qualities then you aren't going to be a raven...

I wasted 45 minutes of my life waiting to see what they were gonna say.

Exactly. I wouldn't mind Marshall on this team at all.... except for a few things. I'm going to say the same thing I said about getting Merriman in a Ravens uniform for 2010.... lock up Jared Gaither first. If siging Marshall meant losing Gaither and us going back to drafting a new LT than I say no. If there was some way to keep Gaither, Clayton, Yanda and every other key player from hitting the market while getting Marshall and giving him a new deal than by all means go for it. I just am not willing to give up our future when it comes to getting that big name reciever everybody wants.

If we don't get Marshall this season, I say lets hope that the Chargers use much of their cap to keep Merriman and Rivers and let Vincent Jackson hit the market and get Jackson to be our # 1.
Gaither is very important to lock up but you forget the most important person to sign is Ngata and if we get Marshall say goodbye to Ngata and Gaither. Wide reciever is just one postion. I am not willing to give away key pieceS for one piece.

Wouldnt say it was a total waste....if you read between the lines, it sounds like Harbs is saying not to hold your breath waiting for a Marshall trade to happen.

Marshall wants out badly and is doing everything in his power to get out which only lessens his value... if Moss can be had for a 4th, surely we can get Marshall for a 3rd and 6th? So long as we can still lock up Gaither and Ngata I am all for bringing him in here.

You're comparing the Raiders and the Broncos, man. There's a difference. You saw Denver milk Chicago big-time this offseason for Cutler and Oakland give Derrick Burgess to New England for peanuts. Denver is not stupid, they know Marshall has big trade value, especially for a team like us that doesn't have a whole lot of proven receiver talent. If it were as simple as you think, it would be done already.

I'm not a proponent for Marshall, never have been. The costs of bringing him in, signing him, and his past problems far outweigh his production and talent.

People keep saying that Smith will bolt after this season but the truth of the matter is the Ravens have more control over his immediate future then he does. He's an RFA next year, Ravens have right of first refusal. No, team is going to give him a deal we cant match because no one is going to pay him as a starter and no team is going to give up a high draft pick for him. I've been saying all offseason that Troy Smith is most likely stuck here for the next two seasons. And unless a trade happens, I stand by that 100%.
Troy Smith is too valuable to the Ravens. We won't, shouldn't, and couldn't afford to lose a strong back up QB in the event something should happen to Flacco. Beck is not ready to be second string and neither are Cleo Lemon or our 5th QB.

However, the fact that we have 5 QBs is getting me worried. It may be signaling that we are about to make some sort of a deal with Troy, I would not agree with a trade where Troy is involved. He is too valuable and I'm sure we could utilize him throughout the year in crazy packages.

True but it depends on what the Broncos want for Marshall. Moss wasn't producing like he did with New England so it's a little unfair to base the value of what one player meant to a team and visa versa.

I'll say this about the Marshall thing and will stick with it. I'd love to see Marshall playing for the Ravens.

Trading T-Smith and Williams would be good but I'm at a love/hate relationship with it. Smith is a good backup and what would happen if Flacco got hurt? I'd be a little more comfortable with Smith in the back field than any of our other QBs even though they've been in the system before.

but right now, I think Marshall head is mentally not in the game RIGHT NOW with what is going on with the Broncos. It's a back and fourth thing that is crazy. Right now, we are still evaluating Harper and let me say this, Jayson Foster doesn't make the team, I will have a fit lol.

Dude was making plays left and right in training camp and I was quite impressed with the way he was getting away from CB's in the Preseason game against the Redskins. He's only 5'7 but dude is a BEAST! My girlfriend doesn't know all the players like that but when we went Sunday, she definitely remembered Foster.

So in all, whatever happens, happens. All we can do like critics do is speculate and debate on what is going to happen. The coaches, front office, will do their jobs and see what is right for the team at the moment.

Remember, we are a run first offense.

Well, you can also say that Roy Williams went for a 1, 3 and 5th.

Hmmm.

You see Moddy, this world is fast becoming property of generation Y (I think) And to keep keep ahead of the times sometimes you need to jazz things up... add a bit of sass! and pizazz! etc etc. Attention spans are shortening, WRs are kicking extra points, tweets are twitting, its a mad world out there and somebody needs an intervention (it doesn't matter who, just somebody)

Please nuke this thread on humanitarian and moral grounds I beg of you :P

hey i'm a huge Troy Smith fan, and i think Demetrius Williams has some real potential to be great, but even if he were able to stay healthy, hes no Brandon Marshall. and as much as I like Troy, he just doesnt fit in the long term because of Flacco. I think hes got a chance to start for someone eventually, and itd be hard to envision him here after this year anyway due to his expiring contract. If we could pull of a trade for one of the best young recievers in the league, just by giving up a backup or two, and even a draft pick, I think it would be way more than worth it. We'd get a surefire No. 1 reciever for years, which we're really going to need after Mason's gone after this season.
