Ravens Add Wr And Qb.

17 posts in this topic

Looks like John Beck is either seriously hurt or just not impressing the coaches enough because back come Drew Willy.

I think a lot of us fans were interested to see what Willy could do before getting released and now we might just see him in action soon.

The Ravens also sign WR Bradon Godfrey of Utah.

Godfrey is a 6-3 190 pound WR, he is more like a possesion type WR. I don't think he has much of an impact on the final roster, but hey, we won't know until we give him a shot.

Also Lamar Divens was placed on IR. So it looks like the signing of Nader Abdallah, wasn't as pointless as many thought.

To me it sounds like Beck is hurt, or hurt enough in his throwing arm to not be useful as a third string QB.

Totally called that one. I knew we got rid of Willy too early. Should be easy for him to beat out Beck.

Sounds like Beck injured his throwing shoulder. Let's see if the kid from Buffalo can do anything

Sounds like the kid from Buffalo is starting fast in his first day back. This from CBS Sports.

"Ravens WR Jayson Foster could factor in the race to be the No.4 receiver if he continues to beat Ravens DBs on deep routes. He beat DB Chris Carr by three steps down the sideline to catch a long TD pass from QB Drew Willey."

Very nice. I also saw that Marshall Yanda is back, practicing, after sitting out Thursday. Glad to hear that, too.

From fanball.com:

John Beck's MRI on his throwing shoulder revealed no torn ligaments or broken bones, according to Aaron Wilson's (Ravens Insider) twitter page.

Looks like nothing too serious. Also looks like there will be a battle for the number 3 QB.

Good depth signing for WR, to many have been going down lately.

Yeah I like the move. Smith is going to IR, we get a new WR in. Beck doesn't really shine, so we bring in another QB (or should I say bring back).

Welcome to the forums, Jbo!

and with that

Looks like Cleo Lemon could be added to the battle for #3 QB.

With possibly 4 QBs on the roster, i don't see Flacco getting a whole lot of work. Time to start saving the arm for the season.

With the way Carr played at nickel and dimeback in that first game, I don't think it'd be that hard to beat Chris Carr on a route. I'm just sayin'. -_-

Hey no matter what happens with the WR and CB, the QB still has to deliver the ball, so give the kid some credit. ;)

6'3" 190? Man that's like a twig. I'm 6'3" and in pretty good shape at 225. I couldn't imagine dropping 35 lbs. When this guy jumps, the wind probably blows him away.

I didn't see that much of the Ravens game but my impression was that the Ravens were having their way with the Redskins. I heard that Beck has a shoulder injury. The point I'm attempting to make is that the Ravens should pick up the Cardinals fourth string quarterback. His name is Palko.

I know what your thinking. A fourth string quarterback? He played well against the Steelers. He played better than Lineart or St. Pierre did by a large margin. Here's an interesting bit of history. Palko was the reason that Flacco transferred to Delaware State. Flacco couldn't get on the field with Palko playing. Just think of it. The guy that beat out Flacco in college would be the third string quarterback. If the Ravens pick him they would be set at quarterback. Just a thought.
