I remember I went and re-signed Gaither(5 year 40 Million), Yanda(4 year 18 Million), Landry(I only gave him a 3 year deal because I may move up in the draft and get Taylor Mays or Eric Berry and put one of them in at SS) and I thought it was pretty reasonable. I hope I don't have to pay Ngata that, that will kill the cap room.

2 gap DTs are kind of pointless in this game because they don't draw double blocks or use their strength like in real life.

Man I must be getting shafted in my franchises lol, cuz Gaither wanted 76 mil over 7 years, I didnt even resign Yanda cuz he wanted in the 20s for 4 years and I was like ****** that sheet. Landry was super cheap tho I got him locked up for 5 years for like 18 mil. In my scouting profiles, Eric Berry doesnt look too hot hes ranked in like the 8-12 range for SS.

Yes running the 3-4 seems pointless cuz i almsot always get a G that comes up to block Lewis (who i play with) so if i want to make the play I have to make the read almost instantly and shoot a gap before the G comes up. As you said Ngata and Gregg dont get double teamed so the 3-4 is like pointless.

Superstar kind of sucks, but aside from these issues franchise is really a lot of fun. I'm still tweaking the diffculty/penalty/injury/fatigue settings to make it as real as possible.

The 5 WR is really bizarre. When I line up with five Receivers I also get Ray Rice and Todd Heap. They also line up in some 3 and 4 WR sets. There use to be a substitution menu where you can select who to line up on what formation. This has either disappeared, or I cannot find it.

Holding calls are pretty bad. Not just on the XP. When I have a 45-50 yard field goal to win the game to be canceled by a holding. It's pretty bad. Especially when it happens 70% of the time.

In the 5 WR set, you can change the package for it to actually include 5 true WRs rather than the weird 3WR-1TE-1RB package that is defaulted with that set. Flick the right analog stick left or right while hovering over a formation set to change it for that particular set.

Better to use the package than the substitution button because substitutions, for some reason, are PERMANENT and cannot be changed by packages if you're playing in Franchise Mode unless you start over.

The draft in Franchise mode is AWESOME!! SO is scouting! ...except that I can't view (in scouting) only the guys I scouted. I drafted one bust in the 3rd round (I had to 3rd round pick cuz I traded Willie Colon - lol) and I cut my 7th rounder. Everyone else was a keeper.

I did just out of curiosity; didn't really do much to enhance or change the experience. The only thing I really used was scouting (before I started over with the current rosters), but that took a little bit of the fun out of drafting. Then again, scouting's an afterthought anyway using the NCAA draft classes, so I'm contemplating just using only the first two years of real draft classes and then moving onto fictional draft classes.

I'm debating whether or not to purchase the training. But that's a pain in the butt each week when you just want to get into a game.

It's minimal at best. Don't worry about it, unless you just want to purchase all the accelerators for, like, $10 (or however many Microsoft points that is.)

If you have a copy of NCAA Football 10, just like in previous iterations, you're given the option of exporting draft classes to Madden at the end of every season in Dynasty Mode. With the new EA Locker feature, there are many dedicated fans who actually go and NAME all the real-life players (some even adjust the attributes and equipment for accuracy) and you're able to download their roster files and apply to your own game for when you export the draft classes.

The draft classes don't seem to have as much of an impact on teams as in previous years of Madden, so honestly, it's not worth the time and investment unless you really want a true-to-life experience after your first season of Franchise Mode. You're better off with the hand-crafted rookies that EA Sports came up with in each draft class.

Possible tip to share:

Not sure if you guys new this, but once you've selected your rookies to scout, most of them will be "fully scouted" after one week. What I did was "unscout" all of them and select a new 18 (each week). Then by week 3 or 4 I re-select only the high scorers and get all the info I can on them (85's or higher). Haven't drafted that way yet, but I'll update once I do. Seems like a solid approach.

Steelers just injured Flacco for the game on the first drive. They even spoil my fun when I'm trying to play this stupid game.

Sounds like you need to adjust the injury sliders. I think mine are around 25. I'll have 2-4 injuries of varying degrees throughout the year (not counting in game injuries).

[/u]If I'm able, I was thinking about replacing the nickle and dime backs in the dime formation with OLB's (essentially giving myself a 4-3 formation to choose from) and using the formation in 3rd and manageable situations where the opposition is using a 2WR, 2RB, 1TE or Singleback set.

I never use the Dime for passing downs unless it's near the goal line and there's a chance of a run (I like having the extra D-Lineman). I'll use Nickle, Dollar and Quarters for passes.

Doesnt the Steelers playbook had the 3-4 stack in it? If so thats basically a 4-3 because your LOLB blitzs and the coverages in the 3-4 stack are made for 4-3 defenses.

Anyone find the Madden IQ a joke sometimes. I noticed that after the Green Bay game my passing IQ dropped quite a bit (Even though I threw for 300+ yards). Next up Detroit Lions, I decided to exploit my Madden IQ. (On a side note: I can't run the ball worth for crap - but my running IQ is maxed out).

8 minute Quarters. IQ at 670 - but passing is really low. I unleashed the fury.

J. Flacco - 611 Yards, 6 Tds - Breaks NFL record
D. Mason - 394 Yards, 4 TDs - Breaks NFL record
(If they could get these stats in real life against the Lions, I'd **** myself)

So take your Madden IQ and shove it EA sports.

Ironically, for all the improvements EA Sports has made from 09 to 10, Madden IQ has taken a significant step back this year. I loved the feature last year and the difficulty was pretty balanced, but this year's IQ system fluctuates TOO MUCH between games.

I stopped playing on My IQ when I got to 740, things started to get ridiculous, I fumbled literally 9 times a game even though Id cover the ball up when I ran through the hole. Id catch a pass turn it up field and get stripped, I literally couldnt do anything on offense because of the fumbles. I started playing on Custom and configured the sliders to make it realistic and hard at the same time. My IQ went up to 800 (perfect IQ) I dont even wanna know what it would be like to play on that, just scary. My IQ fluctuates now from 800 to 777 to 743 at times depending how I play.
