I'm not liking Flacco, he had 1 really great pass to Marcus Smith but that is it. Troy is looking MUCH better. Flacco can't score, look what Smith did in less than a minute.
dude will you ever shut up about troy smith? he's not the starting quarterback for a reason. If Flacco was out there against the Skin's second string he probably would have torched them. Smith was way less accurate with his throws than Flacco. Smith couldn't have made that pass to Marcus Smith on his best day with a strong wind behind him

1. Flacco played vs. 1st string - Smith vs. 2nd string
2. Flacco completion % = 60%, Smith 43.8%
When you have all those drop balls you'll have a low completion rate
When you dump the ball to the RB you have a highing completion rate.

Flacco TD's -0
Smith TD's - 1
-1

I don't appreciate you disrespect. I like watch Smith move the chains lets see if he can score.

and they weren't dropping catchables from Flacco?

see: Franchise's Harper rants.
I wouldn't have been ranting about an incomplete pass unless it was perfectly catchable. And trust me, when the ball's hitting your hands, you're expected to catch it -- NO EXCEPTIONS. They don't pay you to drop the ball.

no it was valid criticism, Franchise, I was just using your documentation of all the passes by Flacco that got dropped.

12 of 22 for 180 yds against 2nd string = back up QB numbers. Not saying he's playing poorly but Flacco is miles ahead of Troy Smith end of story

We started at the 5 yard line..

Some people can't handle controversy. If we can sit McGahee and McCalister for a better filler. Flacco can sit until he proves he is better than Smith.

wow - troy is impressing. Figurs coulda done a better job to ensure his feet there
I'll agree that he's played well. But, I take his performance right now with a grain of salt. To complete less than 50% of your passes against a second-string defense isn't starter-quality...not for this team right now, anyway.

Not watching it but he isn't. 12/22 is 50%>. And considering 2 of those were spikes and a couple others were drops, he's completed a fair amount.

EDIT- Now 12/25. Poor timing. :D

Not disrespecting you, but you usually seem to side with the back up quarterback over Flacco who could actually be a star in the league

Why are you so anxious to see the incumbent starting QB benched? As a Ravens fan, have you not learned to be HAPPY that there's a quality starter under center, penciled in??? Shouldn't the Kyle Boller years have taught you anything?

I'll take a proven QB that's won 11 games in the NFL under center and 2 road playoff games, than a guy who hasn't done anything with meaningful snaps thus far.

True, but you have to take the spikes and the drops into consideration as well.

To be fair, though, if you're excusing the drops for Troy Smith, you have to excuse the drops for Flacco, too. There were at least three or four drops that I counted during Flacco's two possessions, including a sure TD by Derrick Mason and a wide-open Marcus Smith.

No, I'm just stating the fact that The Ravens started at the 5 yard line and we're moving the ball. Starters, backups, I don't care. This is fun to watch. It's sad what happened to Smith but seriously, QB is not even a discussion this year. We have so many pressing holes and interesting guys on the team that since QB has been a sore on our back, it's good to see us with 2 QBS who are running the offense really well.

The coaches know what they are doing. They see these guys everyday and know what they can do and can't do.

I agree. He is trying to shine and pulling out all the stops. The COMPLETION to Figurs couldve had a much different result. Most of the time thats a bad or picked off pass - going one way and throwing to the opposite side of the field. His ability to move in the pocket and throw on the run are impressive.
