Rex Ryan As Head Coach

IMO I dont think our defense is doing that bad... yes we havent been playing up to our standards but we did set the bar pretty high... we havent given up a 100yd rusher yet... thats something to be proud of... there needs to be some minor adjustments but overall I think we're ok and it's not as terrible as some people would like to think... It's gotta be hard for a defense to play so well when we have such a terrible offense... I know we have done that so well in the past but c'mon thats gotta suck and I would have to say that it will kill any defense eventually...

Not to beat a dead horse but our offense is the route of all our problems... football is a game of momentum and with our offense we kill any momentum we have...

I remember people debating whether or not Billick would change the play calling with Boller being the starter... and well he didnt...this alone might not cause alot of controversy but add the fact that we have 3 rookies on our O-line and just terrible results in our first 7 games as far as offense and a not as dominant D and come on!!! Everyone here can see there is a huge problem.. why can't anyone step up and do something about it...i.e. Billick... we need a completely new look for our offense going into the big games after the bye... this will confuse the opposing teams D and possibly open us up to some big plays... we need CHANGE.

Seriously I like Billick but you cant tell me he is an offensive genius... coaches come and go in this league... Billick has had his moments but how long must we suffer before its too late?

lol dont believe what you hear in the papers ....they are also the ones that said mcalister had a "torn pcl"....i think if billick was in fact calling the plays we would have no problems in the redzone.....we could barely even score against the bengals and the bills. they have one of the worst defenses in the league......last year we used 2 execute against teams with those types of defenses

yeah sorry to bust your bubble, Billick DOES call the plays during game-time, the OC is there to coach the team through the gameplan leading into the week so Billick has more time to work on other parts of the organization.basically, Neuheisel is a facilitator to make things easier for billick to handle all the responsibilities that are associated with being HC and OC at the same time.

yea they move it down the field and then wut, call a pass play on third & one, 4th and one....WHAT KIND OF PLAY CALLING IS THAT!!! hopefully some type of good news comes out of this bye week coming up

Right on! Yeah, what the hell was that?!? I think they called a pass play 3 times in a row to get 1 yard. When you are playing for the win, you get that yard and keep the drive alive. Run the ball, pick up the first down, then if you need time, spike it.

Billick is the play caller and I think he holds all the responsibility. I dont know how effective Rick Neuheisel can be if he designs the plays, but doesn't get to call any of them. Billick might be too controlling because with all of the past offensive coordinators our offense always looks the same. On another note, isn't it helpful for the play caller who is normally not the head coach on the sidelines, up in a booth looking down over the entire field. I think we should ban short out passes for 3 yards from our playbook unless we're on the goal line. We gave up 3 draft picks and 2 offensive linemen for Willis Mcgahee and now we choose to be a passing team. What's the sense in that? Lets go back to our roots and run that football. McGahee has proven he can get it done. That opens up the pass down field with playaction. Maybe we should give Marty Schottenheimer a call.

Lets Start off with this:

You guys here must not read much.

4.) i dont know how many of you guys remember ravens before billick but we sucked and had 0 defense...just ray and a few other guys

Just making sure your not giving Billick all the credit for building that D up in the first place. If so. Give credit were credit is due. We may not like him now. But thank Marvin Lewis first off.

Considering how badly Rex's D played yesterday and how bad they've been at playing all 4 quarters this year, I don't understand why anyone thinks Rex is in line for a big promotion at this time.

Let's see if he can whip his D back into shape first.

I would love to see you go out and stay on that field that long and play as hard as the Defense does. We were up top in the T.O.P chart. Why. Our Defense gets the ball back . Turnover or 3 and out. Our defense is bend but don't break. What More can you ask from what they go through. Take some stress off there back by getting an offense and watch the tables turn. It's Offense Defense and Special Teams that play the game. And Not Having Rolle for a few weeks and Losing Mcallister hurts. Look what we did when they were both Healthy. The Rams suck but I mean we tore them up. And the lack of Trevor Price. That causes big problems.

I don't really take stats into account. I want to watch the team play good. Not read in the paper how we did this that and this. But the L is sitting on that game. I was listening to the radio today and I heard Ray Lewis say. Do you want to lead the league in interceptions and sacks. But be 32nd in defense? (Or force 3 and outs have a soild defense and win ball games?)

We Had an offense thaty got more done last year. Of Course were injury ridden. They do have a lot of potential to be a lot better. I won't judge them untill after the Bye when I see my starters out there again.

We need a HC as a HC and a OC as an OC.

But thank Marvin Lewis first off.

Marvin was the DC before Billick got here and our defense sucked. Billick got them working together and "playing as one". Marvin got the credit and has done NOTHING since he left here.

We were up top in the T.O.P chart. Why.

Actually it was because our offense was sustaining long drives, even though they were ending in field goals rather than touchdowns. If the defense wants to get off the field, it's in their hands. All they have to do is play well and they're back on the bench.

yea, our offense is doing pretty well in regards to getting the Yardage (we had more total yards last week against the Bills than the Bills had) and the week before (i think)....so i think that the offense IS getting the job done, regarding the "field position".....and up until last week the Red zone has been kinda like an area in which we couldnt even get near, but we scored 2 TD's in the last game (1 rushing and 1 passing) so our offense is in fact coming together.....much slower than we all hoped they would, but they are (at least) starting to feel the Endzone. As For Our Defense, i agree, if they want to get off the field more, then they need to step up a little more and create turnovers and oppurtunities for our offense to get down the field and score. interceptions, fumbles, takeaways, sacks...all are things in which our defense needs to work on IF they want to see our offense on the field alot more.

I agree with what you are saying but it isn't fair to judge a team that's prolly 65% healthy. Trevor Pryce was our sack leader last year and he's out. Now they double team Suggs. That's why we haven't had great pressure on the quarterbacks. That pressure forces QBs to make hasty decisions like throwing into tight coverage and enabling us to get those turnovers. I don't know who exactly to thank for our great defense. Prolly Ozzie and DeCosta for getting such great personnel and draft picks on defense. Ray Lewis, Peter Boulware, Jamie Sharper, Duane Starks, Chris McAlister, Adalius Thomas, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Jarret Johnson, Dawan Landry, Haloti Ngata, and signed undrafted picks like "Hot Sauce" Bart Scott. Also, I think we could thank Mike Singletary for coaching Ray and making him even better than he could have been with just a mediocre linebacker coach. Marvin Lewis, Mike Nolan, Rex Ryan, they might not be able to take credit in progreesing our players like linebacker, D line, and secondary coaches, but they make schemes that utilize our talents and create great plays. I don't know why we're struggling defensively. Maybe Belichick sold videos of our play calling to teams around the league. I think Billick and our offense relies too much on the defense in help to score points and frankly it's not their job. Is anyone else really heated we cut Derek Anderson like he was an extra kicker?!?

yea, it really isnt Fair to Judge a team that has alot of injured Players like we have, and to still be above .500 with the players we're missing..thats a good thing you could look at, but you can bet (as i have saide before) the Ravens will be looking for a Win next week, coming off a bye, fully rested, and healthy (with all/most of) our Core Players coming back from injury.....all of which i feel, will have a Big Impact on how this game will turn out in the end, we have a TON of Play makers on the team, that due to injury, havent been able to meet their own or people around them expectations, but NOW, with a Team that has most of its starters back in action and healthy.....be on the look out for Both sides of the ball to be making plays and get those crucial turnovers and Driving down the length of the field for those Touchdowns!
