Bull! LT changed the way the game is played. His cocaine habit did not span the years of his tremendous influence. He should be tied at #1.

LT and Ray should change ranks. This is "Most Feared Tackler", not "Most Feared Pass-Rusher"

lol, Montana gets owned at 2:15

I think the best hit on Joe Montana was by Jim Burt in the NFC Championship game (86?) at Giants Stadium. SNL did a skit on it shortly after.

LT did way more than pass rush, and since you've mentioned it, he would likely be in the top ten of a few categories concerning greatness.

I can't get youtube here, is that a Terry Bradshaw clip?

Kidding. There was no way I could let that go unsaid. ;-)

Seriously, is that the Burt/Montana clip? From what I remember, it looks like an old lady being hit by a bus.

I know you guys are going to freak on me (and call me a homer) so I'll put it as tactfully as I can:

It is my belief that Jack Lambert should be ahead of Ray Lewis on that list. My reasons are in the title of the list: "Most feared." Jack was known for his vicousness and pretty much little else (although obviously a solid LB). Ray is a field general for the defense, fast and no one (at least in his younger years) escaped his grasp. Sure he hit hard but Lambert was just plain mean.

There you have it: My humble opinion.
Feared, yeah, Lambert. He was a true monster. Though Mendenhall might disagree with you!

Wrong on LT tho:
But Taylor's problems ran deeper than alcohol. He admitted to cocaine abuse in 1985. He said he switched his addiction to golf, which he called his "detox tank," and putted his way through rehabilitation. He was suspended for 30 days in 1988 for failing a drug test.

Taylor entered drug rehab twice in 1995. Then he was arrested two times in three years on charges he tried to buy cocaine.
Seems he was pretty much loaded the whole time.

I was thinking the same thing, glad you mentioned it. That was some hit.

The hit Ray put on that Broncos gunner in 2002 is stuff of legends. Back when CMac was returning and Ray was blocking for him.

The greatest FB that never was.
