Redkins Vs Ravens Thursday

I was listening to 96.3 which is a DC radio station. The Skins Fans are reeeeeeeaaaly hopin they beat us and dont care whether its a pre-season game or not. I've talked to sum Skins Fans and they really dont like the Ravens too much!! I'm wondering,where did the Bad Blood come from? What do you guys think?

I don't really care if the Ravens win the game on Thursday or not. Pre-season games aren't about results or statistics. I'm more looking forward to seeing players Flacco, Rice, Harper, Drew, Oher and Webb, Kruger and Ellerbe.

As for the bad blood, it probably stems from jealousy. The Skins always make a big splash in the pre-season and usually start the season well but then they slip up and it becomes a struggle to finish with a winning record. The Ravens, on the other hand, stay low and are usually competitive, even in down years. I'll admit that Sean Taylor(R.I.P) was my favorite player in the league and I really like Portis and Fletcher but the Redskins and some fans really do annoy me.

And as for last year's game against them, I loved it. That final drive where they pounded the ball on them for around 9 straight minutes was beautiful. I actually felt a little sorry for Fletcher as he got wrecked play after play by Lorenzo Neal.

I'll be there, and even though it's a preseason game I still hope we look good, even our backups and young guys who might not make the team, and win the game. It's still the Skins, and I don't like them very much haha.

What's kind of funny is that I hear Redskins fans complaining all the time about how the Panthers trash talk them about their last pre-season game. They're always talking about how it's just pre-season and it means nothing, but now that they are facing us they're acting as though it matters.
Now I can understand the Colt Brennan followers being excited about it; what else do they have? Everyone else seems like they're getting a little too into it...

Redskin fans are salty that when the Colts left Baltimore, A lot of fans in MD went to watch the skins play. But 9 years later when the Browns came into town, they all jumped onboard to become Raven fans.

I like the Redskins but their fans annoy me. They think they have the greatest team yet cant prove it. I went to the Skins/Ravens pre season game in 2007 where it rained out at Fed Ex feel during the 3rd quarter cancelling the game and giving the skins the win . all of the Skins fans were throwing stuff at us saying how we got our butts beat and how the Ravens sucked. I just laughed at them and didn't understand why they took that preseason game that was CANCELLED like it was a freaking victory over terrorism or something.

We have too much depth, i can't imagine us losing a pre-season. Our back-ups are like starters. The Ravens will be playing against pre-season opponents but all the others will be playing against a legit team all 4 quarters.

Yeah, hopefully no injuries though. For both teams. It is going to be weird to see Haruki in for Ed. I m sure Jason Campbell will love that though.

It's a preseason game, even I don't care(neither should you). I'm more interested in the how the players do then the game itself.

I guess its like the little cocky school kid who runs his mouth afoul a much bigger kid. Bigger kid tells him "after school, I'm going to let you have it." and walks away calmly. The little kid masks his fear by running his mouth even more, all the while dreading "after school".
Well, I for one absolutely cannot wait for "after school" err I mean gameday now.

I know what you mean. Other than receivers(the majority of them are unproven), the Ravens have quality depth at almost every position. However, I don't see Rice doing much in the 2nd half. The coaches will probably go with Peerman and Parmele.

You know what's funny? I go on the 'Skins website all the time and they cannot seem to stop talking about us. They compare their qb to ours, they think their secondary will be better than ours, they believe that London Fletcher is better than Ray Lewis (granted, whenever anyone talks about linebackers they talk about Lewis) They don't talk about us as often as say their divisional rivals, but it's ironic that they claim that it's Ravens fans who think there is a rivalry when there is none, but how often to we talk about the Redskins on this site?

Not only those, but the Redskins planned to relocate to a stadium in suburban Maryland in 1997, plans that were canceled when the Browns became the Ravens.

This is actually going to be a GREAT test for Flacco and the offense. I expect the Redskins to have a very good defense this year(fantasy tip!).

It will also be fun to see the backups battle for spots on the depth chart. Which corners will emerge. Justin Harper. Troy Smith. etc. etc. etc.

That is part of what makes some Redskins fans bitter. Former 'Skins fans jumped ship when Baltimore got a team again and since that time, that team has been... well we know the story.
