Because I watched how horrible he was at training camp, i read how horrible he was at training camp and I watched how horrible he was with the Dolphins. It would be cheaper to just sign a rookie. Beck is 100X worse than Kyle Boller.

Apparantly the coaches are realizing this too by yelling at him a lot today at practice about throwing interceptions and fumbling snaps.

I agree but I like the 2 qb that we did in 06. That could free up a roster spot for another defensive back or reciever.

Well, seeing as how the Ravens signed Beck [i]after[/i] the draft, they figured he would be more valuable to our team then any rookie on the market. The Ravens had scouted him during the 2007 draft and liked what they saw, they actually had him rated above Troy Smith..

Ozzie likes him. And, yes, he struggled in Miami in the '07 season but is that fair to judge him off of. Cam Cameron was coaching that team and saw that he had potential, so, when Beck hit the FA market, he and the Ravens were glad to sign him. When asked to compare Beck to other mentionable QBs who were 3rd-stringers at one point in their career..

So, to the best of my knowledge, the Ravens like Beck. One bad day at training camp or a few bad games on a 1-15 team does not make someone a bad player. There's no way anyone can "strongly believe" Beck will be cut. He very well may be turning in his playbook by the end of camp, sure, but it won't be because of what he did in Miami or because of your own personal bias against him.

As we saw last year, you need three QBs on the depth chart. If two goes down there goes the season. If you are on you third string you can still make it to the AFC championship.

It's not just ONE practice, it is majority of them. Ozzie bringing him in was a favor to Cam Cameron. I'm not saying bring in Vick or anyone but Beck doesn't deserve anything, he is worse than Todd Bouman...

Well, today was the only time I'd heard any true criticism of him so, unless you want to provide some evidence to prove me wrong, I'm just going to take what you just said as ignorant and unfounded.

Since when is Todd Bouman associated with "bad"? He never touched the ball in a Ravens uniform but still helped Flacco understand the offense. I don't understand..

I [i]have[/i] been to training camp and the little bit I actually saw of Beck's performance didn't jump out at me as overly poor. I follow training camp news regularly, as well, and I haven't heard anything damning him to [i]"100x worse than Kyle Boller"[/i], he seems just like a fairly decent QB. I think all of this hostility is coming from him possibly challenging Smith for the back-up QB job.

I don't care if he challenges Smith for the back up job. But he better start sometime because the performances he has shown are not impressive at all. Not saying Troy is either right now.

And I said I will check my camera to see if I have any footage of Beck, didn't say yes or no but the fact that he would be on there was because I was watching the defense and the running backs rotate while he was doing the screen passes and handoffs. But you would know that cause you went to TC, right?

I've been to multiple training camp practices, they're not a big deal, I don't know who you're trying to impress or why you're refuting the fact that I did. But, again, I haven't heard or seen anything "horrible" about Beck until the news today that he fumbled a couple of snaps and threw some errant balls. I still don't see how you can claim with such brashness that Beck will be gone..

Who doesn't just LOVE debating the backup's backup? I know I do

I was just more calling out the arrogance with which he made that claim. I'm all for a debate but people have to reinforce their arguments.
