Heyward-Bey @ Raiders Camp

12 posts in this topic

I know there were a lot of Heyward-Bey fans wanting us to get him, and maybe I kinda did too. So far, I'm glad it didn't turn out that way.
Anyone else read the article? DHB camp article
Struggling to get a grip. Funny title
Looks like the scouts were right, and Al Davis just saw the speed. But of course, it's still too early to say, and I'm still looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field in a real game.

EDIT: Oops... This should probably be in the Other Teams section.

Can i say, "I told you so?"

I have always said that Hey Bey is a project was very over-hyped

Take off the Maryland glasses people

Yeah, not sure why the Raiders passed so many other good WRs to get him. It seems all the go after is flashy speed, which Heyward-Bey is. Isn't he a converted track star?

You answered your own question - Al Davis loves speed and will obviously sacrifice whats left of his brain to obtain said speedy WR

Dont go bashing the kid now. The majority of you would be defending his poor performance had the Ravens drafted him. The love for him on this board was crazy this off season. Every wr thread turned into a draft DHB thread, no matter what incoming rookie the thread was about.

On another note, I do think he rebounds but its going to take a while. DHB is truely going to be a 3 year development project.

I was never on the DHB bandwagon, but didn't Randy Moss prove that you don't have to be terrible to play terribly in Oakland?

I don't know much about college players, so I didn't post either way, but, yeah, I do remember a lot of posts on this board with people wanting DHB here in Baltimore. I think people are dumping on him now just because he's not a Raven. Give the poor kid a chance. Maybe he'll get better, maybe not, but it's still early.

Give him the same break you all gave Flacco in the post about him tossing interceptions in training camp. It's early.

DHB is not a Raven and therefore does not deserve my sympathy. :)

I think he has potential, (don't get me wrong, I wasn't one of the ppl begging for us to draft him, I wanted us to draft a DE, but Oher works nicely :P)
once he gets in the game, and starts getting the hang of it, he could be very scary.... it seems to me that he is either going to be a Home Run... or gone down swinging... no in between
