Week 7: Baltimore Ravens At Buffalo Bills

You're all losing hope so quickly when there's still a little bit of time left on the clock and Buffalo called a timeout on 4th down.

Doesn't Brian understand that he isn't working with Tom Brady, its Kyle Boller. You have the third best running back in the NFL with a timeout and plenty of time left on third and one. Why would you go out of the shotgun, twice, with one yard left.

Miracle return TD increases Figurs value over AP? neither the former or the latter could happen, but it would be nice.

There is 8 seconds left.

i dont want to admit it, but i want mcnair back. while watching that game, there were so many things boller could have done which he didnt. with mcnair resting next week, he should be great at the steelers game. i guess for me, bollers to jumpy. it seems like to me his body will do whatever it sees first without it all processing in his brain or something. ahah.

The pessimism here is killing me.

You're not looking at the long scheme of things.

First off, this game wasn't nearly as important as a divisional game. The only way it'll matter is if a tiebreaker is necessary at the end of the season.

Second of all, at least we didn't have any significant injuries (that I know of).

Third, at least we were able to get a couple of big plays here and there, after weeks of no offensive explosion whatsoever.

Yes, it's not too much to ask to score a TD occasionally. But we did just that today. Two, in fact.

Considering how mediocre our offense has been at times, at least we're not cringing like during the San Francisco game.

Yes, we lost. But big deal. We have a much more important match-up against the Steelers on Nov. 5th.

These next two weeks we have up until that game is extra preparation to try to get an edge over the current divisional leader.

As long as we win out the rest of our four divisional games, we still have a shot at the title.

Division title = playoffs. Remember?

And even if we don't get the title, we still have a shot at the wildcard if we just keep winning, period.

It's called Boller trying not to get killed, and still make a play. McNair won't be any better next time he plays. And you have to admit, McNair would have never thrown a block, or sacrificed his body the way Boller did. We really need a healthy offensive line, or we'll never have a the best potential performance out of either quarterback.

if we dont win the division, we need these easy wins to get us the wildcard. which we just cant do! we should have won this game, we should have won the bengals game, and we should have won the browns game. we had those games right infront of us and we couldnt pull it out. end of story.

just look at my screenname. Boller has his massive faults, and McNair has his massive problems. Put their positives together and you have almost half of a Tom Brady.

problem is, we are Supposed to KILL teams like Buffalo If we are to have a chance against Pittsburgh. After watching that game I say we lose both to pittsburgh, lose to the browns, pats, chargers, and colts, win against cincy and other and end up 7-9 and have no chance of a postseason. Even if we do make it we lose in the first round to NE or Indy anyways.

I must add that we don't have the COACH, the O-LINE, or the RECIVERS, that Brady has the LUXURY of playing with.

But that's dwelling on the IF's and SHOULD'VE's of the past.

What happened, happened.

I'm looking to next week now against the Steelers.

And besides, even IF we don't win the division, who said the easy wins are what'll get us to the playoffs? There's still the Chargers, Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, and Seahawks to play outside of our division.

Being a champion is never easy, remember?

Don't give up hope so easily when we've just barely hit the midway point of the season.

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

It's the NFL. There's no such thing as a game you're SUPPOSED to win. That's why everyone brings up parity in the league as the reason why any team can win on any given Sunday.

These players wouldn't be in the NFL if they weren't good enough to win, period. They're all playing at a much higher caliber than college and high school, hence why lots of players never transition to the professional level.

Even the worst teams find ways to win. And Buffalo is far from one of the worst teams, despite their record.

W/L records are misleading, which is how trap games like this one happen.

I can't say I was shocked that we lost, but I can't say I didn't expect to win, neither.

But again, it's any given Sunday. And it's time for all of us to just move onto the MNF game against Pittsburgh.

It's been "erased", so let's just pretend it didn't happen, okay?

Lets look at the long scheme of things: we have the hardest second half schedule in the NFL after having one of the easiest opening schedules.

Sorry If you dont agree, but when I saw this game on the schedule at the beginning of the season I said we should win, and 1 second before the opening kickoff I expected us to win. We didnt win when we could/should have, bottom line.

We need a REAL Offensive Coordinator......Why would any coach call 2 passing plays we we need to get back to our bread and butter and run the ball. That unaceptable play call cost us the game!!!!!!

That unaceptable play call cost us the game!!!!!!

But, on the other hand, the play calling earlier in the 4th quarter got us back in a game that the defense was giving away.

Yes, we may have a tough second-half schedule.

But it's not as if it's impossible to pull out a win.

Each divisional game is definitely bound to be close but winnable, as we've all seen in the past. So no need to examine those games.

Playing in San Diego may be a tough test, but we've held L.T. before and we can do it again. Plus, they're not as cohesive on both sides of the ball as they were last season.

Playing at home against New England on Monday Night Football will arguably be our toughest test. But the home-field advantage will play a factor. And the Patriots are bound to lose at some point, since the talks of them being undefeated is bound to result in an upset like when the Colts had their undefeated streak the past few seasons.

Following that game with another home game against the Colts on Sunday Night Football is bound to be another tough test, but nothing too impossible. We've kept Peyton Manning out of the endzone before, we though we lost last time while doing so, it's rare that lightning will strike twice for them in that department.

The road trip to Miami might be another trap game, but their defense isn't what it used to be, and their offense lacks explosion when they need it the most.

And then traveling to Seattle the following week will definitely be another tough test given their home crowd. But Matt Hasselbeck hasn't been playing like his Pro Bowl self, and Shaun Alexander is definitely missing Mack Strong.

My point is, it's not IMPOSSIBLE to come out of that tough stretch with a winning record.

After all, Ravens football has never been pretty. But it's been effective.
