And what exactly is your position in the front office?
Any word from somebody associated with the team?
I would have no problem with it, its a nice thought

2 years ago if someone said it would take 2 first round draft picks for the Ravens to acquire Michael Vick, everybody and their mama would have been clamoring for us to make that trade. I don't think anybody who's somebody would have even given 2 spare shiz when told we jus picked up his $140 Million dollar contract cuz it would've been worth every cent. 2 years ago if someone told you Vick would be a Raven you would have passed out from celebrating too hard. You would have cheered like the skies parted on Gameday and an escalator fell from the heavens to the 50 yard line with the "WE READY" theme music playing in the background as lightning flashed on cue to the exact beat of the bass, and Jesus Christ himself came hovering down the stepd in a Ravens uniform, with no pads, no helmet, just the dark visor, chanting to himself "I'm Ready, I'm ****** Ready" when all of a sudden you hear on the loud speakers, "and now...coming in at 5 foot 9 inches, weighing 185 lbs...give it up for your starting quarterback...Jeeeesusssss "the holy laaaammmbbbb...CRA! CRA! CRA! CHRIIIIIIISSSSTTTTTTT!!!"... Back then if someone told you Vick would be a Raven you would have broke your hand in 11 places from high fiving people all day....

....now we have a chance to sign Vick at vet minimum...without having to give up any draft picks...and your telling me NO WAY???

Whaaa????

I bet if he drowned a bunch of stray ally cats in a small creek out back of Cracker Barrel nobody would have given a dam. Now everybody is Holier than Thou riding their high horse saying Vick doesn't deserve a 2nd chance.

Blah...thats how I feel about it. I say sign him, put him on the field behind Flacco every other down as a RB/WR/QB and get crazy wit it.

Vick 09!
Uh, I have NEVER liked Vick. He's a runner that can throw a football....sound familiar? Two years ago, I would have shot myself if he was our quarterback. Same holds true today. He is a piece of **** as a person and VERY mediocre as a QB....no thanks!

Must just be my knowledge of football, knowing the way the Ravens are as an organiztion and common sense.

i would prefer vick than Troy Smith. Ideally id like to trade Smith for a late 3rd or 4th rounder and then sign vick to a 1 year deal. Smith will eave after this year anyway and why not give our offense a huge spark. Vick has 4.3 speed and is electrifying.

I am 100% for signing Michael Vick
Its not a given that Smith leaves after this year. He's a 3rd year player, so with or without a new CBA he's not an URFA. He will probably be given a pretty low tender but we've still got right of first refusal. No team is going to pay him anything we couldnt reasonably match. I've been saying it for a while now and I will say it again, the Ravens will have Troy Smith for at least 1 more seasons beyond this year. I just dont see any team willing to break the bank for a backup or take a chance on him as a starting QB, without him proving himself first. They wont give up the drafts picks and they wont give up the money.

Every day there is a new article on about Michael Vick and a different team. Yesturday was the Steelers, today is the Packers...when will this STOP. Only talk about Michael Vick and his impact on a team, WHEN HE IS ON A TEAM. Or only make one article that says yes and no to all 32 teams.

Say no to Vick.

Well, really you can say what you want but I'd rather not have him come here. The Ravens got a good thing going for them these days (image-wise) after all that bs surrounding 'em a few years back. I don't hear people calling us the "Jailbirds" anymore and anybody who had something against Ray has basically shut up by now since he's been nothing but a model citizen. Bringing Vick here would just be a distraction, and would bring more negatives to the team and the city than anything he could produce on the field.

Sacrifice the respect the Ravens have earned for a few gadget plays? A QB that can run when we have one that can pass? We have plenty of capable backs already, and our team is better off without him and his drama. So I think not.

So Vick might not have 4.3 speed anymore. But i bet ya he still runs it in the 4.4's
Thats better than Troy Smiths 4.7

And Vick isnt definitly suspended the first 6 games. He could be playing week 1 for crying out loud. Although its unlikely lol.

Vick would be great for us IMO

I am proud about the quality of the organization from top to bottom. I would lose a little respect for the Ravens organization if we signed Vick. I don't know about anyone else, but I am so sick of the whole "jail birds" talk that persists from year to year. It is my Raven's pet peeve. Even though almost every NFL teams have more infractions from year to year, the Ravens can't shake the "criminal" identity. I love that we are considered "bullies", and don't mind that we don't get much media love. I also don't mind being not nationally popular and always being the "dark horse". I truly don't care what others think, but I'm just sick and tired of hearing the criminal line.

I know the "Play Like a Raven" is for the most part a marketing move, but if they are pushing this "company line" then they better stand behind it. Play Like a Raven: passion, strength, good character, courage, intensity, humility, determination, intelligence and pride to compete at the highest level. Vick doesn't embody a couple of those characteristics. The Raven's shouldn't touch him

Only reason why we would sign Vick is to use him as a situational "gimmick" player. But seeing as we already have a speedy QB in Troy Smith I think talking about Vick coming to Baltimore is useless

Yea, and he would probably want to start, too. And that won't happen unless Flacco gets hurt.

well i guess you have more learning to do

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2009-07-30-michael-vick-list_N.htm

Baltimore Ravens: Head coach John Harbaugh acknowledged that the Ravens have considered Vick. "We've had long discussions about (Vick) and we have a feeling about how he would impact our team and not impact our team," Harbaugh said.

The Ravens look at every prospect on the market as any smart, responsible organization would. They said the same thing about Matt Jones but, obviously, neither are here and, even more obviously, the have no place on this team.

So ESPN Insider is reporting that were one of the last three teams to be somewhat interested in vick. I dont have insider so i dont know what it says but, I do know that the packers have said they dont want vick and that they have their qbs in aaron rodgers, Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn.. Also have heard that pats owner Robert Kraft is reportedly not interested whatsoever.. the same has comne from belichick...

I havnt heard anything about wether the ravens were a solid yes or no. (obviously)..

What could ozzy be cooking up? and personally, i really want vick here. I think he would make our suggs package and wildbird offense SO much more dynamic.. We could put vick in the slot as a reciever and troy at qb and flacco as reciever and really confuse defenses.. there is soo much we could do.. and it doesnt hurt that vick is fassstttt

I have insider and the only reason they are saying the Ravens are interested is because when they asked Harbaugh about it, he said that him and Ozzie and the F.O. had talked about the positives and negatives of bringing him in. While other teams are flat-out denying it (even though you know damn near every team did the same), Harbs was honest about it.

Who wants Vick in Baltimore? Not me, we already have two good QB. I'd already love to see Troy on the field more, and that would never happen if Vick came in town

Thank you!

I've been around long enough to know the difference between genuine interest in a player and a polically correct answer.

Troy doesn't draw the entire media circus that Vick would. Troy has been in football for the last two years. We know what we have in Smith, Vick is an unknown.

But the BIG thing is that he would draw so much negative media attention and a poor reputation to this team and this front-office. He wouldn't be on the field for us until Week 8 so, ask yourself again, why get Vick?

LOL. I don't generally say "eh?" at the end of my sentences, but if I did, I would have come by it naturally. I do have Canadian heritage, and a lot more than 2%!

[can't watch youtube at work, will have to remember to check them out over the weekend]

Not to mention, Harbs like guys that don't get into trouble (could be the reason why Marshall wasn't brought in).

The only good thing about adding vick as a WR (not a QB) is that we will pay almost nothing for him because right now he is worthless on the NFL market. Vet Minimum anyone?

I think we would be lucky to get Vick. We would get him at a bargin first of all. Our locker room belongs to Ray and he can get anyone to conduct themselves as a professional so I think there wouldnt be any chemistry problems. Flacco is our guy at QB but even putting Vick back to return kickoffs would be an upgrade for us. Vick is possibly the most gifted player to ever put on shoulder pads. I think any time you can add a player with his ability, the team gets better. Baltimore is a city that knows about second chances, and winning as well as Vicks conduct will cure any negitive distractions. Sign him! Dont let the Steelers get him!
