Now reports of Big Papi and Manny used juice (what else is new?), it seems that all my childhood baseball heroes used steroids.

But not much about steroid use in football have come out. But what if all these reports start coming out that in the past 10 years all these big name football players used steroids. Would you care much? Would you start to bash and taint the players like baseball has done? Or since football is more physically demanding then baseball, would you understand and not care as much about the use?

I dont know but I think the MLB just needs to release all the names at once. And today Jose Canseco said that he knows of a player in the HOF thats used steroids and I want to know who it is. Maybe the newly inducted Rickey Henderson? It has to be someone who has been inducted in the last few years

As strange as it sounds, if steroids were ever allowed in professional sports and everyone started to juice up legally, I think most athletes would be deterred once they see the side effects. Other than premature baldness and shrunken testicles, the likelihood of injury is increased. Once injury reports start to grow as a result of increased ligament tears, athletes will understand the dangers even more.

Well, the way I see it is that athletes of all sports are paid to showcase their natural talent, for us fans.... Its a privilege to play professional sports, and the way I see it is when an athlete does something dumb.. like use steroids (among other things of which I'm not going to say so this doesn't get political) ... but to me thats like somebody spitting on someone's dream

not to mention, NFL players are one of the most regarded athletes in the world, and every time there is a report of some matter whether it be drugs, guns, etc. It brings down how people view the league

Same for me, if Griffey Jr's name is on that list, I will probably stop watching MLB. He is like a hero right now for putting up so many home runs and missing several years.

If I remember correctly the Steelers were juiced up in the 80's? Maybe the 60's? I cant remember the years, but ESPN did a show about it.

As someone said before, athletes are paid to show off their "natural" talent for us fans. Like Tito Ortiz said if a player is found using steroids they should be suspended for a year. But not the ones back in 2003 because that is in the past, plus they were told they would be remain anonymous.

That's one of the things that bothers me about these names being released. Even though I'm curious as to who these people are, I'd rather not know unless all the names are released. It defeats the purpose of these players being candid or honest about their past steroid use, and it deters more athletes from coming forth and admitting what they did in private or public. However, I definitely see a point where people get so desensitized to the reality of steroids in baseball (and much of professional sports, for that matter) that the general public just stops caring. I hope we never reach that point, but if athletes' names keep getting leaked out in such a deceptive manner, I can see the weight of these leaks being decreased over time.

Think of it as hearing about an incident in the news. We'll say, a murder for example. We hear about a particularly gruesome case for the first time, and we're shocked. But then as the cases pile up, equally gruesome in nature, and we keep hearing about these murders day-in and day-out, we pretty much stop caring until something even more shocking happens. News, both in sports and in the world at-large, has a desensitizing effect once repetition comes into play. Why do you think people are so indifferent to violence these days? (And I'll stop there at the rhetorical question before it gets political).

It was the Super Steelers of the 70's whom used Steriods and it was no big secret. A bunch of them died VERY early in life.

I just hope Cal ripken Jr isn't on the list. As for Griffey, hes one of the BIGGEST Jerks in Baseball.

It's funny that this topic comes up when I was thinking yesterday that there haven't really been any reports of steroid use in the NFL in recent years.

That being said, I would be extremely disgusted if I found out that there were players juicing up, especially if it was one of our own. I'd like to believe that it's through the hard work of our players and coaches that the best team wins, and it's not because some of the players on that team were taking a hypodermic in the ******.

I'm in agreement with others, MLB should just fork over the list and let all players involved be judged by the court of public opinion. If it was supposed to be anonymous anyway, why did the players union hang onto the list rather than destroy it all those years ago?

I expected Harrison too. Not because he's a Steelers, but he went the practice squad to a DPOY in like two years.

that should be for the first offense, 2nd offense they should be expelled from whatever league they're in....

no offense, but did you just seriously compare steroid use to murder? lol

I get what your saying though, just pulling your strings lol
