Alex was sacked on the first drive and got smashed into the ground on his throwing shoulder...the DT Bernard like leaped at Smith jumping onto him and driving him into the ground......horrible attempt at a sack......could of just thrown him down not used his 300 pounds of lard to jump onto Alex so now were stuck with Trent Dilfer...for maybe a month...we'll know more today of how long Alex will be out but don't expect to see him sunday.

That's awesome, not for Alex, sorry about that. But the fact we are playing against Dilfer, should be exciting.

might give our D a chance to rest and maybe make some plays, build their confidence back up at the least.

I don't follow the NFC; therefore, I know little about the 49rs outside of Nolan's attire. Is your offense as bad as their 32 ranking? I did watch the tail end of the 49rs-Seahawks game - your team looked pretty flat. Dilfer looked OK.

Football "related" question: where is a good place to tailgate at Candlestick that's open to the public on a cash basis?

I saw that hit on NFLN, did he get a 15 yard unsportsman penalty? Alex Smith looked like a pancake.

Nope no penalty whatsoever. It was a ridiculous sack because he lept at him from what you probably saw.

Our offense is non-exsistant right now because our Offensive line looks like 5 traffic cones out there in there place. Frank is not getting yardage during his runs because there are no holes up the middle and our OC thinks running up the middle will be the best. When Frank goes to the outside he picks up his most yardage. Vernon Davis was out for the game but I'm not sure if he'll be playing against you guys this sunday..

The best place to tailgate is inside the stadium parking lots...if you don't have a pre paid parking pass you can show up early and get in for 25$. They let people do that for about a hr 1/2 then at around 9:30 they only let in people with pre paid parking passes. If you show up early enough you can get in for 25$. Gates open 5 hours prior to kickoff so.... 8 amish are when gates open!

i knew that that Trent was still playing, and that he was with the 49er's as well...it'll be a nice re-union to see Trent again with B-more (just on the opposite side) but we REALLY need this win....hopefully the Bengals lose tonight, just to add to it.... but before we can win this next game, we need Serious work on offense and defense about Scoring, getting the ball down field, taking the ball away, not giving up the ball (turnovers) and the Defense needs to Create turnovers...like Whoa!

I thought for sure I'd be seeing this game, seeing as there are only two 4:15 games on CBS, but of course we're stuck with Denver and SD for some unknown reason. I have no clue about how it is decided what games get shown where, but it just doesn't make sense to show a game invlolving 2 teams from the other side of the country, when there is a game that has a team from a few hundred miles away. I so wish I had Direct TV. Right now it looks like the only time I'm going to see the Ravens play is on Monday or Sunday night or if a game ends early I might get the end of a game (I saw Stover's game winner against Arizona last week).

Oh well, rant over. I hope we can get our act together and get our guys back there to show Trent how much we missed him.

This game looks to be dominated by inferior offensive play. I hope that our team can regroup and come out with a good showing. The frustrating thing about our offense is that it's pretty much only improved on paper from the unit that last year allowed Gore to run wild. I hope they find themselves this week and, unfortunately, against your Ravens.

Everyone respects the Ravens defense and it will be a tall task for our offense to "find itself" against the Ravens minus our starting tight end and quarterback. I need to keep faith that it can be done.

On another note, I was really hoping the 49ers would draft Jared Gaither in the supplemental draft. How has he looked and been playing for you guys thus far? Worth the 5th round pick???

NOTE: What's up Jerm? It's Pound th' Rock from the 49ers MB!

Ok, for this week I'm going to think of the big picture. In the next few weeks we got 49ers, rams and bills. I really think we can be 5-2 going into pittsburgh. Against the 49ers, look to see

Solid running, 25-28 carries

Simple effective defense now that ray called out rex ryan.

Hopefully rolle will be back which means solid coverage.

More sacks since dilfers in, 4 at most.

A pissed off defense looking for a blowout, I haven't seen them mad all year but losing to the browns might change things around.

I'm looking for a 24-9 win in San Fran. Willis with 2 tds.

Been here for a bit just to talk to Tiz but now I'm ready to ask these nice Ravens fans to take it easy on Trent and our Traffic Cone O-Line :P

LOL! there was nothing easy about last weeks game either with the Browns running the ball with Jamal, our franchise leading rusher, and our defense held him to 64 yards on the ground and under 100 yards for the entire day...PLUS we need this win haha :P...i dont think that the Ravens Defense will take mercy on Trent lol even though he won a SuperBowl with us lol ;):PBUT we'll just have to wait and see what happens

Gaither's been doing relatively well from what I've read. He's a massive guy with all the physical tools to be a JO-type tackle, but he's extremely raw at the moment.

Definitely excited about this weekend's game, will be neat to see Dilfer on the field with the Ravens again...

Gaither is a BIG, Powerful Tackle, Build kind of identical to JO...the only difference is that JO is a long time veteran and a 10 time pro bowler....Gaither is very talented at what he does, and at times you can definately see the Potential that he has to offer us....i think that by next season or mid-way of next season, Gaither will be alot more developed as a Player and someone who knows what he is doing a little better than he does this season....after all....he is doing a phenominal job right now as a raw talented rookie....think about next season and what he has to offer us....thats like saying "DANG!!!!!"

This type of move sounds kinda familier...

A few years ago we had a big boy named Tony Siragusa do something very similar to Rich Gannon in the AFC championship game.

Gannon stayed in there though until McCrary finished him off.

Regarding Gaither...

Dude is tremendous in side and appears to be extremely athletic for his size.

He hasn't really seen the field in the regular season that I can recall, but was a monster for the majority of the pre-season games.

My understanding is that if he would have stayed in school and went into the regular draft he was projected to be a late 1st or early 2nd round type pick.

He's still very young and has a ways to go in development, but for a 5th round pick I think he was a steal considering his potential and what he's already shown.

Gaither is definately someone who can excel at what he does on the field, who cares that he didnt wait a year lol all that really matters is that we Drafted him and he's now under the BEST guidence he or ANY offensive Line man could ever ask for, being taught and guided by 10 time Pro Bowler, Super Bowl Champion, Future Hall of Famer..Jonathan Ogden

ozzie knows talent when he see's it and boy we sure got a Guy that is truly Gifted with Gaither and someone who is a EXCELLENT athlete.....he can only get better and better as the year progresses and as time goes on....the possibities are endless for him on how far he can go...All that for a 5th round pick....what a steal!!!! i tip my hat once again to Ozzie and his staff for doing a Brillant job :) :)

Ozzie's a hell of a steal himself imo, he's brought us nothing but talents (for the most part) to our team since he got here. As for Gaither, he was decent in preseason, but he's definately still a rookie. Besides, the Terry/Yanda combo is doing pretty damn good right now.

Ozzie has Proven his Value to us and this organization and time and time again, gone out with scouts and scouted the best players for us, or Top players that he thinks could really benefit, for him to go after and for us to mentor and tutor them into the great players that they are and have become.....amazing if you sit down and really really think about what ozzie has done for us as a whole and as a team to help this organization out
