Recent articles have again mentioned the possibility of Baltimore trading for Marshall, after losing out on Drew Bennett and (sadly) seeing little positive signs of a Mason return.

Let's not forget, Mason is the only reason we made it through the Dallas game, and all the way to the AFC Championship. He was playing out of his mind, basically with ONE ARM!

Let's not play down how much of a loss this is, instead, let's use it as a rare opportunity to find value for the future. We all know Ozzie will not trade a first-rounder, which he probably shouldn't for a disgruntled WR. I would suggest something like a 2nd rounder next year, and a 2nd or 3rd the year after depending on how many starts Marshall makes. The kid is a beast, and I think he would be quickly tamed by a fearsome Ravens locker room run by Ray Ray.

Talk about protecting Flacco by selecting Oher? Of course that was a smart pick by a smart staff, but the real protection would be another big target with downfield speed as well. This is a real opportunity. I'm glad we didn't select a wide in a weak draft (lots of talent, very little polish, ALL undersized!), especially when a "sure thing" in terms of productivity can be had for a few 2nd rounders.

As far as Vick, we have had "a-great success!" using trick plays with Flacco and Smith (so underrated...). We used a variation of the Wildcat with some success, and after the Dolphins and other suitable teams have closed the door on Mike, we could steal him for very little. He is clearly the best-suited QB of his generation to these types of trick plays, because he can burn a DB on a flea flicker, fire it far downfield, or turn nothing into something if the defense jumps the direct snap.

Today's articles have detailed organizations like the Bengals, Broncos, and Dolphins slamming the door shut on a move for Vick. Harbaugh is the only coach to say publicly that he is considering/assessing Vick as a potential addition.

Talk about huge upside - Lewis returned from a scandal to lead us to a Super Bowl. Both of these players (Marshall & Vick) are, I believe, worth the substantial risk involved. Fans will no doubt be turned off by a Michael Vick signing, but Baltimore is a rough place and dogfighting exists (makes me want to vomit, but it's true) in our city. Harbaugh (and Ray Ray...) will have them both on a short leash, and I'm sure it will be clear to both of them that they are far from being our team's number one priority.

FANS! LET'S PUT SOME PRESSURE ON OZZIE/JOHN TO MAKE A MOVE FOR MARSHALL, AND CONSIDER SIGNING VICK!!

Ravens -> Super Bowl winners, 2010.

I CO-SIGN THIS STATEMENT!

We'd start a dynasty...We'd win multiple championships...It'd be a great story, movies would be made about it...

unfortunately dreams only come true in fairytales...

but man...vick and marshall...wow...and flacco..and rice...and our defense...and a young coach not afraid to push it and try new things...wow...WOW...we could change the whole game up!!!!

Those would be some exciting and interesting moves. Ever since Harby became coach we have had a lot of fun in the press.

Why, in all of these hypothetical threads, does it fall on Ray Lewis and the Ravens organization to babysit these bad seeds?

Shouldn't they be focusing on winning football games instead of giving Brandon Marshall a curfew? Playing in the NFL is a huge responsibility and a glorious privilege, I don't think people who repeatedly abuse that should be a part of our team.

I think you guys aren't looking at this from both sides - Ok, the Ravens could use Marshall, no question (at least on the field, anyway). But what do the Ravens have that Denver wants? Of course, there's always draft picks, but the Ravens are likely to have a strong season, meaning that a Ravens 1st round pick falls deep in the 1st round*. So I think the Ravens would have to part with a player in any package.

So, what do the Broncos need? And what do the Ravens have a surplus of?

Answer those questions first.......and then maybe we'll be on to something. :P

* - preferably the last pick in the round. :)

Paying a little more attention to someones off the field actions is ok if their on the field actions consist of 1000 yards, 100 catches and 8 tds.

Id imagine a 1st and 3rd would land us Marshall if we so choose.

Either way nothing is going to happen until we know for certain mason isnt coming back.

-BREAKING NEWS: Marshall left training camp today after he released to the press that he's been sitting out during training camp because he has refused to participate. He continually hollered and demanded to be traded at the Front Office. The Broncos then received calls, but ultimately chose one team who offered a first and seventh round pick of the 2010 draft along with a high 2011 draft pick. It is unconfirmed, but a rookie is included in this package. The team has been announced as the Baltimore Ravens who led in the offers. Brandon Marshall will arrive in Baltimore by early Friday morning and will participate in all training camp activities. Ozzy Newsome said that he realized in order for this team to go to the Superbowl that they would need more wide outs who were proven. He also said that to be able to get a wide receiver that good, it was worth giving up a first round pick which he claims he would have most likely used in next years draft on a wide receiver.-

AHHH WE SIGNED BRANDON MARSHALL!!! Can you believe it?

Hahaha. Just imagine though, how would you be if we signed him? Everyone keeps getting our hopes up, so I'm just curious if people will go crazy, or be like, what ever I was totally expecting that.

I get what you are saying, but they are not mutually exclusive. Many teams have won championships while babysitting, often on the shoulders of those they babysit. *cough* Moss *cough* Burress. Being babysat doesn't translate into loss of football talent.

To be honest, I was hoping that I was going to post that, and then the Ravens were going to confirm that we signed him :).

What would you honestly do though, if we signed him?!

We need this move to happen. If there is any chance at all of getting Marshall the Ravens need to take the steps needed to get him. Marshall would instantly make our offense better. I hope this gets done, we have been in need of a #1 reciever for years now.

For the last couple weeks, I have been torn about this. But over the last few days I've started to lean in the direction of not going after Marshall. I think we need to pocket the money so that we can resign Ngata and Gaither in the near future. How do we know that our recievers are going to be so bad when we havent even given them a chance? Before we give an arm and a leg including a potential Ed Reed or Terrell Suggs when we give away 2 draft picks for a reciever who could get into trouble at any time, lets give the guys we have a shot.

But if I wake up tomorrow and see that we traded for Marshall, thats okay too. Because I know that we have the best guys in the NFL in our organization and I'm confident that whatever decision they make will be the right one.

What else is new? We seem to be eyeing every available wr there is according to the media and if we dont get a "real" wr, we are going to suck. This is typical media banter.

Randy Moss doesn't have any jewelry that really means something. And Burress wasn't a problem until after the SuperBowl. I get what you're saying that sometimes great talent comes with baggage but Marshall is a whole lot of baggage at a relatively high cost.
