Exactly... besides, Demetrius looks A LOT stronger and tougher this season; I think he's ready to step up his game and be that deep threat we need, with or without Mason.

I'd like to see Marshall in purple and black, but not for a 1st Round pick (or more), but I am not going to continue to speculate. What happens, happens, and I will stand behind our WR corp no matter who's out there.
From what I saw at the first day of training camp, Demetrius Williams looked horrible in the morning session. He was dropping easy balls from JOHN BECK. That is terrible when you are dropping balls from a noodle armed quarterback. How's he supposed to catch a ball from Joe? But that is just what I saw in the morning session. Just observing what i saw. Justin Harper looked really good from what i saw and clayton was catching anything that was put in the air.

Why not give up a first for marshall? If we were to use a first round pick on a wide receiver, why have to wait a few years before the receiver develops? You have a 25 year old stud, who is not even in the prime of his career. He is proven, so there isn't a chance of us drafting a bust of a receiver. I would give up a 1st and 3rd easily. Why the 3rd? Name some of our recent third round picks who have developed into a good quality starter. There aren't many that have panned out recently.

The only thing that has me worried is the cap room. Ozzie has said he wants to lock up Gaither and we have Clayton, D-Will and basically our whole recieving core and mostly Haloti Ngata who will be free agents. I ust hope if we do get Brandon Marshall, in which I'm all for it as I would gladly give up a 1st round pick for Marshall but if getting Marshall means no-resigning Ngata, Clayton, Jared Gaither than no I don't want him if he will hurt us in having no cap to re-sign nobody.

For Once, I actually am agreeing with Anita.... and I rarely agree with her. Why not go get Brandon Marshall... yeah there are tons of negatives but I think the positives out weigh the negatives. Plus he WANTS TO PLAY as a Baltimore Raven. If this don't hurt the cap than GO GET HIM OZZIE!!
Well with Clayton and Dwill unless those guys have monster seasons it shouldn't be a problem resigning them. I can't see them commanding much money on the open market.

Haloti Ngata isn't scheduled to be a FA until after the 2010 season, but depending on what happens with the Bargining Agreement it might be later. However i think the Ravens would be smart to start working on Ngata's contract after this year.

Ngata is hitting his prime and will only get better, and with guys like Jamal Williams, Pat Williams, Casey Hampton, Shaun Rogers, Vincent Wilfork, and Richard Seymour, expected to hit the market in the next 2 years, there will be a lot of money tied into the DL position around the league.

Ngata will cost a lot of money either being franchised or resign. I think we might have to loss some guys like Pryce, Gregg, Bannan, Rolle, or even Heap to keep some of these younger guys.

i just read something on the denver broncos message board, a guy said they would give marshall only for a 1st + Ed Reed, i almost threw myself out of the window...
That's fan bias. There were some posts on this forum entertaining the idea of trading Troy Smith for a first round pick. He's not even worth a second.

That's pretty funny, I can't believe how arrogant that person is. Just thinking that marshall is worth more than Ed is stupid. Anyway let marshall stay there, I believe that when the protection is there for Joe, that he will get ball to someone out there. I just hope that Oher can protect that right side so that Heap and LJ can go out there. Instead of staying in and block. I think that when you have Mark, DWill, Heap and LJ running routes at the same time, that you don't need marshall.

My thoughts exactly

We should make this deal if it only costs us a first round pick. We would most likely pick a WR with the first round pick next year since there are so many of them that have potential, but why risk it? With BM, you get a proven talent. Flacco to Marshall just sounds right :D

I guess they do.

Hopefully,Demetrius is a good #2/3 WR,all he needs to do is stay healthy.I'm pretty sure if Ozzie really wanted Marshall he'd start clearing up cap space and trade for him,but I don't think McDaniels wants to destroy Denver even more, because if he gets rid of Marshall they only have Eddie Royal as a proven WR,and he can't carry that team by himself.

I am not saying these r the greatest receivers but keep in mind they still have stokley and gaffney. neither one of these guys r bad

Oh hell Anita Marks will never close her crusty yapper now
The bashing on Anita Marks is stupid. Just b/c she knows what she is talking about and isn't a goody good like Scott Garceau, Everyone hates her. She is smart and goes off of talent instead of a pointless bum that just has character. I agree with her 99% of the time. Come on people, just b/c shes right doesn't mean that you guys have to be hatin (;

What in the world? He's basically saying that Marshall is worth more than the best safety in the league.

He probably just isn't used to catching balls from a different qb. He may not have ever played with Beck...

Isnt Anita Marks the same idiot that was leading the bring Brett Favre to Baltimore campaign last off season? The same person that suggested we bench Flacco in the middle of the season, in order to evaluate another unproven QB, in Troy Smith? The same one that believed some team would offer Ray 20 million up front?

I am not a fan of Scott Garceau either, which ultimately is why I avoid that show by any means neccessary but Anita almost NEVER knows what she's talking about. She barely gets guys name right half the time. All offseason she kept calling Hakeem Nicks, Hakeem Hicks. I dont know how many times they corrected her and she still couldnt get it right.

No doubt he would be a huge upgrade, but you really don't know how long of a suspension he could ultimately get with his pending charges. He already has been suspended once before.

We could get him on the cheap considering his unknown suspension status and the fact that Denver's coach will have enough Bronco fans hating him for what he's done in his first offseason, he doesn't need Bronco players hating him as well.

So bring him, Vick, Plax, and any other undesirables into B-more. We are the team of ex-cons and harbaugh is depleting our street cred at an alarming rate.

What are these pending charges you speak of? Last time I checked, only Plaxico was facing pending charges not Brandon Marshall. I have checked everywhere I could and so far I have saw that there will be no other charges going against Marshall which means no suspensions.

Sorry, I thought we were assuming he'd slap a woman during the process of his re-location to Baltimore. Moving is stressful.

As long as we don't use our 1st round on other Travis Taylor or hate to say it whisper *mark clayton*. I think there is a larger risk to draft a bust WR than Marshall causing problems. Money is not the issue we Ozzie.

Money is almost never the issue. Money can be tweaked, made to disappear, money is malleable in a world where billionaires' use their bank accounts to put one number of men against another number of men to see who wins. The things that are regulated, like draft picks are the real currency..which is probably where the Ravens are having problems. The fact that Marshall isn't an angel isn't an issue, it is the fact that he has almost reached thug-like level - something the FO obviously wants to avoid.

I'd rather have a "thug" on the field than an angel on the bench. If we draft a WR in the 1st round he could end up on the Vikings or creating mayhem for being the possible #1.

Here we go again. Look as much as i would like to entertain the Ravens getting Marshall it wont happen. 1 the cost is going to be sky high. Besides dont we play them this year. I cant see them trading us a guy that will kill them in the future. Look we need a good solid young receiver to step up in camp and make them stop entertaining these crazy ideas. Although with the Marshall trade we will turn into an offensive team rather than a defensive one. Im excited about the o line and running game. Receivers not so much. Do we have any trade bait on d we could send them for Marshall? Thats the only way i can see anything getting done. ex.Kelly Gregg and Jarrett Johnson in a package deal. Just get Jarrettt Johnson off my team please.

This might be the best post on here. Finally someone that understands my plight. Look Plax or Marshall or Vick are upgrades at their respected positions on the field. I'm really not worried about there history with the law that will change when we bring these guys in. If not now then when because the way our team is set up we will need to use our first and second to move up in the draft and get someone good enough to play on our team. Be realistic we need a big physical receiver ....Hello we do play in the AFC North

You're telling me Vick is an upgrade over Joe? How so? Vick hasnt played in 2 seasons, yet people forget that. Being in shape and being in football shape, two vastly different things. I personally think Vick will get injured if he plays this year, he's already been injured a lot in his time in the NFL. The first smack may put him on the IR.
