Ravens Vs Steelers

19 posts in this topic

I was watching highlights of the week 15 Ravens vs Steelers game in Baltimore. I can't wait to play them! That game was so intense, and the Ravens gave them one hell of a fight. Mason should have had two TD's in that game, one was overthrown by Flacco after Mason had a few steps on Troy P, and the other was a jump ball in the end zone that Mason couldn't come down with (probably because of his shoulder injury) at the end of the day though, the Steelers drove 80yds and scored for the win with less then a minute left, they deserved the win. I just can't wait for Round 2!

Having the first meeting between a division rival at home is a big advantage, so I hope the Ravens take the opportunity and run with it. Send a message for the rematch game 4 weeks later in Pittsburgh. Take out all the frustrations from getting beat 3 times last year... and unleash them on the Steelers on Sunday Night.

I know it won't happen, because the tickets sell for incredible amounts... but it would be lovely if the PSL owners don't sell their tickets to Steelers fans.

Any rich Ravens fans in here? Buy up all the tickets to that game that you can find on ebay and stubhub. Even if the tickets go to waste... it keeps the bad elements out! :o) I'm surprised some players don't do this... use some of their huge paychecks and just buy up a bunch of tickets so opposing fans can't come in their house.

I think maybe the current economic situation might keep some of them away. It's hard to deny someone willing to pay upwards of 1g sometimes more for a ticket though. From people that I talked to that were at the game last season, there weren't many Steelers fans there.

All three Ravens-Steelers game were incredible. 42-35 shootouts are great but I really enjoy low-scoring, hard-hitting, defensive struggles. I can't wait till the teams play this year.

You know what I hate? How the Ravens asked not to play at Heinz field on primetime and steeler fans are like oo look they are scared. And then they say the Steelers will play anytime, anywhere. Are you kidding me? It's an unfair advantage that we have to play away on primetime for the 4th time in 5 years or is it 3rd time in 4 years. It's not like we are asking not to play them. Just not on primetime again. Or make a prime time game at M&T bank. It's ridiculous. I know that had nothing to do with this thread other than the fact it's steelers but I just had to say it. I can't wait till the rematch this year

I don't blame the Ravens for not wanting play the Steelers again in their house. Steelers fans can say what they want but I have a feeling the Ravens will take both games this year.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, lowrider. All the Ravens asked for was an even playing field and now the Steelers fans think they have something to gloat about. The Steelers would be asking for the same thing if the situations were reversed - and rightly so.

I do not know why it matter's. If we make the plays that we are supposed to we win the games. It does not matter where we or what time we play the steeler's. Last season our first game vs the steelers in prime time, the Raven's had Heinz field as quite as a public library and then the wheel's fell of the wagon. We did not make the play's!

But it does. On prime time games there is more pressure (and we don't do that great on prime time/monday night games). If the pressure is on I would rather have it with people cheering you on over yelling and hating against you. We didn't make plays but there is an advantage of home field advantage. And I think it should just be fair.

Maybe it doesn't matter but if the Ravens had played the Steelers at Heinz field in primetime again this year, it would've been three years straight. That doesn't mean they would've lost but why give them an advantage if you can help it?

Yeah, but you (and Warden) don't strike me as being "bad elements," aside from being Steelers fans, of course.

Here's something most really didn't consider about this, as a factor.

Are the Ravens afraid of the Steelers? Hell no.

Do they think they have an advantage at home on an opener? Maybe, but not with the new Harbaugh era.

What is important is that it's about being fair. The Steelers have had the openings and we haven't, and we've earned the right (now) to do that, so that was a request.

Also -- and here's what is not stated -- is that I really believe that by doing this there is that extra bit about bringing more money to Baltimore with a primetime game. The city needs the extra income, and the spotlight nationally is huge too. But in the end, the money (in this economy) really does add that extra bit to the request.

Just my thoughts. :)

I was at the game last year. 15 rows up, Ravens sideline, on the 25. Let me tell you there were some pretty vocal, obnoxious, and rude Steelers fans....but for the most part they were being drowned out by some pretty kick as$ Ravens faithful. Also saw a little fisticuffs as well. The Ravens fan clocked this sloppy drunk Steelers fan who spilled beer on his son...classic...Steelers fan couldn't do anything cuz he was surrounded by Purple.

I am predicting a 23-17 Ravens victory at M&T against the Steelers....Ravens will establish the run..interject some play action and TE involvement; and go deep a few times to loosen "Hairball" up in the secondary. He's gotta get that nappy weave donated to "Locks of Love"...

Headed to McDaniel.......Hope to see you all there!
