  1. Range - ramsey. Ballhawking - Thompson, due to smarts, lacks range. Fuller could be a ballhawking safety, vonn bell is seen as a SS but he is smart and rangy as well and could fit the modern prototype of the hybrid safety who doesnt have a true free or strong position. Cash, the dude from wv(drawing a blank on his name atm), cravens, killebrew, and basically most of the top 4 round graded safeties are more box guys. Jalen mills is the best coverage safety past the 2nd round but could be off of our boards, great instincts, range, and ball skills, and can man cover like a nickel corner
  2. ROUND ONE- VERNON HARGREAVES CB,FLORIDA- went back and forth between Buckner and Vernon.I'vgrown a bit tired of watching teams throw on us,particularly when it matters most. I've gotten tired of our db's failing to create turnovers and finishing behind linebackers and Ngata in interceptions. I'm tired of Andy Dalton owning us late in games and running what appears to be a seven on seven. Hargreaves is physical in run support, super smart and super instinctive. ROUND TWO- DARIAN THOMPSON-SAFETY, BOISE STATE.- the thought of this guy in tandem with Weddle is exciting. Film junkie, play maker, team leader, physical. Feels like a Raven. And while I can see eyes rolling on this one, it to me would be a case of best player available(don't see Spence making it). Projects as a strong safety. Like Hargreaves is instinctive and he has the best ball skills of any safety in this class. The only thing about him that gives me pause is how I fear we might use him. Please get this guy on the field and let him learn. Don't wait for everything to be perfect, make him have to prove himself on team's first, blah, blah. Trust the film on this guy. I think he's a pro bowl SS. ROUND THREE- WILLIE BEAVERS OL, WESTERN MICHIGAN- so close to taking CHARONE PEAKE here. It hurts a little because I think PEAKE is going to be star with the right team..hoping someone drafts him before Pittsburgh. I decided instead to invest in Beavers. I'm thinking this guy is it for us. A left tackle,I mean. My sense is that he could start initially at the guard position and wait for the inevitable(Monroe being injured). This pick is more than just prudent. It really hits on a lot of levels. His immediate versatility will be attractive to the Ravens who will coach him up. ROUND FOUR- JOE SCHOBERT LB,WISCONSIN- have you seen this guys tape? I must admit I hadn't until recently but man is he impressive. Great football player, period but he makes plays that leave you laughing and shaking your head. Super smart, assignment sound in coverage and against the run. Good tackler. Appears very comfortable, almost easy,if you will, doing whatever is asked of him.. I would consider trading up for this guy because frankly,I'm not sure he is still around. His big knock is probably his size and some suggest a move inside. Watch this guy if you haven't already. ROUND FOUR (from Denver)- HARLAN MILLER CB, SOUTHEAST LOUISANA- obviously a small school corner and I'm not sure if he goes earlier but there is a lot to like about him. Very competitive, fiery, good on teams. ROUND FOUR-(compensatory)-JAKEEM GRANT,WR, TEXAS TECH- just discovered this guy. Sometimes "for fun" I'll look at new videos on draft breakdown featuring a player I've not heard of,not knowing what position he plays. Grant is a must watch. Could be a slot receiver with huge...HUGE deep threat possibilities. Crazy speed.competitive and exceptional wiggle. From here I'll just list some guys I like. Not sure how they fall and frankly haven't spent as much time on them C/G- Graham Glascgow-(might be Scottish something tells me) DT- Hasaan Ridgeway C- Austin Blythe,Iowa- a late round favorite ILB-Nick Kwiatoski-West Virginia, especially good in coverage OT- Joe Haeg- North Dakota State WR-Kayarris Garret
  3. I think it's less that I dislike Schobert and more that I don't like how you waited to address a critically vital position. The Ravens don't exactly telegraph their moves, but we haven't signed a single pass rusher, my man. That tells me something. While it's true we haven't done anything with ILB, we did re-sign McClellan. He can admittedly play both, but I think he was signed to potentially sub into the ILB role next to Mosley. I think I'd like this mock if you didn't take Thompson. I get you like him, but I think he's a bad fit and I don't like him this early. Furthermore, I'd rather you take a pass rusher here. I think we would still have an option at a pass rusher, and I find it too important to not get one here after taking Hargreaves. That's my issue. I've seen some of Grant. I watched Texas Tech to watch Le'Raven Clark. I don't like how small Grant is. I get it not to judge a guy by his height, but he's 5'6. I wouldn't take him until the 6th round.
  4. I agree. I dont think you'll find much immediate needs being met past the 2nd round though, sometimes you luck out but not always. I used to like Thompson but now I think he's a reach there. So yeah I think that 2nd rounder was a wasted pick when you have guys like fackrell and Calhoun likely available. I still like schobert though. I think he's an OLB for us but just not a pure edge rusher. a guy who does the dirty work, he isn't gonna defend the run like Upshaw but he can cover much better and probably rush better as well. He's a more modern OLB than a guy like Upshaw who will have a similar role, not the flashiest numbers but provides an important service.
  5. To be frank, we absolutely need an edge rusher and that's my issue with taking Schobert in this scenario. Schobert is more like an ILB. While we need one of those who can cover, I like other guys better like Fackrell. I feel like if that position (edge) isn't addressed, we will be in some serious trouble. Look at this draft and tell me you are confident in our pass rushers going forward. If you say you are, I'll sell you some nice swamp land real estate in Florida. Sometimes you absolutely must go for need, and our situation at pass rusher requires it. Perhaps if he didn't take Thompson and took a pass rusher my opinion would be different, but as it is, I don't like this mock. I'd rather roll with Monroe at LT & not address LT than to not add another pass rusher early.
  6. No problem with taking Hargreaves. I'm not a fan of Thompson, especially as a second round pick. I like Beavers but I think third is a tad high for him and I like him better in the fourth. Schobert is a bit underwhelming tbh. I think the draft it's okay but I think we'll do better. I feel like this is a worst case draft for us. Like, we're having an unlucky draft kind of draft.
  7. I like Thompson but I feel 2nd round for a safety is to high considering the money we have in Webb and Weddle and we still have Brooks Elam who we need to see about especially Elam in the last year of his rookie contract as well as Lewis it's still a bit crowded to add a 2nd rounder. Also I think we need at least 2 edge rushers Suggs age and injury, Dumervil age and needs a strong rusher on the opposite side him, and Z. Smith is still young and we still need to see more. VH3 not my favorite but I like Beavers and Schobert
  8. Vonn bell in the 3rd if he's there should be a no brainer. He's one of the smarter safeties in this draft and he's less limited than Thompson physically. He strikes me as a smarter Terrence brooks
  9. I thought about those guys in the third as an alternative to Thompson.
  10. I used to love Thompson and had a first round grade on him, he's a smart player and a film junkie, but he's a strange safety.. He's big and very slow for NFL standards but played like a ballhawk in college. He looked slow on film but I disregarded it as he never really had to travel long distances often because he was always in the right spot, however his movement looked real ugly at the combine, he's slow and lacks fluidity. I think he's a old school SS at best who can cover TEs and really nothing more. I see him as a 3rd rounder after his combine confirmed all concerns regarding him. Otherwise I like it, especially round 1, 3 and schobert is my favorite mid rounder and I think He should be a 2nd rounder and I think hes a guy who scouts will like more than the media and very Well could go in the late 2nd, we see these kinds of things all the time
  11. Now,especially with Hill gone I would love Darian Thompson in the second. (SS) among my favorite players. not sure who my favorite match in round one might be.
  12. I don't think a hard nose can be taught. And I definitely don't think it can be taught for a guy who's tentatively running around on damaged nerves with a lanky and possibly maxed out 230lb frame lol. Also, I'll take darian thompson as a SS, rashard Higgins, Joe schobert, shon coleman, germain ifedi, any of them over Smith in the 3rd
  13. Thompson would be great for our 3rd pick.
  14. What would people think of Darian Thompson in the second?
  15. 1. Tennessee Titans - Laremy Tunsil - protect mariota, dont let him get beat on like last year, dont let this investment wash away via injuries, dont be the redskins. 2. Cleveland Browns - Carson Wentz - i think wentz surpassed goff at the combine, i think hue wants either of the top 2 qbs to begin his tenure and build the qb-less franchise 3. SD Chargers - Jalen Ramsey - they drain the clock here because their gut tells them bosa but the board says ramsey, ramsey ends up a brilliant replacement for weddle and spearheads the chargers resurgence. 4. Dallas Cowboys - Joey Bosa - damn you jerry, damn you.. 5. Jacksonville Jaguars - DeForest Buckner - perfect fit for gus bradleys unique front, their front seven would be near complete with this and then i expect them to pursue the secondary via FA 6. Baltimore Ravens - Myles Jack - when eric says we have it narrowed down to 2 guys, i think he means that depending on a qb going ahead of us he has 2 realistic options barring a big time faller, myles jack will likely be one of those 2 guys, with the next guy being whoever falls out of buckner or bosa. our priority would be tunsil, ramsey, bosa, jack, buckner, hargreaves i believe, so if no qb goes then we take hargreaves gladly, but in this scenario we get a classic ozzie pick, a possibly generational talent falls through the cracks due to positional value, we would like a pass rusher or a db here, but myles jack may be the 2nd most talented player in the draft and we are able to disregard positional value here because his talent is too immense to pass up in this scenario. 7. SF 49ers - Ezekiel Elliott - Frank Gore was their entire offense for nearly a decade, they appear to really want to appease kaepernick and keep him around, kaepernick isnt exactly an appropriate chip qb contrary to popular belief, but the FO is calling the shots here. still wanting to work with chip they get him a true replacement for frank gore, a rb who never leaves the field and plays at a very high level in every possible facet for a RB. it comes down to stanley or zeke as a bpa vs. sexy pick, they get sexy here. 8. Miami Dolphins - Vernon Hargreaves - i think its no secret that the dolphins are looking for a CB first and foremost, well its a perfect scenario for them as the top cb and one of the most pro ready corners ever falls to them at 8. 9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Ronnie Stanley - BPA at a positition of need, and a very important need for a team who recently invested in a franchise qb. they have an atrocious defense, but whats the point of drafting a franchise qb and getting loads of receivers and tight ends if your qb is on his back? passing up a day 1 LT who happens to be the BPA for a pass rusher here is a good way to further dig your team into a hole. 10. New York Giants - Sheldon Rankins - they are such a bad team, but the spot next to cullen jenkins may be the best spot to address right here, rankins is flying up boards and its between him and shaq lawson, but since JPP apears to be in their long term plans, they figure they can address pass rusher later. 11. Chicago Bears - Shaq Lawson - feels like an easy pick here, mcphee is their left side OLB and does a great job as their top edge rusher, but on the other end they need a complete package to really build a proper 3-4. shaq lawson is a stonewall in the run game and a refined and violent pass rusher, clear BPA. 12. New Orleans Saints - Noah Spence - in the finesse pass first division known as the NFC south, you have to be able to stop the pass, the best way to do that against the divisions top team is to rush the passer against their slow tackles, you also want to frustrate the sluggish and stiff matt ryan and famous jameis, if the NFC south qb's dont have time to throw, theyll struggle to beat you. the fastest edge rusher in the class gets to pin his ears back in NO playing DE rather than OLB 13. Philadelphia Eagles - Leonard Floyd - with the eagles foolishly thinking they have a qb, they take potentially the biggest splash pick here. Floyd brings great edge rush, great explosiveness, great instincts and smarts, length, range, motor, just an all around stud. they still need a qb and they have bigger needs elsewhere, but they certainly need help at the pass rush, and they get much more than a pass rusher, but a stud mover who can blitz all across the line and drop into coverage 14. Oakland Raiders - William Jackson iii - they desperately need a cb after hayden failed every bit as ugly as elams 2nd season with us, this guy could become the best cb in the league, already a great press and cover guy and a stupidly freakish athlete, he will blanket his guy as a rookie and watch out if he learns to turn his head around consistently. 15. LA Rams - Jared Goff - these folks are tickled pink that the hometown kid falls this far. the new era gets off to a good start in LA when Goff gets a hot hand with austin, add in gurley and they have the triplets of the league for the next few years. 16. Detroit Lions - A'Shawn Robinson - the champ falls quite a bit due to a slow 40 time, but this guy is a born leader, and a natural ball player. top 10 talent and great character guy who slides right into their 43 front that desperately lacks an interior presence. 17. Atlanta Falcons - Laquon Treadwell - mid teens is where tread finds his value, the falcons need an edge rusher but they also need a WR and there is no edge rusher anywhere near this value. great find here. 18. Indianapolis Colts - Kevin Dodd - they dont know what they need at this point, the colts are such a bad team with such a horribly managed roster that they could pick literally any player here except for a qb and they would find an upgrade, and they dont go BPA here at all, but they get a solid and versatile player, he can rush or set the edge and disrupt as an OLB, or he can play the 3tech and do anything they ask of him there as well, so they just get a versatile guy and hope he can do enough to justify the pick. 19. Buffalo Bills - Reggie Ragland - Rex needs a mike backer, he finds his mike backer. Rex had a hell of a love affair with Bart Scott and here he gets an improved, brainier version of the rough and rugged bart scott. 20. NY Jets - Shilique Calhoun - just feels like a good fit here, the jets will almost certainly address edge rusher here at all costs, calhoun isnt a horrible value, but they take the more NFL ready guy over vernon gholston 2.0 in ogbah. 21. Washington Redskins - Corey Coleman - I wanna say Taylor Decker or Conklin here but i just feel like something goes sour with jackson and they want to give cousins another target with a splash pick. 22. Houston Texans - Paxton Lynch - sweating bullets waiting for him to fall to them, and he does. easy choice here. 23. Minnesota Vikings - Josh Doctson - they need a big play threat but a dependable one after the nightmare they experienced with no-handed burner mike wallace. they get a less explosive wr but a much more sure handed and physical one, also being a high character guy allows for a nice core on offense. they wait it out with clemmings and kalil for 1 more season before looking for a solution, maybe they rebound. 24. Cincinnati Bengals - Andrew Billings - classic AFC north pick, they need to reload on the DL because the long time foundation of their defense is aging and contract years are coming, and you simply cant win the north without a DL, great steal here, teens level prospect. 25. Pittsburgh Steelers - Mackensie Alexander - BPA/need 26. Seattle Seahawks - Taylor Decker - top need, solid value, not a safe pick by any means as he has concerns, and personally i think spriggs is the safer pick, but decker at the least will hold up in the run game better than spriggs which is the Hawks first order of business. 27. Green Bay Packers - Darron Lee - run on OSU players, GB needs a linebacker and they also need a pass rusher, they take a guy who can potentially do both or potentially fail at both, with the NFC north being more speed and finesse ill go with the former and predict he does a pretty good job, could be a better player here but they get a solid guy. 28. Kansas City Chiefs - Robert Nkemdiche - they took a shot at a high ceiling character risk in marcus peters and he worked out, nkemdiche fills a need and has top 5 potential but with red flags both on and off the field, there isnt much value elsewhere right here that would make them want to pass up this potential on a rather well rounded roster. 29. Arizona Cardinals - Emmanuel Ogbah - ive soured on this guy big time, i dont think he will be a good NFL player, but he does have upside, i consider him the exterior version of shawn oakman in terms of on-field ability, the major difference here is willingness to learn and improve, and he fills their need at edge rusher. 30. Carolina Panthers - Jason Spriggs - it makes me sad because i think if he makes it past carolina then he makes it to us, but he wont. after the super bowl it is obvious what they need to address and jason spriggs may be the 2nd best pass protecting LT in this draft after tunsil, hes a fair bit weaker than stanley but a supreme athlete with stellar footwork and technique, he protects the blindside for cam efficiently and gets them right back in the thick of it next year by fixing their biggest weakness. 31. Denver Broncos - Jarran Reed - Malik Jackson leaves via FA and they make a lateral move here to replace him without skipping a beat, and the potential here is a bit superior to jackson. Ravens round 2: Jonathan Bullard here i was between Kendall Fuller, Jonathan Bullard, and Tyler Boyd. I have the titans taking eli apple in the 2nd, allowing fuller to fall to us. im not his biggest fan but i do like him, and you can bet hes on our radar for our 2nd pick. tyler boyd is for obvious reasons, but for bullard, he makes a great candidate to replace upshaw who was a very similar player coming in, he is a late first prospect who could fall because of his tweener size and weak 40 time, but its a perfect fit for us, has a great first step but average overall explosion, but thats ok because his hand fighting and bullrush is superb and his pass rushing is very reminiscent of dumervil from a 3 point stance, at 285lbs and 6'3" he is only a bit heavier than the ravens prototype olb and he is just a naturally disruptive player, i think he could be a very good OLb for us with some work. In short, I think Bullard could be the edge rusher we wanted Upshaw to be Round 3: Germain Ifedi If he cuts out the holding then he is simply a NFL starter. Great project for Castillo to coach up and turn into a fixture. Round 4: Joe Schobert ive given my opinion on this guy so many times that i wont even reiterate it, has raven written all over him Charles Tapper hometown kid, physical specimen, built for the scheme. ZDS last year was more of a pure DE and a run stopping type of guy but he appears to have been better than expected as a rushOLB, charles tapper is the opposite and appears to be a natural pass rusher, showing loads of untapped potential as a pass rusher, has an excellent build, great reach and at 6'3" has the height we like and shows good leverage to go with it, great first step and explosiveness and impressive brute strength to go with it. has the power to bullrush NFL tackles, but doesnt offer any kind of repertoire of moves and appears to spend a bit too much time in the weightroom, proper nfl weight management and coaching could have this guy producing 8 sacks by his 3rd year, a mcphee like progression from this guy would be no surprise to me. Kevin Peterson good cover guy with a low ceiling and small frame. plays with swagger, locates the ball well, mirrors like a first rounder and plays with smart aggression. lacks top end speed and reach and will get beaten in the redzone, however he can generate some clutch breakups on quick strike passes as long as he isnt facing aj green or mike evans, and in limited snaps he could be a well liked player similar to a corey graham. late round flyers/udfa's: Ron Thompson, DE, Syracuse Curt Maggitt, OLB, Tennessee Jaydon Mickens, WR, Washington Laquan Mcgowan, G, Baylor(lololol) Caleb Benenoch, OT, UCLA WRAP-UP first 4 rounds Myles Jack Kendall Fuller Rashard Higgins Joe Schobert Charles Tapper Kevin Peterson
  16. I would not even think of taking that trade 1st both 2nds 43 45 at a minimum to do the trade. Not a huge fan I like the Jackson pick but I take Spence or another pass rusher at 15 you could get a decent WR in the 3rd or 4th and address a much bigger need. With the 2 2ndround picks that would get us 4picks in the top 45 and I would go Spence CB Jackson/Kendll Fuller WR Boyd/Doctson/Thomas and then depending on the board take another pass rusher or Thompson the FS from Boise St.
  17. Glad to see someone else watched Ramsey's tape. His will be drafted perhaps number one overall because of his traits, size and exceptional athleticism. His tape from last year does not merit being picked top five. buckner is consistently good. Jack is great. Darian Thompson is impressive on game film.
  18. No on Thompson. To slow. We have enough safety's.
  19. I feel better about Jack and Buckner being there at 6 than Bosa or Ramsey. Ramsey is the class's premier athlete at a position where the league is starved for even average safety play. I honestly think the Cowboys will take him and either pair him with Jones or Scandrick at either position and just add athleticism to their secondary. Jack is a good linebacker, but their pass D was actually okay last yr all things considered (losing scandrick, offense putting the D in an abysmal position). On top of that, linebacker is actually a really strong position in this class so they may believe the drop off from Jack to X in the second where X can also include Deone Buchanon type safeties like Darian Thompson isn't that big a deal while the drop off between Ramsey or Bosa to the X/Y is. I just can't imagine any scenario where Bosa gets past SD at 3 and if by some miracle he does, there is 0 chance he gets pass Jax at 5. The draft is strong in DT and NT specifically. SD can fix almost all of its defensive issues and get 1st round talents doing so by solidifying the DE spot with the best one in the draft by taking Bosa. Jax is almost guaranteed to go pass rusher or pass defender (CB) imo. There's just too much of a gaping hole there. I doubt they look to FA again for the latter which makes me think draft and that they will reach, but no first rounder really fits the seattle mold for long armed corners so I suppose Jack is in play, but I just don't get the vibe they feel like they have to address that position early on. I think we are choosing between Buckner and Jack at 6 personally.
  20. 2016 Mock Draft: *Assuming we re-sign Osemele* 1. Titans - Laremy Tunsil: Gotta make sure Mariota doesn't become human jello 2. Browns - Carson Wentz: Death, taxes, and another new Browns QB. He has some potential though. 3. Chargers - Joey Bosa 4. Cowboys - Jalen Ramsey: This is gonna be tough to see him go before us and if he falls to us I'd take him in a heartbeat, but he just seems like a Cowboys type of player/personality. 5. Jaguars - Vernon Hargreaves 6. Ravens - Myles Jack: Easily BPA here. Dean Pees will have a field day with him thanks to his athleticism and versatility. A perennial pro-bowler and all pro no matter where he plays, or what team he ends up on. Could have an Adalius Thomas like impact on the defense (not really at DE, but at LB/S/and maybe even some RB). 7. 49ers - Jared Goff 8. Dolphins - Ronnie Stanley 9. Buccaneers - DeForest Buckner 10. Giants - Noah Spence 11. Bears - Reggie Ragland 12. Saints - Sheldon Rankins 13. Eagles - Paxton Lynch 14. Raiders - Mackensie Alexander 15. Rams - Laquon Treadwell: Unnecessary speed concerns will cause him to fall a bit. 16. Lions - A'Shawn Robinson 17. Falcons - Leonard Floyd 18. Colts - Jack Conklin 19. Bills - Robert Nkemdiche: He's falling worse than Alicia Keys, but Rex Ryan is gonna salivate over him. 20. Jets - Emmanuel Ogbah 21. Redskins - Jarran Reed 22. Texans - Ezekiel Elliott 23. Vikings - Jason Spriggs 24. Bengals - Michael Thomas: Sanu/Jones both look like they'll be gone, so another playmaker is needed. 25. Steelers - Eli Apple: Pittsburgh needs DB's like fat kids need cake. 26. Seahawks - Taylor Decker 27. Packers - Darron Lee 28. Chiefs - Shaq Lawson 29. Cardinals - Andrew Billings 30. Panthers - Will Fuller 31. Broncos - Shon Coleman *Patriots forfeit 1st round pick due to deflate-gate* Notable 2nd Round Picks Cowboys - Derrick Henry Rams - Connor Cook Falcons - Sterling Shepard: One of my favorite players in the draft, maybe we could trade up because he's gonna be great. Packers - Hunter Henry Ravens Draft Picks 2 - Darian Thompson: Total ball hawk, and the Ravens need someone like that badly. 3 - Pharoh Cooper: I think learning from Steve Smith will help work out the kinks, good speed/hands/character. 4 - Chris Jones: Reminds me of Carl Davis, should've gone higher and will be much better than just a 4th round pick. 4 (comp) - Joe Dahl: T depth, hopefully we can groom him to take over at LT in a year or two. 5 (comp) - Cyrus Jones: Hometown kid, great returner which we need, could be a solid nickel CB. 5 (comp) - Landon Turner: Big road grater, a little under the radar, I think, he'll fit in well in Baltimore. 6 - Vernon Adams: Can compete with Mallett if Joe takes longer to return, Tyrod-esque.
  21. Yep. I like Byard, Bell, and Deiondre' Hall are the guys who really flashed for me. I really liked what I saw from Hall out there. I think he may be a bit higher now than other guys I liked before, such as Thompson. Keanu Neal also looked really good out there.
  22. Great draft if it happens, but I would not take Thompson in the second if Jackson III is there on the board. I would probably take Boyd over him as well. Safety is a need, but I don't think they're better than certain talent still left on the board
  23. Spriggs has also been stuck for my 2nd for a long time. I just saw Thompson disappointed with his 40, maybe we could get him in the 3rd and replace WJ3 with Spriggs? That's another possibility.
  24. I don't like Thompson. Too stiff.
  25. 4.7 forty is all the elaboration needed. The kid is slow. He will get roasted in our division by AJ Green and AB for big plays. I wouldn't touch Thompson til day 3, let someone else make the mistake of drafting him #bustcity
