2010 Fantasy Draft: Who To Draft?

Looking into my roster from 2009, and looking at who dominated last year, as well as looking at free agency and draft projections, I've compiled a list of good players to draft and when to draft them.

QB:
Payton Manning (#1 QB) Draft in 1st Round. Manning always looks good, and hardly ever has a bad day. He puts up good fantasy points consistently, and won many games for me in the 2009 season.

Joe Flacco (#2 QB) Draft in 5th Round if available. With the weapons that are surrounding Flacco now (Todd Heap, Ray Rice, Donte Stallworth, Anquan Boldin), it's hard not to pick him as a solid #2 QB. Underneath passes to Ray Rice are deadly, and Stallworth is likely to be a deep threat. Good blocking gives Flacco needed time to get the ball out.

Vince Young (#2B QB) Draft in 5th round if available. Vince Young wasn't a much used QB in 2009 in Fantasy leagues. If he plays, he puts up solid numbers every week, and most Fantasy owners overlook him and don't draft him.

RB:
Ray Rice (#1 RB) Draft in the 2nd Round if available. Ray Rice is coming into his 3rd year and was highly productive in his 2009 season. With more weapons at WR for the Ravens, expect the defense to spread their coverage more, which means bigger gains for Rice.

Cedric Benson (#1B RB) Draft in the 2nd Round if Ray Rice isn't available. Benson, like Rice, proved productive week in and week out. He put up solid numbers no matter how his team was doing. With the Bengals also looking for another good WR to line up with #85, defenses will spread their coverage more, giving Benson good running room w/ a pass underneath.

Fred Jackson (#2 RB) Draft in 6th Round. Jackson was overlooked by almost all of the Fantasy community last year, but put up good numbers. By the 6th round, if players like Steven Jackson, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Golden Tate, aren't available, Jackson is a good #2 RB.

WR:
Andre Johnson (#1 WR) Draft in 3rd Round. Andre Johnson put up big numbers all through the 2009 season. With a strong passing game in Houston, Andre is a threat to any defense.

Reggie Wayne (#1B WR) Draft in 3rd round if Andre Johnson isn't available. Wayne will be looking to repeat an outstanding season, and another Superbowl appearance. With talent around him, and Payton Manning at the head of their offense, Reggie Wayne will be there in your fantasy league if you make it to the playoffs.

Anquan Boldin (#1C WR) Draft in 3rd round. Boldin is a threat if a good QB is on his side, and this year, he's got a talented QB. The only thing to worry about with Boldin is his injury problem.

That's all I have for now. Other good options:
Kenny Britt, WR
Matt Schaub, QB
Colt McCoy, QB
Adrian Peterson, RB
Nate Kaeding, K
Ravens, DST
Jets, DST
Braylon Edwards, WR
Shonn Green, RB
Frank Gore, RB

Well, at the beginning of the season a few of us from the boards here started a Yahoo! Fantasy league. The Championship game was this weekend and the winner is.....

"The WU" a.k.a - Shawn....

He beat me in the final by a score of 212 - 153.
He sent me a message saying "it should be a good matchup" and I screwed up as I never changed my lineup before the game - which wouldn't have mattered as he would've won anyway... Atleast it woulda been interesting if I had A. Foster in instead of Quinton Ganther and Hester in instead of Meachem.

Anyway, here's to a fun Fantasy Season and congrats to "The Wu"

Rice, Stewart, Charles

Now I know this may be a bad forum to include this post on but oh well. My 2 starting RB's this week I will not even think about sitting are Benson against KC and Gore vs DET. So my flex option is those 3. Charles has been off the hook for me but I don't know if I can trust him AGAIN. I was leaning towards stewart cause Williams is out and he's the lead and goaline back. My worry with Rice was specially against PB he loses ALOT of goaline carries to mcgahee so I don't know. I may go with rice as the safest bet cause of all his targets but I'm not sure.

Wr's To Start

OK, here are my 4 WR's:

Brandon Marshall @ Phi
Chad Ochocinco KC
Vincent Jackson @ Ten
Reggie Wayne NY Jets

As many points as KC gave up to Cleveland, I'm definitely leaving Chad in.
Tennessee's D hasn't been too good, gonna leave in V-Jax.
So that leaves either Marshall or Wayne. The Eagle's D has been looking very good lately, so I was considering putting Wayne in for Marshall. But then I read that Caldwell (Colts HC) isn't sure how long he's gonna be playing his starters, or if he'll even rest them at all. Not sure what to do.
Thought everyone?

I'm so good at drafting and managing fantasy teams! This year I made 3 serious fantasy teams not including my all Ravens team(which got off to a 4-2 start and hasnt won since) and all 3 of my teams are now in the championship game. 3 teams 3 championship game berths. Next year, I may pay to join a league with prizes.

Nfl.com Fantasy Playoff Schedules

I'm kind of curious on how they bracket them, because in almost all of my leagues on there I'm the #1 or 2 seed... yet I have to play in the first round.... I thought that I would have a bye week if I was one of the top 2 seeds but apparently not... and it looks like its set up like

Round 1:
4 teams.. 2 games

Round 2:
6 teams... 3 games

Round 3:
Championship

anyone care to elaborate why I might be playing in this first week as a top 2 seeded team?

Celek Or Shiancoe

Okay. I have both TE's. I got them late in my draft, back-to-back. Celek has been doing great but every time I drop him and use Shiancoe (like when he was against Detroit) he sucks and Celek does good, and lately Celek has been sucking because he's been blocking more than usual but everything says "Start Celek" so I keep doing it and Shiancoe does well and gets TD's but Sunday was the last straw. I've lost my matchup but it's getting to crunch time and I need to win to get the bye.

Anyway, I'm giving up and turning it over to the internet. Who do I start this week? Celek has a busted thumb but form says if I drop him and take Shiancoe he'll go get 15 points and Shiancoe will get shutout.

I'm going to keep bumping this every week btw.

With The Playoffs Lurking, Who To Start And Sit

This week will mark the conclusion of the regular season of fantasy football for my league. As it sits right now, my team is (7-5) and is looking highly probable to make a run in the playoffs.

Here is my team right now:
Peyton Manning QB
Donald Driver, Michael Crabtree, Calvin Johnson, Santonio Holmes at WR
Thomas Jones, Michael Turner, Clinton Portis, and Justin Forsett at RB
Antonio Gates at TE
Shayne Graham K
Steelers and Saints DST

Heading into week 13 I am confident these guys can get the win, but for the playoffs I'm starting to have doubts about Peyton Manning at the QB position because with his team at (11-0) I think the Colts will begin to prepare for the playoffs with the division already locked up. Do you guys think starting Manning will be a good decision in the playoffs or should I start to consider picking up a QB in free agency or possible trade a RB and WR for Phillip Rivers because the team who has him already has Kurt Warner and his out of playoff contention. Let me know your thoughts

Start Em' Sit Em' Week 11

With the injury to Michael Turner still in question here's my lineup as it stands today.

QB Peyton Manning (Indy) @Bal
RB Justin Forsett (Sea) @ Min
RB/WR Thomas Jones (NYJ) @ NE
WR Calvin Johnson (Det)vs. Cle
Wr Donald Driver (GB) vs. SF
TE Antonio Gates (SD) @ Den
K David Akers (PHI) @Chi
DST Steelers @ KC

On my bench I still have
RB Jason Snellin (Atl) @NYG
WR Chris Chambers (KC) vs. Pit
WR Santonio Holmes (Pit) @KC
WR Michael Crabtree (SF) @GB
DST Saints @TB

I'm pretty set on the QB, TE, and K position, but I'm debating on whether or not I should sit Driver and start Chambers because who else will Matt Cassel throw the ball to with Dwayne Bowe out? As for the DST position I don't know if the Steelers or Saints will rack up more points. Let me know what you guys think and I'll gladly help you out if your in a predicament as well.
