Yep. Scott Tolzien rifled in a pass on a crossing pattern. Jimmy had really tight coverage and made a really good play on the ball, but still got in there.

I find it interesting that only Ravens fans say this kind of thing. I've see the same thing with Levine..."He was in position and had tight coverage but the ball still got there." That means he got beat. It's a DBs job to stop the ball getting there, if not get the ball back.

Even Revis gets beat on tight coverage. It's rare but it happens and it's called getting beat. I think we collectively give our DBs way too much leeway in this regard. Jimmy got beat on that play and Levine got beat a few times, let's hold them accountable. (The Levine comments have nothing to do with the quoted post so please don't assume I am putting words in your mouth, just expressing a separate opinion)

  2. -Judon looks like what we thought we were getting with Upshaw

-Safeties are solid and hopefully Pees can use them to mask some of our deficiencies at CB

-Dixon and West are the future. West just needs to get smarter with his running, you can tell he's overthinking but my sense is he's trying to impress. Once his roster spot and status on the team are solidified I think he'll settle down.

-Finally hit on a WR with Moore. Light bulb seems to have come on for Butler in game situations as well.

  3. I'm just excited that we're looking at a team with the talent to have four legitimate deep threats. On top of that, we have enough talent to make game-changing plays at every level of the offense.

Excited to see all the hard work the FO has done over the past three offseasons come to fruition.

  4. Manziel, much like Griffin III, was ruined by hype. Tebow too, frankly. These guys could've been (and in the case of RGIII maybe could still be) decent players in the right scheme but hype led to them all being overdrafted, overestimated, and ultimately overwhelmed. Then the backlash overcorrects and they're pariahs.

  5. I understand wanting to place blame after last season...I didn't even watch. Circumstances here nor there, it's fair to say Ozzie and Harbs like stand up guys with good backgrounds more than mean guys--coaches and players. They also like to give those guys chances. Many of the Ravens glory days were when we were mean and unforgiving. I don't think that mentality wins championships anymore. I think the chips are stacked against a franchise like the Ravens in this day and age but our owner is smart and our system is world class so I trust it.

The Ravens have done some really improbable things and I think that's related to the fact that we choose guys with grit and determination. We have missed on some guys or stayed loyal to guys too long, but I feel really good about this team and where it will be when this season starts if we can get there healthy. I wouldn't underrate how unusual it is to be able root for a winner, an underdog winner, and also be proud of the people that run it as well. If and when the time comes to make changes of any kind Bisciotti will do just that, but save for any retirements or unexpected defections, I don't see any major shake ups at upper levels of the organization any time soon. I think results on the field will validate that course.
