we are gonna be right back here next year at this time.

keep thinking back to the 2008-2012 era when we had great players on our team, even then harball underachieved. we should have won more. now we have some decent players but only one star and that's our kicker. the bad coachin and decisions remain with us but we don't have the veteran superstar talent to offset the coachin and decision makin.  its very sad and makes you feel that 2013-2016 were years where nothing happened and that 2017 will be another wasted year with harball in its current form.  the time is now and nothing is happenin

Cj mosely not a star? brandon williams not a star ? Eric weddle he a nobody too? Marshall yanda? juice? Jimmy smith? we got stars all over the place they just are not on your Facebook feed which is where you probably get your football info since you think tucker is the only star ?

2013-14 we loss huge pieces , torrey smith , anquan boldin , ed reed, ray lewis paul kruger , etc etc yup that's HC fault....

2014-15 we take huge injury losses in terrell suggs, joe flacco, , steve smith sr. , first round pick out as well.   We will put that on HC too

2015 -16   Team starts to show signs of life, No major injuries this year, Defense goes from worst to first, Granted the offense sputtered and timing looked   god awful which is about right when none have played together under the same OC or time to get timing in years. But yeah let's fire the HC while 6 other teams are looking for a HC.

Now if we were in the bengals situation and we a team that stacked and still missed the play offs with out injuries, id be calling for his head. I don't see where changing HC will stop injuries, free agency and father time. Sure he had a few bad calls, Every coach has and will do that. He's had a lot more good calls then bad.

Jabrill Peppers in the 1st rd, we need players capable of being game changers, not just playmakers.

So much better options in this 2017 draft i understand the kid can play but he was way over hyped in comparison to his peers. Watch some tape on Corey Davis , Malik hooker , or even some of the edge rushers in Malik Mcdowell , Tim Williams i think you will be a lot more excited about those guys then the peppers tape.

I find this rather funny and sad at the same time.

We're seriously asking ourselves what in the world we're going to do without a 37 year old WR that was coming off of a double Achilles tendon tear because THAT guy was our BEST receiver?

Funny: Because we've had that guy over the years in Mason and Boldin and they put up better numbers than Smith did here.  Sure, passion and all is great, but give me results. I am sure there is a WR out there wearing out his welcome coming into the twilight of his career that we can milk for a few more seasons and turn him into something more than he really is because on our team he'll be a #1 option when on other teams he'd be relegated to 3rd.

Sad: Because we have to sign guys like this because we can't draft or develop well enough to stop from having to sign guys like this.

    Side note:

Seen Kenny Wright's name being mentioned and he's interesting. He had a couple of good season in Tennessee before falling out of favor due to injuries and then missing team meetings. He might be a nice slot option because I don't think we can count on Campanaro's health.

Brandon Marshall's time in New York may be done. I know he's had some issues, but if the team is doing well and he's getting the ball like he should, he's proven to be more than just a solid receiver. His price tag might be pretty heftier based on his past results. You definitely have to keep him happy and motivated, but when you do you get a proven playmaker that scored the football. It might also help that he's 6'4'' 229lbs.

Which WR's didn't we develop ? Torrey smith (who got paid because he was a developed receiver)? or Permian who just had his rookie campaign? The kid didn't play football in 2 years and just came back from injury never had an off season with his QB. I think the jury is still out on Perriman. Next year with a full year and off season under his belt let's see what he can do. I still think he has a ton of potential.

Head Coach John Harbaugh wants to see upgrades at cornerback, pass rusher and offensive line. He also has his eye on a playmaking third running back and possession wide receiver.

I think when doom Suggs Kamalei and Kafusi heal up and team up with matt judon our pass rush will be just fine. I don't see a CB worth a no.16 draft pick so well probably sign some one in FA. I really see us getting either  dynamic RB like Cook or a monster prospect WR like corey davis. Im so excited to take a RB or WR in the first round. We need to get some flacco some weapons.

We all know that old definition of insanity right? But yeah, keep Pees and watch your defense fold consistently when it matters late in games. Please.

Better give the offense all the love because, as I stated before, this offense is going to have to put up 30 or better every game with Pees' brand of defense.

I kind of get retaining Marty, he did not have an entire season after all. But Pees has proven over his 5 seasons he is not the answer.

At least we're interviewing for a QB coach.

The game folds in the end because the defensive players on the field can't call the right plays in the 2 min drill. If D pees is not calling the plays they fold. On top of that Defense has suffered key injuries all year. Suggs playing with a torn bicep, Doom recovering because  we now know he had surgery in the off season. Kafusi and Correa both were injured for most of the year. Leaving 4th round picks to do most of the dirty work for pass rushing.  Im seeing a lot of reasons why the defense folds. Pees is not one of them.

wonder if they make a play for brandon marshall. he is an 11 year veteran which is right up ozzies ally. i think the type of back they are referring to is either a bruising type back for short yardage or a darren sproles type for 3rd downs. not sure where juice fits in with harbs comment on wanting a 3rd back

love this thought about marshall. He doesn't want money but wants to win. Sounds like an Ozzie move to me. I think we are more likely to land Kenny Stills though a good WR no ones talking about.

Please get flaccco off of throwing to pitta every other down and please actually use perriman.

I think your right. But it was more about chemistry then anything is what it looked like to me. This was Flaccos first full year with perriman and they didn't really get to practice together in the preseason because of their injuries. I think flacco with an off season to work and get the timing with his receivers will knock some rust off. Same thing with pitta he's been out of football for two years and still played better then our other TE's. Keep in mind we are supposed to have Watson out there as well. This was a year to knock the rust off and let the injury bug fully get out of the Ravens system. Im so excited for next year!

There were some games certainly where I thought the balance was lacking in terms of us having the opportunity to run the ball more and just doing it. The Redskins game notably comes to mind.

But there were plenty of games where fans THOUGHT we abandoned the run, and we simply didn't. I think fans far too often just wait until the game is over, go to the box score, see that its like a 2:1 pass:run ratio, and then say "we didn't run enough".

Cowboys game is a textbook example of why that's untrue. People thought we abandoned the run in that game (mostly 2nd half), yet I challenged people to tell me where we could have run the ball more and nobody came up with anything, because there really weren't any other opportunities.

Game circumstances change everything. We're down 14 points almost immediately against the Bengals. Is running the ball a lot going to help us get out of that hole?

what really killed the offense in the games you refer to was penalties and when the penalties happened. So many 3rd and 10+ situations it's hard to do anything you want to do especially stick to the game plan.

I may be the only person, but I think this team had enough offensive talent to contend. I think the issues at the Center position, and missing Alex Lewis really hindered the offense at the end of the day.

But when you have a Steve Smith Sr, Perriman, Aiken Wallace, Pitta, Waller, Dixon, West, Juscyzk, I think you have some guys that can score points. You play to your strengths. They did not utilize the strengths of Perriman and Wallace and Flacco. Go deep. That's what those guys do well. All those guys could play for other teams. They could start elsewhere.

For me it is a matter of competency. You have to commit to running the ball. That 2008 team would go play Pittsburgh and would just try to run on Pittsburgh on like 65% of the plays and get 2 yards most times. Same for their team against us. Committed. Dropping back 40 times a game is not the right philosophy.

i think your almost 100 % right,  more like 90 for right now lol. the offense was close but i think the key missing piece was a speedster some one to take the top off the defense we tried to fill the "Torrey Smith" roll but i don't think we have that person yet. Once we do i think the offense will run a lot more smoothly.

  10. I don't know why big boards have us getting an Edge in the first round we got 2 in rounds 2 and 3 last year. I think we continue to build the offense. Why spend the pick when we are coming off being the a top rated defense and one of the worst passing offense in the league. My remedy ? Draft John Ross my god the kid is fast and has hands. Oh Double bonus he can return punts!
