why does anyone do anything? none of it matters...
what's the point in even posting on this forum for example... none of it is significant...
yet you still do it...

He seems like the perfect "ankle injury IR stash" for the next year or two.
absolutely - although i think there's an outside chance he could sneak onto the roster given how thin we are - (we have 4 wrs at the moment predicted to have an impact this upcoming season - i imagine we will have at least 5 on the opening day roster - may well be a vet free agent but who knows)
he's a guy who will need some work but could come on quickly because while i see a litany of issues, none of them (except the hands) are fundamentally large issues in terms of how much work they need - he's a player i could see developing into a decent 4th receiver maybe a 3rd receiver and supplementary deep threat
if he does well on special teams though, he may well get more opportunities to develop given that's likely how our 5th/6th receivers will contribute

i agree with this - clowney was way more hyped for the athletic traits vs garrett - people were calling clowney a once in a generational type talent which i just didnt see - athletically that makes more sense for garrett than clowney - i agree that garrett has been overhyped... i think many media analysts seem to forget that it's not all about sheer athleticism (garrett im sure will succeed though, he seems like a very motivated and intelligent young man who's surprisingly interesting as a person as well as a prospect)

im not sure i agree with this - harris uses the spin more often but i dont see it as being executed as well - i suppose when harris gets it right its slightly more effective because it emphasizes timing - but so often i see him get the timing wrong and he isnt violent enough to execute the move without great timing - i saw him spinning in place so many times whereas when williams uses the spin move it's often violent and purposeful

Everyone is supposed to wait 15 minutes because a few of you think you own the boards? Maybe this is why the Ravens are shutting the forum down. You guys think this is your personal board. Giving people negative votes when the main cliche who disagree with anything your group disagrees with.
i mean you make the dumbest post I ever read about how great it is Steelers fans appreciate us. And I make a disagreement with it and the negative votes come out. You guys are like three year olds. No adult cares about down votes. And the forum is closing in 4 days. At least I won't have to ever read your post again. .
no - everyone is supposed to not discuss the picks because the mods asked you to adhere to the rules - not all of us had the luxury of being switched onto twitter etc. and i dont necessarily want to watch a draft tracker for hours on end - that is literally the reason the programming exists
id love for the show to be properly live, but i cant change that so i deal with it and hope to learn the picks organically
it's just about courtesy dude, if a load of people kindly asked to not have the picks spoiled for them/the mods ask people not to do it either then surely it's only polite and nice to adhere to those requests
what do you personally gain from announcing the picks in the thread earlier than broadcast?

Nothing like watching your favorite TV show. The only thing you see on TIV is the commissioner walks up to the mic. The fans boo him and then he says Baltimore Ravens select ..... I don't watch it on TV as it is complete boring and just watch the draft tracker. A fair comparison would be how I don't waste my Sunday fall afternoons sitting indoors so I DVR the Ravens day games. I have had people tell me the score when I specifically told them not to. That is spoiling watching the game for me. You had nothing spoiled for you. You got the news when the pick was made and announced to everyone in the world except on NFL Network where they are more concerned about showing you commercials than showing you the picks as they are made. If you should be complaining complain to NFL Network for their delayed announcing of the picks.
The pick was over five minutes old when I posted it on here. How am I supposed to know that they would delay it that long? So someone posting on the Internet who doesn't have a cable package is somehow supposed to determine when they announce it on TV to discuss it? Even though it was announced on the Internet over 5 minutes before the posting
why are you announcing the pick here though? if you're not interested in the tv show why would you announce it on the gameday thread? if you arent willing to play by the rules (which we all want to play by) and discuss picks as they are announced then why bother posting them?
essentially your argument is "I, atomicfront, don't like watching the nfl draft coverage, therefore, everyone who does watch the show doesn't deserve to not have the show spoiled for them" - it's not like we were watching it an hour later - we were literally watching the international coverage - the picks werent announced to the world before the coverage - they were announced earlier by beat writers - the nfl certainly agrees with italianraven and I because they stopped any broadcast media from tweeting out picks early

i just watched some of him 1vs1 in practice and i can see why he went udfa - he's inconsistent and sometimes reads the corner wrong - his hands are also inconsistent but he's got good height and length and good deep speed with some decent short area quickness - he breaks well even when he reads wrong although he doesnt sell fakes particularly well at the moment - he's a nice developmental guy to have in the building and if he comes on quick then maybe there's a place for him here

Speedy Noil, Texas A&M WR
Jamari Staples, Louisville WR
Jalen Robinette, Air Force WR (might not be allowed to play)
Jon Toth, Kentucky C
Devonte' Fields, Louisville OLB
William Likely, Maryland CB
Just a few interesting undrafted guys still available 👀
FYI 49ers signed Lorenzo Jerome....so upset..
Jalen robinette would be really intriguing if he could be cleared - he has enormous hands (maybe the biggest in the class at wr) and he uses them well
jon toth is surprising that he still hasn't been picked up - maybe it shows the devaluation of centers a little but he's a potential starter type which is amazing for a udfa
devonte fields unfortunately will not be coming to Baltimore because of DV issues (probably why he went undrafted in the first place)
will likely is like tavon-mini - in coverage etc he mirrors like a guy who should go in the 2nd round but he just is too small - unfortunately he's a guy that's only coming in to play as a returner because even your average slot receiver or scat-back is taller than him

Just saw it this evening... obviously I won't spoil it but I thought it did some things much better than the first film but also had some problems dealing with the lack of novelty value

I appreciate the steelers and I'm pretty sure they don't suck... if anything, when your main rival compliments you it's probably a sign that you are a respectable and worthy opponent
7 minutes ago, atomicfront said:I don't know how you can do a "spoiler" on a draft pick. These forums have the strangest rules.
I mean its pretty easy to understand - as with much breaking news around the NFL - beat writers often report things that aren't confirmed or haven't happened yet - in the case of the draft the show always runs behind the actual draft - I assume you can understand that it might take away from someone's enjoyment if they already know what's going to happen

all can say is my draff required a cb and humpf was eliminated in my cb slot thars nothin in his film or play to make one say he the guy worstest even he looks like elam comin up to make the hit on a low talent ball carier. omg
watch the jags Jalen myrick he will out play humpf. he went in the 7th round
it's ok if you dont think marlon humphrey will be a good cb because we have marshall yanda in the wings ready to play outside corner in stead...

I am legitimately shocked they haven't tried to get Greg hardy back in the league.
i mean maybe they'll try and reanimate aaron hernandez too...
yes it's disappointing not to get offense but outside of juju in the 2nd and maybe isaiah ford in the 6th who should we have taken that would have been a player worth the pick we might have taken them at and were they better than the player we took in stead - maybe i would have taken ardarius stewart or chris godwin ahead of chris wormley but that's one pick and there would still be complaints about not doing anything for the offense
3 minutes ago, ravensnation5220 said:The one thing that makes me think he can stay clean is that we didnt hear anything about his combine drug test. Which is a good thing
yeah all his drug issues outside of the gun possession arrest were 3 years ago or more - there were no reports he failed his combine drugs test and he's got responsibilities now to his family --> the gun possession thing was weird but seemed to be a misunderstanding, the drugs thing i couldnt really care about as long as he doesnt do them anymore (and once the NFL gets past its archaic punishments for taking a legal drug it wont really be a problem if he does as long as its not during the season)
i remember tim williams and derek barnett's film being the most fun i had this off season - so im going back to watch tim's tape all over again... and again... and again

I hate them, I want them to suck ... but at the same time I understand that if they did go through a drought, it would feel like something was missing. In the end, the league is better when we're both good and both ripping at each others throat 2 or 3 times a year.
and even when one of the teams sucks/struggles they still can be a spanner in the works - like when we swept them as a 5-11 team

Yes I very much hope this community continues in its entirety when it moves
I just want to say well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed on this part of the forum over the last few months. I know this is the best I've ever felt in terms of preparedness going into a draft and I suspect it was similar for many of you guys too. So I just thought I'd say well done for some of the rumours that we quashed, some of the players that we got behind, and that while we played favourites a lot, we've seen enough prospects and enough film as a group that we've been able to understand what the front office has done even though it disappointed some.
This process is always a lot more fun when everyone's informed and when there are real intelligent debates over things seen on tape. So now that the draft is in the books I'm going to feel a little down despite being pretty happy with the overall formation of our class.
Thanks guys, I'll miss this.
the steelers first 2 picks were really great picks and i imagine they would be high on our board - it's funny that they said that it felt like we took their guys just ahead of them but it also felt like they would stop the slide of anyone we wanted in the next round in just the same way...

yeah its crazy the level of pass rushers that are joining the AFC North this year- Garrett, Watt, Willis, Lawson, Williams were all at various points regarded as 1st round talents and they are all joining the AFC North... the browns have garrett and lawson which could be tough to defend against

dont think dallas put dak in on purpose - and given that they wanted connor cook and paxton lynch over dak prescott, the only advice we should take from dallas is that sometimes you just get inexplicably lucky
