wow Mel Kiper just picked Jack Conklin to SF with Stanley on the board.

I did not know that we had 3 good OT prospects, maybe we should trade down..

that's a bizarre pick - conklin's obviously a rung below stanley and tunsil

NFL Network has their live mock draft @ 8:00 EST where do you think Jack goes? I love him don't get it twisted from my previous post I'm just extremely nervous after last season with Perriman...that sucked

is that the mock where they get beat writers in the cities to make the picks? i think they got quadry ismail to do the ravens one last year...

  3. my problem with cravens in the second (not because i dont want him but because i dont think we'll get him) is that some first round graded talent will fall into the second and cravens, while exciting, doesn't have as high a grade - and ozzie and eric always go bpa

don't get me wrong, i would love cravens but i reckon we'll end up with a fallen first rounder and would have to trade back into the late second if we really want cravens

  4. the reason i see it differently to perriman though is because perriman's injury came out of nowhere and then didn't make sense - jack is an injury that we are already aware of and have seen do as much lateral movement on camera as perriman has this offseason

So would you feel comfortable taking him at 6?

yes - and i'd be more excited about him than any other player except maybe tunsil because he has game breaking ability - i feel like bosa will not end up being the best rusher in this class, i don't think ramsey will be the best defensive back, and I'm not excited by the prospect of buckner

  7. best case is elam plays himself out of baltimore because we won't want the fifth year but he'll be too expensive for us to keep on the cheap because he's made too many plays. he's not shown enough in baltimore to get a second contract but my hope is that he plays well enough that we can get a comp pick in 2018

I really don't want Stanley, I watched a lot of him this year and re-watched the Clemson game (he got destroyed)...if we draft him it will crush the excitement I've had since the season ended....this Jack news really really sucks....I don't see it at a smokescreen and I don't know if I'd be comfortable drafting him 6th at this point...honestly we need an impact player...looks like my dream of Ramsey is gone sooo now Tunsil (doubtful), Bosa (Blah), VH3 (Ey), Elliott (Best available in my opinion if we don't get the others listed but we need defense)....sounds like Oz needs to trade back!

i wouldn't have seen it as a smokescreen except that la canfora posted that medical update on him about how exaggerated teams' concerns were - after that I am completely disregarding all information on Jack's knee - there's no way new information would actually come out now... no one's doing tests on him right now - all this latest information is just someone "revealing" what they found out a while ago - so it's not new information which leads me to believe that it's fake

Yeah, or DT like here but that left us without elite pass rusher, which is the only position we desperately need.

i don't really think there are elite pass rushers in this draft beyond the first round - there are a lot of potentially good but raw edge rushers and a lot of interior line depth so I naturally would have preferred some oline depth but i like vernon butler albeit not as much as some of the other tackles

See what the problem is with Ramsey at 6? Spence gone, DH gone, no pass rusher worth high 2nd round pick left and we end up drafting WR.

Either that or we double-dip on DB

could always take cody whitehair as a guard... - that's a value pick for a player that i'd consider a first round talent - for me he's bpa as well

I think VH3, Stanley, Buckner and Lawson would be the next set of players on the Ravens' board. I know the Ravens didn't meet with Buckner, but I'm not sure about the other three.

i don't think lawson goes that high, both he and dodd hurt each other a little bit because they both are so good - they made each other's jobs easier as well as just being great themselves - i could see lawson in a trade back kind of scenario where the ravens trade with the bears (to get in front of the saints) or back to 16 and pick in front of the falcons - coz i think floyd is higher on the board than lawson

  12. also - for me literally any receiver taken in the first round - any of the wideouts or hunter henry are all reaches - i know everybody says it's a bad class but i genuinely don't think a single one of them is worthy of a first round grade - if those were my only options at the end of the first i'd be trading back

  13. if william jackson iii ends up in a good situation like marcus peters last year, i think he could end up being the droy - he likes to gamble and that means splash plays (albeit he'll get beaten often as well but that's not what the voting is about) - although corners very rarely win

But if he can't play for a long time what's the point?

it'd be nice to have players for a long time but I'd rather have a great player last a little bit than have standard starter level players - for me it's worth the risk because the ravens need playmakers not safe starters

You don't think it will affect him for 5 or 6 years? Then maybe a team will select him if they think a surgery can help him. That is still a sticky situation and I can see him dropping and that kills the Ravens board.

even without surgery, getting a great player for 5-6 years in an nfl where longevity isn't guaranteed is pretty good - especially as most of those years will be played under a rookie contract
