When i was younger I had a concussion knock me off sport for 6 weeks - was off work for 2 (couldn't see straight) and had a ringing in my ears for the first week
theres no way you go anywhere near any sort of practice with a concussion
now it's fair to say they might have held him out as a precaution if there had been contact or anything more than a walk through but the fact that he is out there at the walk through does suggest he's fully cleared of all symptoms
1 minute ago, EdTheMythicalOne said:I am not arguing anything at all, that's the first misconception. I am pointing out facts.
Did the team practice in full pads and have a full practice?
Or was it a shorts with jerseys and no helmets walk through?
The point being, those are two very different kinds of practices, the latter with intent on safety.
Shouldn't matter - if he's got a concussion then his brain is rattled. The thing he needs to use to make use of the walk through - no way he's out there at all if he doesn't make it through concussion protocol (no point for before preseason game 1)
I relistened to the harbaugh press conference yesterday and for a moment he sounded like a fan - he tried to dress it up in coach speak but the way he talks about campanaro it sounds like he's really pulling for him
42 minutes ago, FloridalovesRavens said:You haven't seen anything of him yet. He has been injured and not able to show his worth to this team. He deserves the chance to get on the field and then maybe you can be "excited". Geez, give the kid a break.
I think it's fair to be excited at the possibility even if it's not definite... Are we not allowed to imagine?
22 minutes ago, Ravens_Flock said:I like how people are actually in there talking about Ray Rice. I like how people are sitting here still condemning him for one nightmare moment in his life, that he and his family have already paid for in spades. I like how people are talking about Ray Rice, as if he SHOULD never ever get another chance to play in the NFL again, when he is, at heart, a good person, and absolutely deserves it. I also like how people try to take "moral" stand, and say that "look what he did, what example does that set if he's allowed to play again?", when Adrian Peterson literally whipped the hell out of his own child, leaving welts, cuts and bruises, yet he is back in the league, playing, and even being celebrated once more.
Out of all the players who have made major mistakes or even done very bad things in the NFL, and have gotten second (or even third) chances to continue playing, I would go so far as to say Ray Rice deserves that kind of opportunity to play, far more than most of them have. The dude is a good guy, who had one bad night. A REALLY bad night. But who is anyone else to judge? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", eh? He already got his punishment. And if he touched an NFL field again, you know he would light it up, because he's been itching to play and put all that behind him for years now. I'm not saying the Ravens should re-hire him (though I wouldn't be against it), they wouldn't, for PR reasons. But he DOES deserve a shot with SOME team, and you can't tell me there aren't teams out there right now who couldn't use an RB of his ability.
The issue here then is not that ray rice should play it is that those others should not. I personally find it sad that AP and Greg hardy etc. are still in the league after their problems not that Ray rice isn't.

Duh, it wouldn't be called a mistake if it wasn't a choice. that is literally the dumbest reply ive ever read. I think ur getting the words accident and mistake mixed. what he did wasn't an accident he obviously meant to hit her, but he made a mistake deciding to hit her.
dont be pedantic - i mean in terms of people's discussions of these things
we don't refer to murder as a mistake despite the fact it very much is one - there is a level of bad choice for which the word "mistake" is not harsh enough
1 minute ago, billiejean said:"because she was drunk the slap knocked her down" This couldn't be further from the truth and even if it was the truth there is still no excuse. You are looking at this through purple colored glasses.
it's not even purple coloured glasses, its more like a blindfold
back to the post topic though, how great would it be if west and campanaro both played significant snaps this season as hometown guys - and also if tavon young who lived close enough to drive to the flock festival after getting drafted could make an impact
i dont know about talent yet, but there are a load of young players in this team who i want to get behind and can imagine a dream scenario where they can all come of age which i havent had in previous years

chris moore apparently has "a little thing"
4 minutes ago, EdTheMythicalOne said:And? They are getting the information from somewhere. Harbaugh doesn't even have to be involved.
that's my point tho - this was about harbaugh not wanting to go into injuries in press conferences because he's "always wrong" so i dont mind it coming out but it doesnt mean harbaugh has to prognosticate
1 minute ago, cbrook1862 said:So ur perfect? Spill some of ur dirt so we can sit up here and judge you, then kick you off the website because we couldn't forgive you over a small part of ur life which doesn't describe you.
there is a difference between a mistake and hitting someone - that is something he actively chose to do (even if he was drunk he still had to decide to punch her)
1 minute ago, cbrook1862 said:Beater would suggest he hits her repeatedly or constantly. as far as we know that was a one time thing, and women do have a way of pushing your buttons. Let it go they were both drunk, she was pissing him off and he made a mistake. other than that I look at him no differently.
i'm sorry but that is an appalling thing to say - don't generalize women like that or even vaguely imply she deserved to be hit and "let it go"? that is a terrible attitude to have - of course i look at him differently - before this he was ray rice, now he is someone who has done something heinous
5 minutes ago, EdTheMythicalOne said:Kenneth Dixon's injury has been reported. Minor MCL Sprain (Grade 1, not expected to miss much time). Dennis Pitta's injury has been reported. Sprained a finger, expected to return soon. Breshard Perriman's new injury was reported. He didn't suffer a tear, didn't have to have reconstructive surgery, instead got a stem cell injection, might be back at middle/end of training camp/pre season.
tbf a lot of these didnt come from harbaugh they came from the local beat writers
Just now, RRRRRavens said:And you believe these people? After all the lies that were exposed about this incident that they told at the time?
it sounds like the only person you want to believe here is ray rice
there is no vengeance in my "heart", I never knew ray personally nor do i really care to know him. all i know is that he assaulted his now wife and domestic violence is something that i have zero tolerance for
he can make amends and spread positive messages all he wants and im happy he is trying to make amends but what does it say to young men and women if he is given the privilege of playing football having done what he did (and so publicly) especially if the job comes ahead of other young running backs who have worked hard without a history of domestic abuse
i will never condemn this front office for putting serious issues above salary cap and football concerns (football resets every year, someone's life can be restarted)
1 minute ago, RRRRRavens said:Read your history before commenting, please. He was given all the legal due process you or I would have received. A judge decided what punishment he should have and Ray accepted it. Unfortunately people like you want to keep punishing him even though you are not a judge. Where's the fairness in that?
i'm not still punishing him - just dont think he needs to be rewarded with a second chance in the nfl
12 hours ago, lgcs27288 said:I would say McCarthy or Rivera. I dislike Bellichick for obvious reasons, but that aside, I would not choose him or Arians because I feel they may retire soon. Age 64 and 63 respectively.
of those two - i'd definitely go rivera - the kind of guy who seems like he knows how to build a roster and only didnt get a hc job before now because he doesnt interview well (maybe because he's a bit too honest or uncompromising)
1 minute ago, RRRRRavens said:And he becomes the poster child for what not to do, as he is now. A legacy of making a mistake and then redeeming himself. An example to all and how to be the spokesman for what NOT to do.;
most people who get to leave those legacies have to do the time first - ray didnt do any time - if he hadnt been a successful football player he'd probably still be in jail
1 minute ago, RRRRRavens said:Not the Ravens fault. Only one man. Biscotti, the shame of Baltimore.
i dont think bisciotti hit janay, pretty sure ray did that
5 hours ago, trevorsteadman said:I think they will use Orr more in run situations and Correa in passing situations. I think Correa is better in coverage and the pass rush department. Sounds like even out of the two Correa is getting more snaps but it is nice to have another solid inside linebacker to rotate in and out. Mosley is one of the best if not the best run stopping inside linebackers in the league and we may have found his new complement for years to come.
i'd argue that orr is more likely to play passing downs because of his role last year - we know that the ravens defense stepped up on third down when he came on the field to replace daryl smith at the end of the season - it would suggest orr is fairly decent in coverage
16 hours ago, Danny D said:I would just point out if Ray Rice lied, in all likelihood, the Raven's would not of settled his civil suit with him. I don't believe he lied.
People settle for all sorts of reasons even when they would win - sometimes it's just cheaper and more painless

Not that I'm an expert but I think that isn't law in the state he was tried/convicted etc. in.
10 hours ago, Danny D said:Ed you sure bit hook, line and sinker on the Domestic Violence Groups position. Come on man.
That video was much too grainy to identify a punch with Ray's back to the camera. I gotta tell you, you couldn't even identify Ray. If Ray doesn't confess that video ain't enough to convict a man. Your position is that you see punch and definitely not slap? These two people, whoever they really were, are engaged in a slapping dispute long before they enter the elevator.
I'm not getting into Ray's youth and hurt year. Believe what you wish. To me its just more evidence that the Raven's Front Office have lost their collective minds. But then public pressure doesn't faze me. Say and do what's best.
Oh, one other matter. The Raven's after accepting the 2 game suspension voided Ray's contract on Moral Turpitude. (Likely DeCosta again.) Ray sued and received a settlement.
Sorry, after 2 years you're trying to say that it was all a massive conspiracy and ray rice was never in that lift? It's obviously him, it's obviously her, and what happened obviously happened. It's about as clear cut as any instance of domestic violence. To argue slap vs punch etc is meaningless. She was knocked unconscious.
You're often contrary Danny d but this time you're borderline offensive.
