  1. I think it's fair to be excited at the possibility even if it's not definite... Are we not allowed to imagine?
  2. The issue here then is not that ray rice should play it is that those others should not. I personally find it sad that AP and Greg hardy etc. are still in the league after their problems not that Ray rice isn't.
  3. if he learns to tackle...
  4. dont be pedantic - i mean in terms of people's discussions of these things we don't refer to murder as a mistake despite the fact it very much is one - there is a level of bad choice for which the word "mistake" is not harsh enough
  5. it's not even purple coloured glasses, its more like a blindfold
  6. back to the post topic though, how great would it be if west and campanaro both played significant snaps this season as hometown guys - and also if tavon young who lived close enough to drive to the flock festival after getting drafted could make an impact i dont know about talent yet, but there are a load of young players in this team who i want to get behind and can imagine a dream scenario where they can all come of age which i havent had in previous years
  7. chris moore apparently has "a little thing"
  8. that's my point tho - this was about harbaugh not wanting to go into injuries in press conferences because he's "always wrong" so i dont mind it coming out but it doesnt mean harbaugh has to prognosticate
  9. there is a difference between a mistake and hitting someone - that is something he actively chose to do (even if he was drunk he still had to decide to punch her)
  10. i'm sorry but that is an appalling thing to say - don't generalize women like that or even vaguely imply she deserved to be hit and "let it go"? that is a terrible attitude to have - of course i look at him differently - before this he was ray rice, now he is someone who has done something heinous
  11. tbf a lot of these didnt come from harbaugh they came from the local beat writers
  12. it sounds like the only person you want to believe here is ray rice
  13. there is no vengeance in my "heart", I never knew ray personally nor do i really care to know him. all i know is that he assaulted his now wife and domestic violence is something that i have zero tolerance for he can make amends and spread positive messages all he wants and im happy he is trying to make amends but what does it say to young men and women if he is given the privilege of playing football having done what he did (and so publicly) especially if the job comes ahead of other young running backs who have worked hard without a history of domestic abuse i will never condemn this front office for putting serious issues above salary cap and football concerns (football resets every year, someone's life can be restarted)
  14. i'm not still punishing him - just dont think he needs to be rewarded with a second chance in the nfl
  15. of those two - i'd definitely go rivera - the kind of guy who seems like he knows how to build a roster and only didnt get a hc job before now because he doesnt interview well (maybe because he's a bit too honest or uncompromising)
  16. most people who get to leave those legacies have to do the time first - ray didnt do any time - if he hadnt been a successful football player he'd probably still be in jail
  17. i dont think bisciotti hit janay, pretty sure ray did that
  18. i'd argue that orr is more likely to play passing downs because of his role last year - we know that the ravens defense stepped up on third down when he came on the field to replace daryl smith at the end of the season - it would suggest orr is fairly decent in coverage
  19. People settle for all sorts of reasons even when they would win - sometimes it's just cheaper and more painless
  20. Not that I'm an expert but I think that isn't law in the state he was tried/convicted etc. in.
  21. Sorry, after 2 years you're trying to say that it was all a massive conspiracy and ray rice was never in that lift? It's obviously him, it's obviously her, and what happened obviously happened. It's about as clear cut as any instance of domestic violence. To argue slap vs punch etc is meaningless. She was knocked unconscious. You're often contrary Danny d but this time you're borderline offensive.
  22. Let's draw a line in the sand then because it seems like everyone's trying to douse a tiny flame in gasoline i personally would like to see someone with that much passion and effort join the increasingly long line of Undrafted inside backers who become special teams enforcers but simultaneously it's not going to break my heart if he doesn't make it his play might have gone over the line, it might not have - we don't know, we weren't there but I think the reason we're talking about it so vehemently is because either way good or bad it's something the Ravens haven't had in a while
  23. i can't help thinking though that out of this situation owuasor is a winner - he's shown something (good or bad or questionable or neither) that has got the fanbase debating and talking about him seriously
  24. hes a udfa with nothing to lose - unless he's actually being reckless rather than just playing hard with a chip on his shoulder then he stands to lose nothing from these skirmishes etc. he was a nobody and now an entire fanbase is talking about him and pollard was a similar kind of player who ravens fans still salivate over - let him have a go - if he does go overboard i trust harbs and the coaching staff to stop him (or cut him)
  25. that is a very person specific piece of advice - for some (especially in sport) the opposite is sometimes more helpful
