  1. i dunno why they'd sign him to a new deal at all then... if he plays just average then they have to not take up the option and he could leave - they could have played him at the old contract and saved themselves a ton of money - essentially they just gave him a raise when they didnt have to unless they are seriously considering taking on the option doug whaley seriously cant be expecting tyrod to be aaron rodgers
  2. i think jerry rosberg confirmed that in his press conference today
  3. I'm pretty confident reynolds won't be kept instead of camp at this point, it'll be jeremy butler who makes it instead - reynolds is destined for the ps in my opinion, canady is probably going to phantom ir, levine is a lock pretty much - he is the second best special teams guy on this team behind albert mclellan and now that mclellan is in the running for a starter job, levine becomes even more important on special teams and no way this team keeps more than 8 OL remember the positions only go so far, at the end of the day the coaches want the best 53 players (that's why you're saying that the ravens will keep 4rbs and 4 tes (that wouldn't make much sense otherwise)) no matter their positions to a certain extent
  4. yeah he's getting a 1 year deal, but i think it's slightly more likely the bills pick up that option if he plays similarly or slightly better than last year - yes its 27.5m in the first year but it essentially becomes like a front-loaded 5 year 85m deal which is like a 17m/year average which is pretty good value for a franchise qb which he would be if they picked up the option so i dont think he needs to play lights out to get that option picked up - he needs to be more consistent, not miss too many games and keep that bills offence ticking over like a fair few games last year (i mean the bills did have a top 10 offence last year somehow) but yeah tyrod is getting 9.5m whatever hapens so good for him because that's over an $8m raise for one year
  5. this might be one of those cases where the last couple of days are the last straws - clay fumbled, didn't have an impact as a receiver in preseason 1 and apparently had some kicks sail over his head through misjudgements in practice afterwards
  6. Of course we are, that's why we're poking fun now...
  7. But he didn't struggle so there's no need for this whole palava
  8. I know it's all a bit late but this is what I saw last night from the positions I was watching... RBs: as has been said a lot on this forum, I thought Buck looked a step slower than dixon and west but a couple of his runs look like they got blown by the blocking in front of him (to be fair it has to be said that west turned two of those types of plays into a 7 yard gain and a 3rd down conversion so by all means bad blocking is not a great excuse), Dixon looked promising but not sure about him in pass protection as to be expected from a rookie TEs: I know Waller led the way with his catches but he wasn't as flashy as I thought he'd be but he was a matchup nightmare, albeit against 2nd and 3rd string linebackers - the thing there is that he needs to catch those things that for instance land on his chest like last night because of the part of the field he's working in he cannot afford to bobble or drop - i remember him hands catching one pass which was promising though. From what I saw, when Maxx was on the field he looked a class above the backups which bodes well. He and Boyle (and i wasnt watching them closely to be fair) looked like they were used sparingly and they looked really smooth and classy. CBs: jimmy got beaten too easily by tedd ginn in the back of the end zone and still looks too far behind where I'd like him to be - hopefully he's still just getting rid of the nargles from his injury after getting the metal out of his foot. wright did not look as good as id hoped either, he got boxed out to easily for the touchdown and seemed to be a bit lost in his zone a couple of times. tavon looked great on special teams in coverage (a little bit like waller last year which ironically makes waller a little more expendable), sheldon price gave away that pi but he did look like a threat on the ball - i know this team emphasises not giving up the big play but if we want turnovers we have to make plays on the ball so seeing him and will davis getting really close to the ball and getting their hands in was really encouraging, arrington was disappointing as well - he seems to me like a step down from jerraud powers even though both struggled that's just what i thought
  9. i know its only preseason but its crazy that only 2 wide receivers made catches last night - no catches for clay, reynolds or jacobs
  10. lol now the carolina coverage is saying the panthers won the most important part of the game - literally clutching at straws... also forgetting literally the entire roster of players the ravens are missing
  11. did he really lose that? i couldnt see past all the ads
  12. it's almost like they dont care about special teams
  13. its funny how the carolina commentators are calling that play dangerous and uncalled for - i mean it was stupid but he caught the end of his foot by accident - it was completely unintentional and they were just talking down like they were giving some sort of stern health and safety lecture
  14. against 3rd stringers (just a caveat)
  15. we dont really have a qb with an arm left on the field tonight - flacco didnt start and mallet is done
  16. i only heard that from harbs which struck me at the time as coach speek for he's our vet starter
  17. you had to say it... dont jinx it
  18. was just remembering that play against us last year (only this time without the illegal holding)
  19. again - if you malign the 1s then you have to remember that they haven't game planned like they normally would and that they are missing their two starting edge rushers
  20. and then should have had the int
  21. was that levine dropping from linebacker? if so... nice
  22. he was the same in preseason for us too pretty much
