  1. But is all seriousness, who really cares. As long he's a good left tackle is all I care about. Some of these articles lol
  2. Pretty scary group. All the good corners are usually gone by round one and def gone by the second. Hopefully, our D-Line can make up for another make shift secondary.
  3. You can guarantee it was his agent's idea at a bluff to make sure he was signed today, it's way too out of character for Justin. I would like to think so :)
  4. "Im not going to sign with the Ravens unless I get a long term contract" Big cry baby. He got his money as everyone knew he would. He didn't have to be a drama queen about it.
  5. Not so sure they cut Boyle. He did play better than second round Max Williams, and he is cheap. Think it's time to move on from Pitta. I know he is a great player, but it's time to let the younger ones a shot.
  6. Pretty scary bunch actually. Only two proven starters out of that group and one of which sat on the market a while. Any injury to Jimmy Smith and the Ravens are screwed. Price you pay when you need an Offensive tackle and no good corners fall to the second round.
  7. It would be great if the Ravens could turn a sixth round corner into an NFL starter. I would be happy with just outside corner depth. Not really sold on Wright. I mean he didn't get cut because he was a great player.
  8. Kamar should easily be our number two receiver behind Steve Smith, assuming that Smith comes back to his natural form. Would also like to see the Ravens release Companaro, tired of seeing him on the injury report. Also wouldn't mind if they got rid of Pitta, I think it is time to get rid of his contract. It's would be sad to see a great player go, but we have younger tight ends and just signed that guy Watson. In addition, I hope people don't feel sorry for him either. He is a multi millionaire at 28 or however old he is............
  9. Yea, 17th isn't that bad. Still too many questions on the Ravens roster to predict anything better. Although I think the team will be better, I doubt the Ravens are getting slighted with this prediction.
  10. LOL you are about to be found wanting my friend. He is for real.. Okay cool, he will be playing an international master, tell him to look him up, do you know his account name ?
  11. Completely random., but if your listening Urchel I got my roommate kicking your butt in chess. We tried to find your user name on chess.com with out any luck........Ha This would be fun But if anyone can reach this math wiz, my roommates account name is "DaenerysT"
  12. Matt Elam is too small to play LB at 5'10 LOL not a good idea. To me, l think it's time to move on from Elam. He just don't have what it takes. Yea, might be time to release both Aurthor Brown and Elam, as they would provide decent cap saving. Also think Forsett could fall into the 80-20 rule, given the position is stacked. Also if Camp gets injured I think it should be time to move from him as well. We need guys that can play ball, not sit on the bench or IR.
  13. Well you have Wagner up for contract, and Zeutta has proven reliable, but its just pure speculation to say a 4th round pick will start at guard. Hopefully you are right, but lets see him with the pads on against the NFL elitist. Also, I think Jensen may be the best guard on the roster aside form Yanda.
  14. Why would we cut him June 1st? I say you at least keep him through training camp/pre-season to see how he plays. Stanley needs to prove he can play LT at the NFL level. If he comes out and dominates, then you can cut Monroe. If he looks like hes not ready, keep Monroe at LT and move Stanley to LG for a year so he can get experienced playing time. As for Monroe donating money for cannabis research, I don't see how that should have any effect on how the Ravens evaluate his position on the roster. If given the opportunity and he plays better than Stanley, he gets the LT job. Period. I really don't believe the Ravens or the NFL in general will have some kind of vendetta against him for speaking publicly about the benefits of medical cannabis. If he was advocating everyone just go out and smoke weed, yeah, there would be a problem. However, using his position to speak about a social issue with clarity and logical arguments show intelligence and reserve that should be respected. I have no issue with the actual act of donating for research. The fact that he's been on a crusade for as long as I can remember is the issue. Every other word out of his mouth is talking about marijuana. Most will disagree but the Ravens absolutely do not want to deal with that. If you think Monroe didn't force the Ravens hand in drafting Stanley at 6, you're kidding yourself (let's not get wrapped up in Stanley as I think he's great). They had tunsil and Stanley still on the board and I guarantee they could've dropped 2-4 spots and still got one of them. But couldnt afford to miss out on Stanley with Tunsils incident. If they had faith in Monroe and thought he would be the best left tackle this year (he's still 29 and has 4-5 good years left if they believed in him) they would've taken Buckner or traded down and got another good player. You don't take a QB in the first because Flacco is 31 and just tore an ACL, do you? There's a time and a place for everything. Coming off two seasons where he was awful, (when he actually managed to touch the field) after getting paid like a top LT, would be classified under not the time or place. Leave it to the NFLPA for now and pick up the crusade after he retires (which will be very soon because if you follow him at all you know he has no love for the game is seemingly is only in it for the paycheck). Yea yea, the Ravens probably don't want to deal with this. However, I can assure you nobody cares what an injured left tackle has to say, not like he is in the glamour light. Nobody is listening to him, he is just another person with an opinion. Besides Monroe, is slowly moving out the door anyhow. The whole thing is a joke. What would be really cool though, is if Stanley and Monroe both play really well we could possibly trade Monroe, instead of getting nothing for him. Ship him off to Denver, than he can talk about as much marijuana as he would like.
  15. Frankly, there's other options. For all we know, Hurst may not make the team regardless, and the backup LT might be a Rich Wagner or somebody else. We saw our LG become basically our backup LT last season. I agree Monroe would be solid "depth", but its a tough sell in that spot to convince a franchise owner to pay $6.5M in 2016 to a backup LT who ideally would never see the field. There really aren't any teams in the league who have a "good" backup LT. There aren't even probably 25 quality LTs in the entire league to begin with, let alone enough to have a backup. At the end of the day, as bad as Hurst is, we can win with Hurst. We've proven that. He's not so horrible that Joe literally can't complete a pass. He's just not a good starter, and not somebody I'd want out there for 16 games. If he had to play 2-3 games, I wouldn't be that concerned. Agreed, it is all just speculation of course and many scenarios could play out (hopefully the one that benefits the team the most). And if we can cut Monroe while keeping the offensive line in equilibrium I would be fine with that. My only concern was that before the draft, the Offensive line aside from the secondary was our weakest units. After the draft we have to assume that our #7th pick overall will start somewhere along the line. Moreover, If Stanley does not beat out Monroe which is a good possibility given that the transition to the NFL can be quite formidable. I would hope that the Ravens keep both on the roster, and while 6 mill is a lot in savings, we have to protect our zillion dollar quarter back. His contract is surely worth more than every member on the team. In addition, I hope you're right, and that Stanley does beat Monroe out and that Hurst provides himself as a reliable back up because that would indeed save the ravens a lot of money by cutting Monroe. ......Maybe go after a legit corner with the savings, but doubt it. Corners like tackles don't come cheap at all :(
  16. If a sixth round corner comes in and starts opposite of Jimmy Smith and excels in his first year I will be elated with joy. Odds are against him, but I hope he excels.
  17. That's not true. We already have Monroe's replacement on the roster already (Stanley). So that money could be spent on adding depth or a starter at another position. Plus, once June 1 comes, that number goes from $2.1M to $6.5M, so much larger cap savings in 2016 if the cut is after June 1st, which it almost certainly would be. Well, while a June first cut does provide a lot of cap space, we still would need an upgrade from Hurst at back up tackle. And assuming Stanley is a baller, I still don't feel it would be wise to have Hurst as our back up given last years debacle. And with significant saving after June first we still carry that fixed cost into 2017 rather than just eating it now. While fixed cost really shouldn't be taken into much consideration, it is still a decision whether the Ravens want to spread that cost over time or deal with it now.
  18. I agree that Joe's contract is leveled out and we are not haunted by Rice's contract or Pitta's much anymore... But I think Monroe stays on the team. I can see Pitta being the odd man out with our tight ends, but I do not think cutting Monroe puts our team in a better spot. When he plays he plays well. The cap savings we get for cutting him is not enough in my opinion to cut him especially with the list of other players out on the market currently. I think Monroe stays. Agreed. We would have to find Monroe's replacement for 2.1 million dollars which isn't going to happen. We need depth at the position. I say Monroe doesn't go anywhere even if Stanley beats him out.
  19. Definitely need more help at corner, but somehow I think the ravens will be fine at middle linebacker even though there's no reason for such speculation. I feel if the Ravens aren't good at anything, they are surely good at drafting and signing middle line backers and linemen. I'm sure they'll reach into the ground and find something at middle linebacker, at least their track record says they will.
  20. If he can play year one that would be super awesome. I don't think there are too many corners outside of round three that can come in and compete at a high level (I'm sure there are exceptions). And picking up a veteran corner would be great. But like the Ravens, every team needs starting corners and it wouldn't be cheap.
  21. I doubt the Ravens will cut Monroe, unless they can get a replacement at 2.1 million dollars which isn't going to happen.
  22. I'm not sure how we will be fine in the secondary. We only have one proven corner on the roster in Jimmy Smith, and It is not like he is a Revis. Wright had one good year and Davis played well before he got injured which was like two games. Put it like this, unless our d line puts up a ton of sacks I think our secondary will be the same old secondary. Weddle should make things better, but this is a make shift secondary that still needs major work.
  23. Especially Carl Davis. He needs to step up this year. Smith and Waller were drafted later, so it is refreshing to see late picks contributing, but I expect to see more from Davis this year.
  24. True, but out of 11 players, I would hope that at least three come in and make a contributions immediately and hopefully another two come ready for 2017. Seems like given 11 picks we are sure to have a few surprises as well. If we don't, well than we can say the dark times are among us haha
  25. Sounds like a guy that just loves football, just what the Ravens neeeded and hopefully he can turn into a 3 down line men that causes havoc on every play. Really excited to see our d line in action (added so much depth) and what Weddle can bring to the table. Our boys in the secondary have looked lost for years now......hopefully that will change.
