  1. I like Torrey Smith as a person, but for the same reason you mentioned about the picks is why I don't want him back. I would prefer a guy that is going to go up and make the contested catch and not just lean up against the guy that is defending him enough to draw a P.I. Again, Torrey is a good dude, but he isn't one of those "play makers" the Ravens should be looking for.
  2. I like the idea of going to get Brandon Marshall if he is there and we can keep Wallace. Marshall may be getting old, but he is a beast in his own right. His size, route running, and toughness would compliment the speed of Wallace and Perriman nicely. The real wild card in this whole thing to me is can Breshad Perriman take off the training wheels and become the play maker we all would love him to be. He flashed the ability at times last year, but other times, not so much. I am definitely in his corner and I hope he can take that next step. If he does, a receiving trio featuring the above 3 could be extremely difficult to match up against. Joe has to play better no doubt, but I think a full year under his belt following the injury should allow him to loosen up a bit like he started to do nearing the end of the season. He is not Aaron Rogers, but he has proven he can get the job done with the right supporting cast. If we could get a 1000 rushing yard season from Dixon or West, we will be in good shape I think. Just my two cents for the off season: (Draft a Outside Corner Early) (Draft a Pass Rusher Early) (Retain Brandon Williams) (Find Another Alex Lewis type prospect for the O-Line to replace Ricky Wagner) (Let Dumervil go!! FYI love this guy but we gotta give some of the young guys a chance) (Sign a Veteran Receiver)
  3. I don't think Barnett translates to NFL very well. He just doesn't have the length or quickness to beat NFL tackles and struggles to keep run blockers off of him. He's more of a DPR (designated pass rusher) than a 4 down player (like Suggs). Hard to spend a high 1st Round pick on a guy that would only play passing downs. That's primarily why you see him ranked well below Garrett & Solomon. In my opinion Solomon Thomas is the best pass rusher in the draft (Garrett has the highest ceiling but I think struggles his 1st few years - i.e. Clowney). The problem with college stats especially with pass rushers is that 95% of the Tackles they face in college are not good enough to be back-up Tackles in the NFL. Only 1 Tackle in the SEC is expected to get drafted in the top 3 rounds - Cam Robinson. And he may be moved to Guard at the NFL level (i.e. Greg Robinson). No doubt I feel like Solomon Thomas could dominate at the next level, but that also leads me to believe he won't make it to us at 14, but Barnett could be there. I think you are correct about the length and foot quickness, but I think his hands are elite. Sizzle doesn't kill guys with his quickness, he wins with his hands at the point of attack and is strength to set the edge against the run. I think Barnett may be able to emulate that play style and that would be perfect for our hybrid 34 scheme. I'm also thinking down the line because I think this may be Darth-Sizzles last ride coming up and Dumervil may not even get another year with guys like Brandon Willams set to be a free agent. Plus conerback is deep in this draft and we can probably get someone that "competes" in the second round without reaching. I've seen some projections with guys like Marlon Humphrey falling out of the first round. He isn't perfect but he would definitely be the type of corner the Ravens like, and he already played in a pro-scheme.
  4. Totally agree with you. I also think we could probably get a quality corner like Desmond King in the 2nd round. I feel like we are really good at scouting O-line guys and could get some quality in the 3rd or 4th round. I don't even think King made Daniel Jeremiahs top 50 and he had 8 picks last year and 3 this year. Dude makes plays, the knock is that he is 5'11 but Tavon Young is even shorter and he's going to be good I think.
  5. I know it's still early in the process and the analyst hardly ever get it right the first time, but from what I can tell. The DBs are getting a lot of love this year and some of those elite pass rushers are falling under the radar. Specifically Derek Barnett!! His measurables are similar to T.Sizz and he produced in college footballs strongest conference. This guy had more tackles for a loss than Myles Garret and Solomon Thomas yet he is ranked below them on several boards including Daniel Jeremiah. 33 Sacks and 52 tackles for a loss in the SEC is nothing to sneeze at, especially when your not on a team that is loaded with talent. If he doesn't test all that great at the combine I think he will continue to fly under the radar just enough for us to snatch him up. He is hands down better then any player listed above and would be a huge addition if we have to let Dumervil walk.
  6. You must have missed the playoff game from the 09 season when the Colts beat us by kicking 5 field goals in a battle of teams with super bowl caliber defenses. Colts won the Super Bowl that year by the way. Our defense looks stout and if the Broncos Seahawks Superbowl is any indication.......DEFENSE wins championships. Perriman has had a drop or two, but he has also made some great grabs. If this offense plays as explosive as it's capable of, with the defense looking good. We will be hard to beat. P.S. I'm all the way in on the Kenneth Dixon bandwagon, I think he is going to be great. Not just good, great. correction ******06 season
  7. The guy is good... no doubt. But I have to agree with Corry. I'm not sure I want the drama here either. The guy gets ejected from a championship game for doing stupid stuff??? Pretty sure Joey Bosa is all about Joey Bosa. I agree that he has caused a lot of drama, but I don't think he's a bad guy. I think he realizes it's a chance he won't be able to do this for 15 plus years like some guys can. He just wants to be taken care of. Also, he hasn't done anything foul on the football field. He got ejected from that championship game on a questionable targeting penalty on the quarterback. Something that might result in a fine at best in the NFL.
  8. If there's one team the Patriots are afraid of, it's us. They know that if it's us vs them in the playoffs, there is no guarantee that they are walking out as the winner. We can beat them. I don't think we have as many holes as the media is selling. I think we are building a team capable of pushing deep into the playoffs and hopefully win it all. I think this draft will seal the deal for generations to come.
