  1. I'm thinking basically every player on the chart with the exception of Wallace. We do need one or two WR's. Pita could be gone unless he is willing to restructure. I would also take a look at Suggs. Running on fumes. Time to start working in younger blood. Of course if we could draft players instead of roster fillers that would help a great deal.

Don't forget Sizzle played through a torn bicep which is supposed to be a season ending injury. I want new blood, but if Sizzle is healthy, there isn't anyone better. Suggs would have a benefited greatly from a healthy Doom, or legit pass rusher opposite of him.

  2. Wasn't the Steelers game disgusting. We could have tromped all over the Dolphins. If Weddle, Orr and Mosley could have stopped 185 lb Antonio Brown from reaching the endzone, or the defense would have stopped any of those plays during that last drive, we would be in the drivers seat to beat NE and head to the big dance. Even PFT in their final ranking rated the Ravens and said it was a shame as it was one of the few teams that had the pieces to make it to the super bowl. Just not the defensive scheme to do so.

What about our Offense? Were they good enough for a SB run? (Heck No!) The defense won 7 games our offense won 1 game (Dolphins). We could have won more games if we let Tucker kick every FG when in his range.
Marty & Harbaugh preferred to let Flacco turn the ball over or fail on 4th down conversions instead of the "Automatic" 3 points.

    And there's the dagger!!

But what about our sorry offense? Were they good enough for a SB run?

  4. We are a Marcus Peters/Von Miller combo away from making it to the playoffs. That is exactly what this team is missing. A premium pass rusher and a shut down corner that can stay healthy.

Offensive identity and Offensive Coordinator is our greatest Flaw. Not understanding the value of time of possession and limiting the amount of snaps a defense sees. The lack of talent on the offensive line. Yanda and Stanley are here to stay, but C: Zutah, RG: (Lewis/Ducasse), and RT: Wagner are all worth upgrading.

Defensively heck yeah we need another starting CB that can cover along with Tavon Young and Jimmy Smith. That gives us some flexibility when someone is hurt. There is no such thing as too many pass rushers in this pass happy league.

  5. So the logic behind the Washington firing is: (Hey Coach Washington, you are such a great coach and have done such a great job that we are going to fire you, because you can find a better job elsewhere). I am going to call the bluff on this idea. This website gets harder and harder to read every day as the Ravens fluff overtakes reality. (Maybe I am wasting my time here)

We definitely can't let Doom go unless we have another capable rusher. The issue the who season on defense was the lack of 2 good rushers due to his injury. Then our issue became the lack of starting caliber corners when Jimmy went down.

  6. Losing Jimmy took us from having 2 good CB's to only 1. Yeah that creates problems when Shareece Wright is playing 60+snaps. Real problem is how bad our offense is. They put our defense in bad spots all year yet the Defense held up in every win or close loss. Throwing the ball 70% of the time is the biggest reason our offense and defense sucked. The defense played too many snaps. Too many chances for NFL offenses to craft successful drives.

I'll elaborate on that, no problem.
NFL teams are built through the draft. I don't think a single knowledgeable football fan would argue that. Some teams do well and get lucky, and hit on players in rounds 4-7 every so often, which is a serious boost to the team. But the foundations of great teams are built in rounds 1-3. This is obvious and simple. Here is a list of 1rst-3rd round picks over the past 7 years.
    Elam
    Perriman
    Arthur Brown
    Maxx Williams
    Cody
    Kindle
    KC
    Kufasi
    Carl Davis
    Brooks
    Jah Reid
    Upshaw

Not only are none of these players even close to sniffing any kind of pro bowl talent, but a lot of them already have or are going to end up not even being able to play in the league what so ever. Because they are not any good. 1rst, 2nd, and 3rd round picks. That aren't even good enough to play in the league.....hmmmm. Drafting is driving the Ravens into the ground. Someone has to answer for that.

This year. Stanley is awesome. At 6 overall, you better get an awesome player. After that, let's talk about this "one of the best drafts in Ravens history".
We draft KC in the second round. Doom and Mosely are out for big sections of the year and KC isn't even good enough to play. at ll really. But he's a "hustle" player. Whatever that means. So we waste a pick on a guy that might never be good enough to play, instead of players that made an impact the entire year, and will be foundations of their franchises going forward- Sterling, Spence, and Michael Thomas are just a couple. All positions we need too.
Then Kufasi. Yeah he got hurt, but bottom line, another high pick with zero production or experience after year 1. Not to mention he was another "hustle" player that didn't have any outstanding traits at all and was someone that "needs time to develop".
Our 4th round was good. Finally. But Young is the only sure thing.
Chris Moore didn't contribute this year, except for a costly drop.
Alex Lewis got a lot of hype, but he was only average when he was on the field.
Henry didn't play at all this year.
And I am a fan of Dixon.
Then Judon looks good but is raw and completely unproven.

So this draft was ok, but the only reason it looks good is cuz we're comparing it to our GARBAGE drafts of the past several years. We drafted about 2 pro bowl players in the past 5 years. And one of those was a kicker. It's pathetic and very sad and helpless for the fans. If we don't hit on rounds 1-3 in the next several years, we'll be sitting in 3rd or 4th in the division for years to come.

Some players are drafted because of their NFL traits and potential. Coming from a small school in Boise, Correa needed a full year on the bench before he is ready to contribute. Harbaugh is also notorious for playing the veteran over the better player, so Correa didn't get playing time this year.

  8. Greg Roman would have been an excellent addition and a real commitment to the running game. He was a winner in SF and made Buffalo respectable on offense with Tyrod Taylor. A guy who knows how to use the talent he is given.

Mike McCoy is more in tune with today's NFL and still produced solid offenses without any talent or help from his GM. We will miss the playoffs again with Marty. That is a fact. It gives me 0 hope in next season.

By retaining his coordinators, Harbs is basically putting the reason for consistent on-field disappointment squarely on Ozzie. Since we all know the owner finds the teams' performance to be unacceptable, he will determine where to make the change - coaching or talent acquisition. He won't accept the status quo. I think he gives Ozzie the vote of confidence over Harbs in that case.

That doesn't mean he's gonna fire Harbaugh before the end of next season though.  I have to say that I agree with Pitta and Joe to a degree.  We haven't had consistency on this team in these positions since the Super Bowl.  Sometimes the only way to improve isn't always to create a revolving door, "until you get the right person in here", as much as it is to train your people to be the right guy.  Sometimes that takes time and work.  If these guys work that well with this coordinator, and don't want another change, I'd say let's see what that does before we go throwing people under the bus.   If some members here had their way, they'd completely clean house.

Problem is Marty throws the ball 40 times a game and doesn't. Joe Flacco will never be successful in that style of offense. It just wears out our defense and they eventually breakdown.

Correa (2nd round pick) and Kaufusi (3rd round pick) were not on the team. Well, Correa was for a little bit as an underwhemling special teamer before he went on IR. That should also tell you a great deal when 6th rounders, 7th rounders, and UDFA are getting a lot of reps for your team....they had to beat out somebody.

Hello everyone, I for one am sorry that we missed the play offs and really expected it to go like it did. Our souls had already been ripped out! Nevertheless my question deals with playoff procedures? I post this because I know no else to go or ask professionally? Now I believe myself to be a real football stud when addressing situational game scenarios of how teams make the playoffs for over 3/4 of my life and I am 55? Or so I thought? During the game between Tampa Bay and Carolina, it was indicated that Indy, Mia, had to win, with a Cowboys win, and a victory over Carolina, Tampa would be in the playoffs. Now my problem deals with Idy and Mia being in the afc and having an impact on a nfc team. Mia played NE and Idy played Jacksonville? (all Afc). How did these two afc games have an impact on a nfc team?

Please someone help me I am so confused! Email me at tomkatt62@gmail.com
this information would really educate me in a field I once believed to hold a Major degree in? However, I have seen differently and need some mental therapy to educate me so I may help others understand, as myself. Then we all can stop giving our own theories (me and my football gurus friends). Please some one help me

It may do with strength of schedule, or record against common opponents as a calculating factor to get the last team in.

Eliminated, Self destruction. Have watched this all season long. Had these guys down by 10 and still we soften up and let them catchup and take the game and the division. No excuses for it. Time for some house cleaning . Steve B needs to mandate some big coaching changes, Secondary needs some talent now and that is where the focus should be in the Spring. Have to say that Joe played a good game, but the D let the Ravens Nation down again. Have to agree that Pees and Morningwegh need to go. Same old stale game plans

Not sold on Pees leaving, but his prevent defense needs a major assessment. Our offense has shot our defense in the foot all year. Then we lose Jimmy Smith and go from having 2 good starting corners to just 1. And that 1 is Tavon Young who is only 5 10 which is a mismatch against Tall WRs. Our Offense was a 3 and out machine this year. Our defense played a lot of snaps this year. They will fatigue at some point. It happens if you can't control the clock on offense.
