  1. Richard Sherman was a 5th round pick. He fit the scheme and he worked his butt off. He also has some decent players around him :P
  2. A slot WR will run different routes like slants and drags that are designed to lose DBs in the wash of LBs, RBs, and TEs that may be within 5 yds of the LoS. Yes the nickel guy could line up anywhere, but a DT who specializes in stuffing the run can line up at DE and rush the passer too, they're both DL afterall. The difference here is nitch ability and effectiveness. Powers is really good in the nickel position and he also plays outside well. Time will tell where Canady is best suited, good luck to him.
  3. I like it better when everyone "has negative reviews" on us and our chances. We were the early season darlings last year and look how that ended up. I know that what these guys say has little to do with what happens on the field, but for my money I'll take them bad mouthing us 25/8.
  4. I always wanted Brooks to 'the guy', but that never materialized. I hope that he can show improvement in game situations and be our 4th safety. Given his ability to play a little corner, I see him as having more upside that Elam at this point.
  5. Somehow, even though the title explains clearly what the content is, I was expecting there to be more to this article. I guess it is a REALLY slow news day. Funny clip of Sizzle though.
  6. I like West as a runner. I would like to see him as a depth guy who can fill in when we have nicks and dings to our starters. I had medium hopes for the Richardson experiment but if he can't get on the field I doubt he will make it past the first round of cuts. I also like Zo, but the guy can't stay healthy and he consistently has issues with his feet.
  7. Great news for Breshad! Good luck young man. And for all of you fair weather fans who just want to be negative, maybe now you can take a chill pill? If not go root for another team.
  8. A lot of you are speculating on the would of, could of's about SSS and Boldin playing together. While that would be awesome and all, if Boldin stayed - picking up SSS might never have been a consideration. From a personnel perspective they are the same player.
  9. He has the "tools" to create turnovers. To his credit, it is hard to intercept the ball if no one throws at you. I like the kid, he is a vicious hitter and has a knack for being around the ball. I suspect that all of this talk is mute anyway and that your desire for Hargreaves is more probable.
  10. Born in Baltimore but I have called Nashville home since '00. I'd love to meet up with some other folks around the 'ville and watch games.
  11. I have a question about ILB. I just read/saw a 5 round mock draft over on NFL.com and Reuter had us taking Scooby Wright (ILB) out of AZ in the 3rd. I looked at their breakdown of the kid (compared him to Zach Thomas) and am now wishing and dreaming he will be in purple come May. I don't get a chance to watch a ton of CFB, does anyone know more about this young man?
  12. I agree with what you have said. In addition, given his injury history and how enamored we are NOT with our T depth it would be irresponsible to not look at other options.
  13. I don't know if a lot of people forgot or what. T Rich started 15 games and ran for 956 yds with 11 TDs as a rookie adding 367 yds on 51 receptions. Only 9 runners had more yards this year and no one had more rushing TDs. He was the next coming of Jim Brown and then a new regime traded him because he was more valuable as picks than as a runner to them. If I told you our starting runner would put up 1300 scrimmage yards and 11 scores before any other RB stepped on the field you would take that in a heartbeat. I understand that he looked horrible the last couple of years but (insert poor system/poor o-line/not enough time argument here). I'm saying to forget about sliced bread, but people saying this guy is a loser seem to have forgotten playing against him. The guy should be motivated to silence his haters and if we benefit from that than everyone wins! I think it is a low risk - high reward move on our part. Good luck Trent wherever you land.
  14. I agree. I think that we are in a good position to use our normal FA strategy and pick up good players that get cut while using the draft to find some good depth/potential starters in the early rounds. I've been really excited by our FA moves this year.
  15. I have to admit, I was against us signing him at first because of his Steeler days, but this is a pro game and I am a pro fan (lol). Bygones and all that, welcome aboard Mike! Let's do big things in 16.
