  1. I still like the Ravens' draft over anyone else's in the division. Bring in Mangold as center, sign a veteran WR to a one-year deal, deal God a comp pick to keep Camp healthy, and our work here is done.
  2. Tim Williams reminds Perkins of Lawrence Taylor? Ray needs to get off the weed.
  3. The common thread of this draft (which I think is a very good one) is physicality. These guys are going to impose their will on their opponents. In other words, they're Ravens. Wish we could have landed a WR, but no one ever gets all they want and the guys we targeted were taken before we could pick. We'll undoubtedly pick up a veteran WR later who will be more productive this year than anyone we could have drafted from Round 4 on. We shored up the secondary, plugged a big hole in the O line, replaced Jernigan, and added two quality pass rushers who will push Judon and Z. Smith for playing time. Good job, Oz!
  4. Zzzzzzz.....practice squad.
  5. Hope Joe can sleep now.
  6. Good value pick. Just filled a hole at guard, so Lewis can move out to tackle.
  7. If Corey Davis had been available at #16 (like all the mock drafts predicted -- "mock" is appropriate, since except for Myles Garrett, they got everything wrong), we would have picked him. But he wasn't, so we shored up a position of need at CB. Then we did a very good of improving the pass rush -- again, a position of need. Glad we didn't go for an OL early -- this year's OL class is weak. Still have time to address this as we have done before in later rounds.
  8. At first I hated this pick, but now in retrospect, it seems more sensible. The best QBs (Brady, Rodgers) kill zone defense. Now with the best safety tandem in the league, the Ravens need press corners. Remember Shareece playing 8 yards off the WR on every play? Now we have 3 corners who can press. Since Ozzie had the inside scoop on all the AL players, Foster (who I was hoping for) and Allen must have issues we don't know about. In any case, nailing the next 3 picks is imperative. I hope one of them is Juju.
  9. I agree. I was sure we were going to take Foster, but the fact that we didn't and fell so far down the board says to me there must be some character issues.
  10. Cheer up, everybody! Imagine being a Bears fan.
  11. If Davis, Williams, Fournette, McCaffrey, and Foster are gone by #16, trade back for an extra pick.
  12. 1. We drafted Oher to be a franchise LT, so different position entirely. 2. We did just draft Stanley, who looks to be pretty good. I had no problem with the Stanley pick, because after the Chargers snapped up Bosa, Stanley was the clear choice. Cam Robinson is no Stanley. If memory serves, in recent years most OL and DL from Alabama picked early have been busts.
  13. Please no OL in round 1. We did that with Michael Oher. How did that work out? Picked Lewis and Wagner in middle rounds. Neither was hyped, but played well. Unless another Ogden is out there, can't see bypassing all the excellent LBs, rushers, and receivers available to get a RT.
  14. If Corey Davis is around at #16, take him. Otherwise, take top edge rusher and target JuJu in round 2.
  15. If he's top of the Ravens board at #16, trade back.
  16. No matter how good your defensive backfield is, if you give a good QB time to throw, he'll eventually find someone open. That's why a primo edge rusher must be a priority over a CB for the Ravens. There are so many good CBs is this draft, no need to take one in first round. That being said, if either Davis or Williams is available at #16, you take him and do high-fives.
  17. You must have been REALLY late, Sarah.
  18. So who do Ravens like better -- McKinley or Barnett?
  19. Using a #1 on an OT would be nuts. No player available is worth it. Find one in later rounds (like we did with Wagner). What we need are playmakers -- dynamic receiver, edge rusher, CB. I'd also be very happy with Reuben Foster as #1. Huge step up from KC. Imagine pairing him with Mosley.
  20. There is only one team whose fans are happy with them every year and that's the Patriots. That's because they have the best defensive mind (Belichick), the best offensive mind (McDaniel), and the best QB (Brady). They can lose key players to injury, trade key players to save money, and they still win. No one else can.
  21. Bringing back Webb makes perfect sense. He won't cost much, he's the ultimate team player, he'll add depth to an improved secondary, and his presence won't affect our draft at all. No, he isn't an All-Pro, but his #16 rating is better than most of the Ravens' starters.
  22. Hope this boat isn't owned by Costa.
  23. Corey Davis and Mike Williams will be gone by #16, but I would be OK with taking Ross. Given his size, put him in the slot and he will be terrific. Also be OK with taking McCaffrey for the same reason. Not as fast, but plenty fast enough, great receiver, moves the chains, excellent return man. Ravens need more weapons on O.
  24. Where did the Ravens rank in time of possession? Because of our pass-happy offense, probably near the bottom. Which means our D was on the field too long and gassed by the 4th quarter. There goes the pass rush and the finish.
  25. Rather take an edge rusher or WR in Round 1, then Sidney Jones in Round 2.
