  1. What makes you think Lewis is in the doghouse?
  2. It was my understanding that the op was talking about when the veteran players get healthy.
  3. I was going to edit my post last night, but it was late so I didn't. I re-read what you wrote and kind of got the sense we were saying the same thing. I wasn't implying that there was no veteran presence on the team, much like you weren't implying there was no contribution from younger players. Which is what I stupidly assumed you meant, and I'm sorry for that (it was late lol). One thing I will say is that just because the coaching does not think a younger player is worthy of the starting role, does not mean it is the right decision. We saw this with Judon yesterday getting 2 sacks, after being inactive earlier for the older and more expensive Dumervil. Now, I'm not saying cut Dumervil, but Judon should at least get some pt moving forward (which is what the op is all about).
  4. If only there was a top 5 guard cut in the preseason the Ravens could have claimed off waivers. Line would be Sitton in a much better place right now.
  5. For what it's worth, Roethlisberger said he would have played today if it was the playoffs according to Nantz/Simms. Wouldn't be surprised if he plays in 2 weeks.
  6. An important fact is that the Browns have 0 wins and Ravens have 3. Not quite equivalent.
  7. I don't think mental mistakes are really the issue. Just not enough talent.
  8. They're losing games because the roster is just not that talented because of years of poor drafting. I'm not sure you even thought about what you said about the Super Bowl team, but you couldn't be more wrong. Flacco was in his 5th year, Rice isn't even 30 yet, Bernard Pierce was a rookie, Torrey Smith was young, Pitta in his 3rd year, Osemele was a rookie, Arthur Jones in his 3rd year, McPhee in his 2nd, Kruger still on his rookie deal, Upshaw was a rookie, Jimmy Smith a 2nd year player. And Jimmy Smith rarely saw the field his rookie year because he hurt his ankle on the opening kickoff. This team isn't bad because of players "aging quickly". It's bad because the front office drafted terribly in recent years and had to use the extra cap money to fix up their mistakes instead of make the team better (Weddle/Elam, Dumervil/Upshaw, Wallace/insane amount of failed receiver picks).
  9. This is ridiculous. Do you not remember the Ravens making the playoffs 6 of Harbaugh's first 7 years? Or the Super Bowl 4 years ago? Hate Harbaugh all you want, but saying he doesn't know how to put a winning team together is just idiotic.
  10. I think the Ravens definitely need to start playing the younger players. The lack of playmakers on either side of the ball is killing this team. The only player that even has an argument to be considered a playmaker is Mosley (and maybe Jernigan). Give the young guys a shot and see what's there. I will say that it seems like the front office realized they weren't getting it done and made some changes because it seems like this rookie class is the best in recent years by far, and this is without any contributions from the 2nd and 3rd round picks. Edit: I feel like people are seeing the word "tank" and not even reading the post. All op is saying is that more reps should be given to younger players, not to lose on purpose.
  11. What do you guys think of Marquis Haynes from Ole Miss? This class is loaded with edge players and I would love to see the Ravens take one in the 1st. Has to be the biggest need in my opinion.
  12. Tough to be the new Browns when the real Browns are 0-7.
  13. Anyone else surprised by the amount of playing time Taliaferro got? I personally was excited to see what Dixon has to offer, but he obviously has not done much in his limited reps. Hopefully it's a case of the staff really liking Taliaferro and not Dixon playing poorly.
  14. I think we've found the next Belichick.
  15. Oh yeah I wasn't surprised by it either. I don't understand acting high and mighty after a game in which you had little to no impact on the outcome. Even the players shake hands afterwards. Just a sad situation all around.
  16. The amount of confrontation from the Raiders fans yesterday was a joke. These clowns were acting like they played in the game. I hope he pulls through and will be ok. Some people don't realize football is just a game.
  17. I don't really think the play calling was bad. What did you think was bad about it or had done differently? Not trying to be confrontational, just curious. But he did make adjustments when Flacco told him to start calling more deep balls. I know some can look at this as a negative (he should've realized it), but there is some positivity to that. Sometimes the QB and coordinator just see the game differently. And it's a good and refreshing sign that he was open to input and changed his game plan. I know of one coordinator the Ravens had that was too stubborn to change anything or give Flacco the freedom other QBs had.
  18. I really don't understand the fanbase's obsession with blaming coordinators. The only gripe could be not running the ball more in the first half, but he made an adjustment (something everyone has been clamoring for). His offense put up enough to win the game. He didn't drop that ball on the last drive, or underthrow Pitta, or constantly run routes a yard in front on the first down, nor is he responsible for the absolutely inept backup LT Hurst. He has no business being on an NFL roster. The amount of people posting "Trestman sucks!" and then not saying why or what they would do differently is laughable.
  19. Finally got the running game going, looks like it might have just been Forsett. Luckily Irvin and Mack is probably the best pass rushing duo the Ravens will face this year. Amerson and Smith are no joke at corner either. Tough matchup with the backup left side of the line. The defense played really well too. Wright got absolutely owned by Crabtree a couple times, but other than that they held the #2 offense in check. Run defense is real, especially against that o-line.
  20. Couldn't agree more. Right now Forsett isn't making any one miss at all. Pretty much getting all his yards before contact. The leaders for that stat are usually around 3, which is pretty much what Forsett is averaging per carry. Now I'm not sure what Forsett is averaging before contact this year, so this is just a theory.
  21. Dixon if he is active. I'm interested to see how Perriman does against the bigger corners. Torrey Smith seemed to have trouble against them (Browner in particular). Defense I'm going to go with Webb. I think they'll play him over top of Cooper a lot.
  22. Probably can add Correa to that too. Him being there on the Jags' final drive has to be a good sign, right? If Correa, ZDS, or Judon can develop into a consistent rusher, this defense will be scary good.
  23. Yeah, he won't get it over Zeke or Wentz if they stay healthy all year, but Dixon has a legitimate shot at third lol. Him and Will Fuller will be up there.
  24. Zrebiec on Twitter
  25. Yeah I was assuming he would be 100% in my previous posts because rushing him back would be a bad idea. In all likelihood, we'll see something similar to what Jacksonville did with Ivory last week.
