  1. Any smart coach would have their guy run it out to get rid of the 2 minute warning. At least I would think so lol
  2. Talked about this earlier in the thread. Game was essentially over with a first down. Clock was at 2:03 so a return gets rid of 2 minute warning. I'd much rather lose being aggressive and trying to get the ball rather than trying to stop best QB of all time. Plus, best case you stop them and get the ball at around the 35-40 with no TO's (assuming Hester catches the punt). If you get the kick, you obviously have the all at the 45/50 with your TO's left. If they get it and go 3 and out, you get it at the 15/20 (again assuming Hester catches it lol). I think the 20 yards or so is worth the gamble, especially when factoring in the opposing QB.
  3. The more I think about it, the more genius their gameplan on defense was. We've seen time and time again Flacco almost creating pressure in his head when getting confused. While they only rushed 3 the majority of the time, they did it while showing blitz and rushing different guys. Flacco then panics and checks down every damn play too quickly. If I'm a DC, I'm doing this to him every single game.
  4. It looked like Perriman didn't pick up the blitz and was running a deep route. ESPN had a weird lack of replays so that's just based on the live watch, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened.
  5. I mean Brady did throw for 400 and is probably the best QB of all time. Getting a 3 and out there is much easier said than done. Kickoff was at 2:03 I think, so any return would have lost the 2 minute warning. I'd much rather lose trying for the onside kick than hoping to stop Brady. Edit: I would also say your guess of getting the ball at the 35 or so is accurate. Wouldn't the extra 15-20 yards be worth the chance to get the ball at the ~50 with the timeouts left?
  6. Why was the onsides kick call dumb? I'd rather take a chance to not give the ball to the best QB ever. Game was pretty much over with a 1st down anyways.
  7. I know Gruden agrees with you lol. Talking about him non-stop (rightfully so).
  8. Then the blown coverage and safety were "gifted wrapped" too.
  9. The Ravens had the 5th best pass defense in DVOA. While secondary depth is an issue, the starters are very good. Young is a budding shutdown corner and Jimmy is good in his own right. Add a pass rusher to this team and the defense is scary good.
  10. Add a 1st round edge rusher to this defense and no one will score.
  11. Oh yeah, I couldn't either. I think he's been a good player for the Ravens, but top 85% is pushing it I think. I might be a bit bias right now because I think he totally wimped up on that interception tonight. I just don't think the coaching staff can justify not playing Wallace-Perriman-Smith on most plays.
  12. He's the most talented receiver on the roster right now and it's not particularly close, in my opinion. Edit: As in physical talent. Smith is obviously a better receiver than him now.
  13. Bad: Elam is the worst player in the league; I like the guy, but he just is not that good. Coaching was awful as usual. How do they not go up-tempo on that last drive? Onsides kick was trash. PERRIMAN NEEDS TO PLAY MORE. Hester continues to not catch a punt and ends up screwing the offense by starting inside the 5. Wallace with a Torrey Smith like effort on that deep ball INT. Good: Everyone on the defense except Elam. Perriman continuing to make plays despite unforgivable limited reps. Dixon is a star and there is no reason West should be taking touches away from him (credit the coaching staff for finally realizing this). Waller is a matchup nightmare; passing personnel should be Waller-Smith-Wallace-Perriman-Dixon.
  14. PUT PERRIMAN ON THE DAMN FIELD
  15. Throw him the ball
  16. I don't really think he got abused; their receivers didn't really do much. I was at the game so maybe I am missing something from TV. And yeah it is definitely an encouraging sign he finished the game very strongly.
  17. Young Pierce Stanley Lewis Judon Dixon Moore Damn, it's crazy how many rookies are contributing this year and 2 of the top 3 picks are not. I think this will be the rebuilding year we'll look back at in the future. I also think Kaufusi will be really good next year. He's a freak.
  18. Why do you think this? I personally thought he played great and is going to be really good across from Jimmy when he gets back.
  19. What do you mean?
  20. Yeah that was strange when he was out. They said illness, but that seems weird since he came back in. The comeback he ran was an awesome route. I don't get why they didn't go back to him since he was virtually the only successful part of the offense for a bit.
  21. Why did they get away from Perriman? He beat Burns for a TD that Flacco missed and then was very good in the last possession of the first half. Don't think he even go tin much in the 2nd half.
  22. Yeah he's a gym rat. Sneaky fast. High football IQ. Lives in the film room. First one in, last one to leave. He's got the hard hat mentality. Mike Williams will probably be the only guy viable with how high a pick the Ravens will have, assuming Davis doesn't blow up the combine.
  23. Burn his house down and demand he gets cut.
