Interesting perspective. We are not there day in and day out, so it's hard to know if guys like Brown, McPhee, and Kruger would have been good players earlier on. However, it just seems like often enough once these players finally get on the field, they play very well, and then right after signing a contract elsewhere. My thinking is that a guy like Arthur Brown who was a second round pick should of got a lot more playing time to really see what he had to offer. I really like Brown. I'll say it again: I like his college tape at linebacker is better than Myles Jack (yes Jack is a better athlete with higher upside). Arthur is the PERFECT complement to Mosley. I can vividly still recall a preseason game against the Vikings where Arthur Brown chased down Adrian Peterson to the sideline and brought him down, even twisting AP's ankle. I remember thinking, "wow! This dude has insane athleticism and he's going to be great." Then he never played...

This topic is quite bittersweet. First of all, its amazing we have so much talent on our roster that its next to impossible to predict what our 53 man roster will be. There are so many options in fact, that I don't recall us ever having so much talent across the board. There are position battles at many positions. Then, there are multiple players vying for the backup roles. The sad part is, we will have to cut some really good players.

Not sure about predictions, but here are my three players I'm looking at that if they can perform well, will make our defense very good. 1. Ladarius Webb at safety. I felt our CB play wasn't terrible last year, but our safety play was! Kendrick Lewis was atrocious. So many big plays given up and no real help to our CBs. Look at when we won the Super Bowl: Ed Reed at FS and Pollard at SS made so many big plays along the way. Pollard knocking out Steven Ridley and making him fumble was epic! But I think if Webb could make the adjustment, playing off the ball as a true ball hawking safety could be amazing! Pair him with Weddle back there, and man, that's good stuff. 2. Arthur Brown at ILB. Mosley is a true Mike MLB; he can tackle, shed blocks, and blitz with the best of them. To perfectly complement Mosley, we need an ILB that can really shine in coverage. Before the draft, picturing Myles Jack along side Mosley got fans salivating. Dear I say this: I liked Arthur Brown's tape at MLB better than Jacks, albeit him not being the player or having nearly the ceiling as Jack. Mosley excelling around the line of scrimmage and having Arthur Brown's nimbleness flying around sideline to sideline and having him cover RBs and TEs would be pretty sweet. I remember watching Arthur Brown ride to the sideline, chasing down Adrian Peterson and twisting his ankle. 3. Bronson Kaufusi at 3-4 DE. I think out of everybody we drafted, outside of Stanley, Kaufusi will have the biggest impact. I think he is just about on par with DeForest Buckner, just not as polished. He seems to have great explosion to rush the passer from the inside and outside and has the length to provide great run support. Having Kaufusi, Brandon Williams, and Jernigan as the base of our defense is great! Those are some full grown men up front. Urban, Guy, Davis, and Lewis-Moore are some very solid depth.

I have a gut feeling that either Judon and/or Ochi will be dudes who we talk about in 3 or 4 years as complete steals!

In a perfect world, Arthur Brown will play to his potential. And his potential as a great slightly undersized athletic cover ILB to complement Mosley is high. If you watch his college film, one can argue he's similar to Myles Jack (not quite though). Orr came in to play on passing downs last year because Daryl Smith couldn't cover anybody. Seeing Arthur Brown and Mosley together finally would be awesome. I'll never forget when I saw Brown run to the sideline crazy fast, catch Adrian Peterson and twist his ankle. The dude needs to stay healthy and hopefully can pick up the defense finally.

Stanley for sure! I don't love him at guard and I hope he doesn't start there. He is not the scrappy mauler type like a KO or Yanda. His athletism and footwork makes him a very special tackle that can pass block and run block exceptionally well. I like Kaufausi a lot. Watching his tape compared to DeForest Buckner, I don't see a huge difference. Very simlar exceptional size, athleticism, and power. Buckner had more production, but Kaufausi also concentrated on basketball a lot. But again ,I think Kaufausi looked about as good as Buckner a lot of the time and Buckner got drafted 7th overall. Perfect fit as a 3-4 DE. Put him next to Brandon Williams and Timmy, and it looks good.

Is this guy taken too early? No one knows yet; he could be since he's a developmental guy. However, if he had multiple years like his final season, he'd be right up there with Buckner! He didn't concentrate because he played basketball, meaning he's super athletic. (Just like Stanley). But anyways, Ozzie believes teams success starts up front. We got a complete stud o-lineman that will bolster our o-line (zone blocking, yes please) for years. Then we get a potential monster pass rusher -who we felt was better than Spence apparently- and a dude who can turn out to be the best 3-4 DE in the draft. Bronson, Brandon Williams, and Timmy. Suggs, Doom, Correa, and Z. Smith at OLB. Then we got dudes like Davis, Urban, and Lewis-Moore to backup our dline. In the 4th, Ozzie is going to go wild and get us some CB help. So y'all calm the hell down.

You can look at him as a stud edge setting OLB like Upshaw. But unlike Upshaw, this dude can really rush the passer! We still got Zadarius Smith, too.

Monroe at LT, Jensen LG, Zuttah C, Yanda RG, Tunsil RT. Urschel as center and guard depth, and Rick Wagner as tackle depth is really solid on paper! We will most likely add another guard and/or tackle via the draft, too. If Monroe gets hurt again, simply put Tunsil at LT and Wagner at RT. Add our rotation of TEs into the equation... I honestly think we will have the best group of TEs in the NFL if Pitta can come back. (Pitta, Watson, Gilmore, and Maxx Williams!)

Nice mock! I got the Tunsil thing figured out: by drafting Tunsil, we start Monroe at LT and Tunsil at RT for a year. Then, if Monroe gets hurt, slide Tunsil to LT and start Wagner at RT! Anyways, having Wagner as a backup would be incredible and I would feel really good about our o-line. Then just take a solid guard prospect in the middle rounds. Tunsil, sans Ramsey, is the only prospect that you can truly say, "that guys is a 100% safe pick and will no doubt be an impact player right away and for years to come."

Easy. Best CB available.

We trade with the Eagles at 8. Eagles get a QB at pick 6 ahead of San Francisco, and we draft VH3 at 8. Then we get an additional pick in the second round.

Has anybody watched Arthur Brown's film coming out of college? His highlights are great! Crazy athletic MLB like Jack (although not nearly Myles Jack), and would be the perfect compliment to CJ if he can actually get on the field. Every time I've seen Arthur Brown in game action for the Ravens I thought he looked good. His speed jumps off the screen, in fact, I remember him running sideline to sideline to tackle Adrian Peterson and he twisted AP's ankle. I think his problem was his mental capacity wasn't big enough to learn the playbook at the time and didn't get playing time once ready being stuck behind D. Smith and Mosely. I think if we draft a middle round ILB and have Orr, Arthur Brown, and a rookie battle it out, we could find a suitable fit. I think our d-line and Mosley could provide good enough run support that our second ILB could lack in that area a little as long as they have above average pass cover ability.

I think we could get a good tackle prospect in rounds 2-4 - a guy that doesn't have to start right away and can play behind Monroe and learn technique from Castillo and crew. So, yes, Stanley would be my worst case scenario. As for Buckner, I think he would be a really good scheme fit for us. You look at a guy like Leonard Williams, whom many people considered the number one talent in the draft, and Buckner had a lot more QB pressures, more sacks, and tackles for loss his senior year. Buckners PPF rating (if that means anything to you) was by far the highest for a college DT and was the highest in two years. Buckner is a beast in the trenches and wreaks havoc on guards, especially if Brandon Williams was next to him and Dumveril or Suggs rushing on the other side of him. While he does cause a lot of disruption in the pass rush, he's a great run defender too. Buckner is most compared to Calais Campbell and rightfully so. They both have similar elite size and had very similar combine numbers (Buckner slightly better). Calais Cambell is the second best 3-4 DE in the NFL, behind JJ, of course. Buckner, B. Williams, and Jernigan would be pretty nasty, and would surely disrupt the line a scrimmage.

We definitely need more depth at all O-line positions. I do think however that we need more help at tackle than we do at guard. Losing KO is tough because he is a top 5 or even top 3 guard in the NFL. However, we still have Yanda (the best guard in the NFL), Jensen who is a mauler, and Urschel who's showed a lot of promise (I like him better at center though). Both Jensen and Urschel could also play center to back up Zuttah. If we could add one more good guard to back them up, I'd feel really good. It's easier to find a guard than a tackle. Tackle you need ideal size, strength, athleticism, and intelligence- while a guard can lack some of these traits and still be effective. I don't understand all this talk about Waggoner being ineffective. He was rated at one point a top 3 right tackle; he was hurt this past year, but I think he'll rebound to be a solid player for us. I've seen him provide stellar run blocking. Monroe is the true wild card. When healthy has he been good? Yeah. Sure. But, can we count on him to be healthy? Monroe claims he's 100% right now, but he probably just doesn't want to be cut. Say Monroe is healthy and is able to be the starting LT for us, who are our backups? Hurst? That's bad. We NEED more tackle depth. If we draft Stanley, I think it will solidify our line with depth and our future LT, but it wouldn't provide us an "instant coffee guy." I think we could find a solid tackle in the end of the second or third round. I didn't like us getting rid of Jah Reid. He showed glimpses of being good, but was hurt and penalized often; he went to the Chiefs and played very well for them. He was good depth for us.

Remember when we had Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith catching deep balls every game? That helped open up our offense. Guys like Pitta and Boldin would rake in first downs all day as a result. I see the same with Perriman and Mike Williams...but potentially better. Add a solid running game with Buck, Forsett, and Taliafero and I'm liking it.

I truly believe Flacco throws best deep ball in the league. Remember Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith seemingly making at least one 50 yard completion game? Anyways, we got Perriman and Wallace as deep threats to take the top off the defense. Perriman's 40 yard speed is in the 4.2s which is disgusting for a 6'2 guy. We got SSS and Aiken for intermediate and contested catches. Campanaro is a shifty prototypical slot guy. And our TEs are going to be great going over the middle and picking up first downs.

I dig this! I feel our CBs weren't as bad as people think, although we did lack depth. I think we gave up way too many big plays on the back end, and I think Lewis played so poor we could of had nobody at FS and we would have had the same results. Ed Reed still was an elite saftey, albeit being up there in age and lacking the athleticism he once had. He had football intelligence and was a ball hawk, just like Weddle. A true center fielder is what we need. Will Hill is a great at SS; he can play the run and physcial enough to cover TEs. Now we got Weddle and Hill at saftey, with Elam and Brooks backing up, with a ton of upside if they can play to their potential. And then we got guys like Tarawick that are good...but great on special teams. AND, we got Webb back at CB providing more depth. Jimmy Smith, Webb, Arrlington, and Wright is a good foundation

If draft Stanley, that would solidify our LT position for years (if we don't resign KO. Keep your fingers crossed that we do). Yes, I know it would be a "boring pick." We cut Monroe, saving a lot of money, and we make a splash in free agency

I understand Myles Jack is an insanely talented kid; he would fit great in our defense, too. Is taking a MLB in a 3-4 defense at number 6 too high? Arthur Brown could be a poor mans Myles Jack if he figures his [profanity deleted] out! If you watch his college tape, he looks freakishly athletic. But hell, I'll take Mosely and Jack any day. Playing the Tampa 2 would be the perfect scheme

I think Bosa would be more versatile for us. Bosa would be a great 3-4 DE, but having him play OLB on first and second down would be amazing. He can set the edge and rush the passer (unlike Upshaw). Like people have mentioned, he would be like McPhee. The biggest beneficiary of this would be Dumervil, whom would be able to get rest and come in on downs where his primary focus is solely on rushing the pass- what he does best. Bosa could play DE and OLB, where Buckner I could only see playing DE. Buckner, however, I can see becoming the best 3-4 DE in football! He is amazing against the run and can get pressure on the QB. Either guy would be a solid pick IMO.

I think everybody agrees that we could use some more talent at CB, and a healthy Jimmy Smith is key. However, when I look back on the season, I place a lot of blame on the free safety position, namely Kendrick Lewis. I feel like every game I caught myself yelling profanities at the TV directed at Kendrick Lewis! Our problem was how many big plays we gave up. Will Hill got bounced around at both safety positions; I think he will really shine if he's able to stay at SS all year. He's athletic, instinctual, and physical enough to provide run support around the line and cover TE's and RB's. I have a really good feeling that having Webb at FS providing the last line of defense would be an instant fix for our secondary. Then hopefully Elam can finally stay healthy and play to half the potential a 1st round pick should, and Brooks has shown glimpses of promise. If these two guys can play well, our safety positions will be further solidified, and between Webb, Elam, and Brooks, they provide depth at safety and nickel corner too.

Canty, goodbye. Add Deforest Buckner via draft, and that would give us Buckner, Williams, and Jernigan. That would be the best 3-4 DLine in football. Young and explosive. Good against run and pass. Have Urban and Guy to fill in behind them. Carl Davis provides some added depth at NT. Boom! The strongest part of our team. We can keep our Dline fresh all game by rotating guys in.

Did anybody watch how well Ryan Jensen played the last few games for the Ravens? He was a road grader and he plays with a real nasty streak! Jensen and Osemele looked really solid from the left side together. What we need is some good insurance at the tackle position. Monroe and Wagner are good players...when healthy. James Hurst is ok, but I'd feel a lot better with another solid tackle in the first 4 rounds of the draft. At guard between Yanda, Jensen, and Urschel I think we are ok. Add another zone scheme capable guard via FA or the draft as a backup, and I'm liking our O-Line. Remember, Jensen and Urschel can play center too if need be. Zuttah is a solid center for us, too.

If Buckner is BPA, I think it would be a great pick. Having our D-Line as Buckner, Brandon Williams, and Jernigan, that would equate to the best 3-4 D-Line in football! All young and extremely talented. Would it be nice to get Jalen Ramsey or an elite pass rusher? Yes. However, having a D-Line with that much ferocity would cause a ripple effect throughout the defense. The run defense generated alone from those three guys would be really solid, freeing up linebackers (about 940lbs of insanely athletic big guys with huge motors). If we can generate solid pressure from a 3 (or 4) man pass rush, it would make it way easier to provide additional coverage. Also, a solid 3 (or 4) man pass rush would make it way easier for our outside linebackers to generate sacks. Lets look at the potential difference from this year to next: The opposing team blocking Upshaw/Dumervil and Guy/Davis, OR Buckner and Dumervil. What about Jernigan and Z. Smith, OR Suggs and Jernigan. On top of that, I'm assuming we bring in another OLB/pass rusher via free agency or the draft. That would be a very formidable front 7!
