I agree, depending on who else is there. Lawson has a ton of talent is would probably out play a lot of people taken ahead of him, as long as he stays healthy. But, given the Ravens' recent history with injuries, that's a big if.

I don't really think you can take injury as a big factor. It's all luck really: Mosley had a decent amount of nagging injuries when he declared and has missed 4 games in 3 years now, while Perriman didn't have any and now has two knee injuries in two seasons. All I'm saying is the injury risk is there for any player.

  2. I didn't like it not long ago, but if we chose Kamara in the 2nd I'd be screaming with joy. Don't care about the needs, he is probably the best RB in the class when it's all said and done. The ease with which he evades tackles is unreal, looks like Le'veon...

Yeah I see the similarities but I think baker is a better prospect. He's a lot less reckless and more formed and disciplined, or at least it appears that way. I thought Joseph looked instinctive but played risky and with little regard for his body, baker not so much.

Exactly, that's why I said Baker was «smarter». Never out of position.

He is undersized a bit so he may drop due to that but I see him as a top 50 selection myself.

Joseph was undersized AND coming off a torn ACL AND not as good a prospect as Baker and still went 14th (I believe) overall, so while I don't expect Baker to go that high in a loaded draft class, he should definitely go very early.

Anyone here watched film on budda baker? The boy is a BEAST! How is he being mocked in the 3rd round everywhere? It's rumored he ran a 4.35 at UWs practice and he plays like it, and he plays with intensity and instinct. Makes plays against the run and pass. Dude is a bonafide 2nd round talent at worst

He's not going out of the top40, medias are completely off on him. He reminds me of a faster and smarter Karl Joseph. No way he goes to the 3rd barring a bad combine.

You're judging the wrong stuff. His tape tells the whole story, his ability to know every little move the receiver is gonna make and mirror step for step is by far the tops in the class and that footwork is not something that any difference in competition can affect. The ball skills and press etc can be questioned for level of competition but his pure man coverage is unquestionable

Well what is scary is I don't think he knows. He just reacts so quickly, any separation the WR can get is suppressed in an instant.

  7. I love a lot of those picks, but I think Watt is too optimistic, I don't see the Pats passing on him honestly.

My main concern is the absence of a C.

Otherwise I'd still be excited with Wilson, Watt is a guy I wouldn't mind taking in the 1st, and Ford is a really really good pick at this point. Cox is a guy I also like quite a bit, I think he has an injury history though.

How much weight do you think he would need to gain to play ILB though? Last I seen he weighed roughly 210. You'd think he round need to be at least 225 to hang around the trenches

Yeah I went back to his tape after posting this message and he looks so small... 225 would be nice but he would probably lose a lot of speed so... I don't know about him.

when i mocked him to us i foresaw this.

sike, but really, i like peppers, and i only mocked him to us because he strikes me as a player ozzie would take, but i cant say i'd be happy with it at this point, even after losing orr. i mean, id certainly be excited to have such a flashy prospect who can fill multiple roles, but after noticing guys like marshon lattimore, quincy wilson, tj watt, charles harris, and seeing a guy like derek barnett creeping lower in many mock drafts, i gotta say the idea upsets me. im thinking we can really make a big splash with this pick, and while i think peppers is a hell of a player and id like him here, id much rather see one of those guys mentioned above for a ton of reasons.

Yeah that's totally it. It looks so much like an Ozzie pick saying «hey idiots you let this guy fall, you're gonna feel it for sure» but at the same time there will be really nice options. I think Lattimore will be gone, I've cooled down on Wilson but my favorite right now is Watt, his ceiling is through the roof and he's got plenty of floor to warrant playing time as a rookie.

Wow? Or did he look bad. I'm assuming good cause I liked what I saw from the film he has great length

No he looks really good. Most have a 3rd round grade on him, but I would take him in the second without any second thought. He does make some mistakes but they're most usually mental. He's physically way more fluid than I thought he would be.

I probably shouldn't do this but I pay very little attention to a corners tackling ability. Which is weird because I graded Derek Barnett as a 2nd rounder originally because of his bad tackling... I should begin paying more attention to that

Well, I know many will say they're not supposed to do that, but in Wilson's case it's very problematic. Because if you throw a short quick pass to a Corey Coleman (first example that came to my head) against him, the Wr will easily pick up at least 5 yards, and very possibly more.

i do too. im definitely not the type who clamors for a physical press corner, i prefer guys who play zone and off-man with great instincts, anticipation, breaking speed, and ball skills. but marshon lattimore who doesnt fit my preferences for corner, looks special. i still like sidney jones a lot, and i was beginning to warm up to quincy wilson but hes definitely behind lattimore at this point for me.

sidney jones fits my personal preferences as a super fluid guy who plays all schemes at a high level, but lattimore is definitely a better talent.

Yeah after watching him again I'm not as convinced as I was before on Wilson. Particularly his tackling is horrid.

Conley was the best CB available to me in the 2nd round on Fanspeak's mock draft. How plausible is it that he is our pick in the 2nd?

I wouldn't count on it, I think he goes in the 1st, maybe very early 2nd.

One year exactly lol players that flash for one year cannot be deemed the best in the class. Especially against upperclassmen with a larger body of work.

One year is plenty enough to see how good a player is. That's not a factor for me honestly.

    read that as almost never

Why? He did it in college and even if he didn't you can learn to.

I think you gotta give that title to Sidney jones. Definitely think he's the best cover and ball skills package period, especially since he appears so scheme diverse, he does tight, off, and zone all very well.

Before anything else, have you watched Conley? Not intending to be mean, I just never read your opinion about him so I'd be interested. You know I'm a bit cold recently on Jones, really liked him coming into the season but going back to the tape he looked slow despite having fluid hips and definitely elite ball skills.

Conley is so quick in his movements and he's a bit more raw than Jones but his ceiling is huge.

Just looked at a bunch of tape of Gareon conley. He might have the best man to man cover skills in this class. The best part about him. He ALWAYS turns his head to locate the football. Rarely called for PI and that's something I covet in a corner. Too many guys put themselves in great position but never turn their head. The Texans were a prime example of that vs the patriots

Yes, Conley is the best pure cover corner, I haven't had the occasion to talk about him but when you talk about running stride for stride with a player and making a play on the ball, nobody does that as well as him. The reason why he's not the highest graded on my board is because his run defense and tackling is really a major concern for now.

Barnett is a top 6 guy by my count at the moment and I have no corners in the top 10 - Barnett would be a steal at 16 but I don't think there's even a chance it happens

also you're the first person I've heard put Lattimore in the discussion that high

Barnett is good we can all agree on that and he has it between the ears, but he's not a perfect prospect either. He lacks some explosiveness and his hands usage isn't elite either. There's room to grow.

After watching Wilson again and noticing how horrible a tackler he is, I'll put Lattimore as the best CB to come out in the last 3 years. I've yet to see a major flaw that would be hard to correct in his game. Only problem is that he played only one year.
