  1. I'm more of a trade down guy honestly. I know it sounds nice to go and get «your guy» but it's just not worth it imo. I mean we are one C, pass rusher and CB from being elite. This class is so good at either position, it's now or never. We could walk away with a younger and very complete roster, after 3 years of rebuilding. I know it would be nice and all to have a «special» player but there's a difference between being audacious and impatient and in this precise draft class it would mean the latter to trade the house for one guy.
  2. Orr is very poor in coverage but one of the best run defenders in the league at the position. He has instincts and is a tackling machine, the Pats game is a good example. It's a bit surprising but still glad for him to see him get the nod.
  3. Harris was a 2-star recruit, so to have the hand usage and pass rush moves varity that he has speaks for itself. And while the main problem with him is his stiffness, the fact that he has this absurd spin move makes up for it. While most ED try to win outside and have an inside counter move to keep OTs guessing, Harris does the opposite. He has just what he needs to win outside if the OT overcommits inside.
  4. To me he's a legit top5 talent, he's the most complete prospect outside of Garett and perhaps Allen.
  5. I'd say the opposite is possible. Taco could be a good trade back option and there's a very reasonnable chance that White is there for our 2nd pick.
  6. Well I actually saw a mock draft where he ended up to us. It's purely impossible imo but if we get him it's absurd value, so much that you can't refuse.
  7. Probably the best feet of the class, can mirror anybody and his backpedal is second to none. His cover skills are through the roof, but he's shaky when the ball is in the air, not always playing the ball, and can get to scrappy at times. He could have been 1st round in another class, not this one. But he would be a great addition in round 2 as I believe Frazier can fix his problems.
  8. To me Dixon is the closest thing to Rice you could ask for...
  9. Curtis Samuel also.
  10. Hmm... Ok, I guess I'm a little confused myself. What you're saying is mostly right in fact, when I see Watt I fear that our staff sees another «hybrid» that they'll misuse. I'm not salty at all on Correa, I was very meh on the pick and described him as a «poor man's Noah Spence», (EDIT: I didn't want Spence btw, I wanted Alexander) but when I heard about his prowess in TC, I really didn't expect him to be given abysmal playing time in preseason and regular season. And that's my fear for Watt as well. I'm not a «fire Harbs and all his staff» guy (I actually advocated for Marty) but I don't trust Pees' creativity and his use of some of his players. Levine is another example. If we draft TJ Watt and use him strictly as an ED, I'm all in and I'll gladly say that I feared for nothing though. That is actually true and I didn't think about it, but still I don't see why he didn't get opportunities to prove himself on the edge when we were thin wirh Doom out and ZDS being a non factor.
  11. I'm not sure we understand each other but what I meant is that because Watt has the IQ and can occasionnally drop back in coverage we're gonna try to make him a blitzing ILB where we could have an, NFL ready 3 down OLB, which would be a travesty.
  12. Who are you taljing about? Because Watt has one of the best IQ you could ask for.
  13. Well Correa did most of his work on the edge, and Watt drops in coverage and rushes from an interior position occasionally. I'm not criticizing the player by saying that, I'm criticizing how Pees and Harbs are going to seedo him.
  14. Or give him the Correa treatment... Yes, against the run he has the leverage and the power to completely push back OTs even though he lacks a bit in length. Also, the way he's used at Wisconsin makes me uncertain about how we would use him.
  15. I'll add to that that he's the best run defender in the class and by a mile. My concern is that with his awareness and IQ we try to convert him to an ILB and it fails miserably...
  16. Dixon's case is a little pariculiar given the year and the treatment he's had, but yes I figured you would bring that up. My point is, RB is one of the most important positions but there's a reason why teams rarely draft a RB early, and that's because it's one of the easiest transition at the next level. A lot of good RB prospects are good in the pros, while very little elite ED or CB were not taken in the 1st or 2nd round. Howard was a very good prospect, but had only one year of playing at Indianna and had the advantage of running behind a very good OL, by the way.
  17. Jordan Howard went 4 rounds after Eliott and had as good a season as Eliott. It's been proven year after year that you can get talented RB in any rounds. Taking a RB in the first round can pay huge dividends but if you have bigger needs it's a priority to adress them before RB.
  18. I've taken time to study him. I'll make a more precise report on him when I'll be able to, but to make it short yes, he has first round traits. Still not sure I'd want him at 16 but as a trade back option he's up there with the best.
  19. Oh cool, I didn't know him when I saw him pop all over the tape when I was watching Sprinkle. Thought he was a freshman on their team.
  20. Is he eligible?
  21. No I'm comparing them because in terms of production Spence has proven absolutely nothing to make me regret him. He had good not great production, but as a prospect we're talking about a guy who had off the field issue AND horrible interviews AND a disappointing combine. So no, passing on Spence is not an issue. Asking for A+ characters is the reason this draft class in general is working out, and if even half of them doesn't it still a draft for the ages. Meanwhile we screwed up big time on guys like Kindle or Cody who were the Noah Spence of their draft.
  22. Basically, you're another guy being upset for not taking Spence (who for crying out loud just had 5,5 sacks, the same as ZDS his rookie season). Because otherwise this draft is the best we've had in potentially the last 8 years. I don't think people had the same reaction when Terrance Cody and Sergio Kindle were here. They certainly were talented.
  23. Charlton is a guy that we're in a bad position to take. I think he goes 25/35, too late for our 1st but too early for our 2nd.
  24. http://draftbreakdown.com/2017-nfl-draft-early-preview-of-the-cornerback-class/ If you still wonder why this CB class is considered so deep.
  25. I think he is. A lot will be determined from now on in the process, but this class is so loaded with defensive talent that a one year starter, no matter how talented, can definitely be there in the middle of the first.
