  1. IMO our best look is a purple jersey, white pants and the black helmet with the raven on each side. To me that look is pure class.
  2. I think that picking up a player cut by another team should depend on whether the Ravens would be a better team with that player than with the player they would cut to make room on the roster.
  3. We are solid at all three of those positions.
  4. I think both make the team.
  5. Correa has flashed some impressive skills. With more experience he should develop better consistency. He would benefit greatly from playing the entire game against the Saints.
  6. Jernigan can be such a bonehead !
  7. Control the line of scrimmage consistently and eliminate pre-snap penalties.
  8. I saw them on Comcast. If you ever see their coverage I would be curious what you think.
  9. Both Gerry Sandusky and Stan White leave much to be desired. They often call the wrong players during their coverage. Sandusky and White didn't know that defensive holding is a five yard penalty. After watching a few games on the NFL network it shows me that other cities get much better local game coverage than Baltimore does.
  10. I am looking forward to see if Mike Wallace and Chris Moore can establish a vertical passing attack with Flacco. I want to see if Terrance West can continue his strong play. I want to see how Stanley handles the Panthers pass rush. On defense I want see who amongst ZDS, Correa, Zudon and Ochi can provide some pass rush. I want to see Eric Weddle be a leader in our defensive backfield. Honestly I am anxious to see the Ravens play football, each and every one of them.
  11. I agree with you. If we use Smith to replace Upshaw I see improved coverage skills and a stronger pass rush to help our defense get better.
  12. Willie Brown was a very good player. He had 54 career interceptions and went to 9 pro bowls. I think you were thinking of Larry Brown.
  13. Ben Watson will bring class, character and a strong work ethic. He will be a valuable contributor this season.
  14. I have to agree with you on Elam being a disappointment after his strong play at the University of Florida, but my biggest disappointment was offensive tackle Leon Searcy. In 2001 Searcy signed a 6 year 31 million dollar contract. He had a tricep injury in training camp and never played in a regular season game for us. He was cut before the 2002 season.
  15. Just say no to Johnny Football !
  16. I grew up with the Baltimore Colts as my team. I was a season ticket holder when they left. It hurt deeply when the team packed up and moved to Indianapolis. Over the years the pain has diminished but I still have animosity toward the Irsay family. I recognize they had the right to move, it was a business decision. At the time the team was not good and was not getting strong support from the community. I wish Irsay would have left the Colt name and team history behind when he snuck off in the middle of the night. I am now thrilled to have the Ravens as my team !
  17. I think the job goes to Camp and Reynolds goes to the practice squad if Camp can stay healthy. I do realize that is a major IF.
  18. Good choice, Bennie Thompson was all out hustle.
  19. My favorite Raven is Jermaine Lewis. He provided us with so many exciting plays. Jermaine could really fly.
  20. You bring up an excellent point. We could do a much better job of developing our schemes to take advantage of the specific skills of our players.
  21. Carr is entitled to his opinion even though we don't agree. Considering he was drafted number one he should be an expert on being overrated.
  22. The dead money ( unamortized bonus ) for Monroe that totals 6.6m will be there regardless if he cut him now or next year. It will count against our cap eventually. Cutting him now saves the 6.5m salary for 2016. IMO saving the 6.5m makes a lot of sense.
  23. The team has the right to cut Eugene Monroe . The FO obviously feels he was not worth the additional $6.5m they would have to pay him for 2016. It is a business decision.
  24. We saved $ 6.5m, the dead money ( unamortized bonus ) is there as soon as his contract was signed. What we save is his 2016 salary. $ 6.5m is too much to pay for a backup OT who is an injury risk.
