  1. That's what I'm trying to say: I think that video I posted goes into more depth about their process than we knew before. There's three grades (playing, health, and character) that are turned into one final score.
  2. Honestly, I think it depends on how well we do those two years. One Super Bowl win, and fans will probably say it was worth it. Two more seasons behind Cincinnati, and probably not. I don't know if that makes them right or wrong. But I think that's how it would play out.
  3. Of course not. But at the very least we could be looking for the same things as the front office. I don't think we were in general.
  4. I think this video explains it in a way that I haven't seen on the boards. They're talking about Stanley vs Tunsil, but I think it's relevant here too. Right around 2:50 they menion there's three different grades: a football grade, a medical grade, and a character grade. And the team combines those for an overall score I guess. There's no way Myles Jack had a high score if "medical grade" is even close to 1/3 of the equation. Frankly, I think that grading system is why the boards were so off on a lot of our picks. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Instant_Reaction_To_Ravens_Picking_Ronnie_Stanley/9fc8356a-17de-46ca-a635-ca3478291c54
  5. Well, to be fair it was something of a mixed bag. Ozzie did say we would have taken him at a certain point. It was just much later, after the second round/beginning of the third I think. So we did have some hope for the knee, just not as much as Jacksonville. So I guess there was a moment on the phone when we had to decide whether he was a 2nd-pick-or-not-at-all guy. Considering our recent plague of injuries, I see why we moved on.
  6. This is pretty much what I'm expecting. In general, this draft class seems like it's going to replace the 3 and 4 year guys who haven't made an impact yet. It's going to be difficult, but that seems to be the way Harbaugh likes it. I could see us taking 3 QBs depending on Flacco. But there's enough time between now and the regular season that maybe it won't come to that. I count 8 potential pass rushers? Suggs, Dumerville, Correa, Smith, Judon, Jernigan, Henry, Kaufusi? That's certainly a change.
  7. He has two knees. Right now I can't say the same for Perriman. I think the team WANTS Perriman to be #3 or 4. But it's hard to say he is right now.
  8. Moore does seem like he has the toughest chance. On the other hand, I could see him already being the 5th guy on our roster behind SSSr, Wallace, Aiken, and Perriman. He may even be above Perriman.
  9. Good data, thanks for looking it up. This year could be a bit different because there's five of them. But yeah, I'd say we're on the right track that most of them will be around.
  10. Every time I heard someone from our front office say "chance to compete" I thinking "replace a guy we're done with". I think guys like Byrd, Asa, Campanaro, Taliaferro, Hurst, Arrington, and probably Guy and/or Urban are on the bubble. We needed them to step up last year. They didn't. So even if everyone comes back healthy (won't happen) I still think most of these guys make the roster. I think Dixon is already our #2 back, and Young our nickel. I'm guessing Henry replaces Canty, partly because Williams is in the last year of his contract. But it could be another person as well. Correa is Upshaw's replacement. And of course Stanley makes it. I think Lewis, Canady, and Moore have the most work to do. But injuries probably speed up their progression a lot. I really don't know where Kaufusi fits in, just that he does. Same with Judon. Navy cadets usually have a five year commitment after graduating. As a taxpayer, I'm going to feel ripped off if we see Reynolds this year.
  11. Ochi is still out there?! Wow. I'm also big on Matakevich.
  12. Man, I don't know about Reynolds. Huge character choice, I'm sure. But a small dude with no position, with Lawler still on the board? I don't get it.
  13. I'm REALLY confused. Did he get is 4 years of military service waived?????
  14. He's still there. And Matakevich if you're curious.
  15. If you were going to try to tailor our defense to beat Pittsburgh, this is pretty much how it would go.
  16. Willie Henry and Kenneth Dixon were our comp picks in the 4th.
  17. It really looks like we're going 4-3 next year, with a lot of Nickel. In that perspective, these guys make sense.
  18. Heh. "Buds". heheh.
  19. Eugene Monroe is on the phone with Mayflower right now.
  20. Good! Let one of our 22 TEs run the short routes.
  21. I never offered one? Not sure what you mean.
  22. Possible, I'd have to see more team boards to agree or disagree. Only reason I mention it is DeCosta said something aout getting two first rounders. Based just on our draft room, I think we may have. But the guys on TV won't see it that way.
  23. Oh I see, gotcha. I think it might have been. I know a lot of sites had him in the top 40. I think we really might have had a first round grade on him.
  24. So you don't have a problem with us taking the guy we want over the guys we don't want. Okay, cool. But then you can't assume there really were several better options at that point. We got the guy we wanted. If we wanted those other guys we would have taken them.
  25. We didn't want Spence. I'm not convinced we wanted Jack, either. But very clearly without question we didn't want Spence. It's that simple. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-draft/Ozzie-Newsome-Explains-Passing-On-Myles-Jack-And-Noah-Spence/1686b7a2-423e-4259-b6ae-f530a2bdec67
