Well our two ILBs would be essentially the leaders of the defense and I think we take at least one more probably Cyrus Jones.

Value wise it's hard justifying Ragland at #6 though and his selection would require trading down, which has more inherent variables than I'm prepared to consider as opposed to just getting a guy with our 1st, whoever that guy might be. He would be awesome successor to Daryl Smith.
Think we may have to change our name to Alabama North.
8 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:buckner has been called a top 5 talent on more than one occasion, its not a consensus view though. i think the chargers are a big time sleeper to take him, he is the kind of guy who could usher in a new era for a struggling 3-4 defense and become the face of it. and that pick would certainly give us a better chance at landing one of the big names like bosa or ramsey.
also, trading back is much easier said than done. if the niners make it clear theyre sticking with kaepernick then we have absolutely zero leverage, and as of now thats what it looks like.
Chargers maybe, but if I had to bet it would be the Jags. Him and Fowler would be great for them and I see them signing Weddle or another veteran safety and the Chargers taking Ramsey as Weddle's replacement. Can only see the Browns taking a QB in the top 5 and I hope it is Wentz leaving Goff to see if the Rams will panic and try to make a splash and keep a California boy at home. Philly is a possible wildcard obviously depending on Bradford.
No Oakman? lol jk. Think I like Thompson more than you do. I only see us getting Coleman, Boyd or Fuller in the second round from tier 3. And probably only Yannick from tier 4.
17 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:most 3-4 ends dont play a role like donald because they are in a 3-4...
asking a 3-4 end to get double digit sacks regularly is asking for disappointment, however i fully believe buckner is capable of 7-8 sacks, double digit TFL, and good number of batted passes, all the while occupying blockers regularly, which is an elite level performance from a 2 gapper.
having a 3-4DE who never has to rotate and can 2 gap, pass rush, anchor, crash, and swat the ball all at a moderately high level is something that is becoming more valued by 3-4 defenses, and for good reason. a 3-4 usually calls for a versatile front, lots of moving parts and disguised intentions, having a guy who never has to come off the field and can perform any of those tasks well can really allow for more creativity and confusion, which is what the 3-4 is built on. you seem to have one specific prototype of DT and you just dislike any player that doesnt fit that prototype. for a 3-4 defense, a guy like buckner could be every bit as valuable as aaron donald is to a 4-3, because they are both perfect examples of what you look for in that position, that doesnt make one better than the other, just makes them different.
You really think Buckner can do all that because if he could I don't know how he falls to us at 6. I personally believe that if Ramsey and Bosa are gone then we need to trade down and pick up at least 3 additional picks.
Too bad almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. LOL.
I would be very disappointed if we went LT at 6 yes it is important, but we can not go into the season not taking some kind of playmaker with our first pick. Protecting Flacco is important, but having people to get the ball is important too. And from my understanding Stanley's work ethic has come into question do you really want someone like that protecting your franchise QB. We also have a defense that can not stop a nose bleed atm. People will point out they played better down the stretch, but that was without the pressure of a playoff run. You can disagree with me if you want, but I will not change my mind on this subject.
Just wondering who do you have going 1-5?

I know I would be putting an Ozzie statue up on my lawn the day after the draft if this happens.

Not official, offical.
On an off topic note: it seems Calvin Johnson has retired. Surprised that he actually went through with it.
Just now, Ravensfan23 said:Yes. When coaches want to see those DL they think could be LBs. Bosa will certainly be put in pass coverage drills
Thank You.
Ok lets say we do not take a WR with our first pick. It is now the second round only Treadwell is off the board and we are now on the clock which WR would you choose?
I forget at the combine do DL players get to do drills that LBs do? Love to see Bosa going through LB drills.
Yea I doubt they would take Treadwell over Ramsey in this senario imo.
This is how things could shake out at the top of the draft and a few of our picks:
1. Titans- Tunsil- Protect Mariota period.
2. Browns- Whichever QB the football gods hate.
3. Chargers- Ramsey- Replacement for Weddle.
4. Cowboys- Bosa- replacement for Hardy.
5. Jaguars- Buckner- Him and Fowler and I think they believe Ramsey doesn't slip to them and sign Weddle or another veteran safety.
6. Ravens- Spence- ideally I would like us to trade down with the Rams and pickup their 2 2nd rounders and their first next year and then take Spence- this is of course assuming there are no problems and he performs well at the Senior Bowl and the Combine.
2nd Round- Boyd
3rd Round- Dahl
4th Round- Cyrus Jones
There it is my mock draft. Please be gentle while mocking it.
So how many guys are we going to get from the Senior Bowl:
Spence- I have come around on him I understand he has a past, but from all accounts he has cleaned up his life(Tyrann Mathieu anyone.) Yes he was taken in the 3rd round but he also was fresh off a suspension unlike Spence and we are not strangers to taking a player with a questionable past. Ideally unless he has an incredible combine and skyrockets up the draft board I would love to move down to the Rams pick and pick up their 2 2nds and 1st next year.If not I would not complain if we took him at 6.
Shepard or Miller- both look good hopefully in the 3rd if they are there and we don't pick up a WR in the 2nd.
Cyrus Jones- I really like him I know he is undersized, but I like his instincts and desire. 4th round maybe.
Dahl- Looked good maybe the 3rd or 4th.
I am sure there are many others, but hopefully we can grab a few of these guys.

Yes but I can only have this box at the bottom of the page on this section of the forums. If I go to the NFL draft forum and click on let's say " Who should we take at #6?" There is not box at the bottom of the page in which to type, there is not option to quote previous posts like there are in this one section of the forums.

Sorry but I am not understanding what you are saying. I do not have anywhere to type a response to a topic at the bottom of any topics or forums except for this one. So I can not get anything approved by the moderator.

I think it's time for a little mission impossible:
The mission: Bug the Ravens Facility.
We need to get the entire place wired for video and sound especially the war room and Ozzie's office. Who is with me. Hold on a second ::knock at the door:: Oh it's the FBI looks like I'm in trouble.
