I somewhat prefer Alexander but I kind of look at them as equally talented. I know they are two different players but as far as who I'd rather have its just a toss up for me

This is where I am with these two either one can turn into a shutdown CB or be a gigantic liability.

Just read the article on the home page- I'm kinda shocked that Kiper doesn't think that Spence or Buckner are distinct possibilities. He seems pretty set on us taking Stanley.

Kind of funny all 4 NFL.com writers have us taking 4 different players: Stanley(don't agree with), Ramsey(my choice), Bosa, and VH3.

  3. I definitely am worried about Smith's knee I know they are saying he will be ready for the start of the season, but you never know and the comparisons to Gurley are not right. Gurley was injured months before Smith and he still missed several games and we have seen what a knee injury can do to a number one pick, not saying he can't come back by the start of the season, but is it worth the risk and if we want to make him into an OLB then it will take time to adjust to a new position on a new team with new coaches in his ear and if we don't move him then he doesn't solve an immediate need which is coverage and pass rush.

I love that Mock Draft! If we got Ramsey or Buckner at #6 I'd be a happy camper, especially because both could immediately hit the field. I just hope that Pees gets creative with Ramsey if we do take him, some kind of three safety scheme would be great.

Yea and I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility because the titans need a tackle, Browns need a QB obviously, Chargers probably go BPA and that is more than likely Bosa especially after what happened with Von Miller not saying hes him, but this is a copycat league, Cowboys could go several different ways, but as long as that's not Ramsey or Buckner doesn't really matter and Jaguars need pass rush along with secondary, but I think they take Buckner and pair him with Fowler and get someone like Weddle in free agency because I believe they have a good amount of money to spend.

    Spence.

Now spence vs. Buckner Is a little more difficult to say.

I say Spence, but I am warming up to Buckner. The pitfall I see with taking Buckner is that it is not a direct need, would he be an upgrade from Urban and Davis, yes, but the problem is our pass rushers are old and hurt so who is going to be getting to the QB on a consistent basis? That being said I wouldn't be totally disappointed with taking Buckner just not my first choice and will depend on who we get in the rest of the draft.

  6. I like all three the first 4 picks are exactly the positions we need to take the order I think will depend on how the first 5 picks shake out. Love Cyrus Jones and Tyler Matakevich(two of my favorite prospects in this draft.) The 3rd one I like the least and I am pretty much even on the first two, but I don't see Miller making it to the 3rd round. I think he will perform really well at the combine and his stock is going to skyrocket, probably early second to even late first if a team feels they can take that sort of risk. Also with him the 40 is going to be important, but I have a feeling the gauntlet will make or brake him, just a gut feeling.

I disagree there's plenty of Interior lineman that go top ten that aren't even established pass rushers coming out of college, and based on Buckner's senior year I'd say he's a better pass rusher than Leonard Williams, and frankly he is a better prospect coming out of college than Watt was, you can't compare Buckner in college to Watt in the NFL, Watt is gonna go down as one of the best to ever play at any position, so just stop the whole "not in the same league as watt" thing because there is not one person in the NFL on the same level as Watt.

Also Watt in college is not the Watt of now.    If he was no way he would go 11.  Watt has transformed himself into the best defensive player in the league so that is not a great comparison for basically anyone.  If we take Buckner I would not expect Watt, but if he is close that would be pretty awesome.

it is nearly impossible to find good highlights of defenders on youtube, all the highlight channels have sold out and scrapped quality content for red filters and flashing strobe light effects, and they just sync up big hits with bass drops and dont show anything with any depth.

JustBombsProductions though, the rare highlight channel that does it right, no soundtracks, shows full plays in depth, unfortunately though he posts pretty infrequently compared to harris and he seems to favor offense quite a bit.

they do have some actual film on youtube though, vs OreST. and OHST and MSU and i believe he has film there against hawaii as well, pretty well rounded look, showing some of his better performances along with his worst performance of his junior year, and a younger look at him in the championship so you can see his growth. you can get a real solid grasp on buckner by spending a half hour watching those.

    Thank You.

recently from the rumor mill of walter football, which i will definitely take with a grain of salt... the jags are focused on the front seven rather than the secondary for their first round, with bosa and buckner being the names in play.

i dont see it, not even a little bit. their secondary is so god awful and they are pretty darn close up front, buckner would be a beautiful fit to be the 3tech inside of fowler in their 46-esque front seven, but they also have sen'derrick marks(im not familiar with his contract situation) and jared odrick who can both fill that 3-tech role effectively, meanwhile they dont have a single DB on their roster worthy of stepping on an NFL field, i just dont see them passing on ramsey and continuing to beef up the front seven, but if that rumor is true at all then it is a nice break for us, i still think ramsey could possibly be the best case scenario for us

Yea saw that too can't deny it made me hopeful.

Doesnt Matter, they will want to start grooming him now so he can learn behind romo. Smart Teams knock out issues ahead of time. And they dont Believe they will be picking this high again for quite some time. If You Have a shot at afuture franchise qb and your current qb is 38 years old With back issues- you take it. The hype around wentz Will only grow the closer we get to the draft, Jerry wont Be able to resist. He is already  who everybody is talking about after the senior bowl.

Romeo is 35, not that it truly matters, but like I said I agree they probably need to draft a QB at 4 I just don't see it happening.

I could see Dallas taking someone to replace Greg Hardy.  I'm sure they'd take Bosa, I think they'd take Buckner.  But my real fear is that they do trade back to get Ezekiel Elliott to take the pressure off of Romo.  We'd lose a potential trade partner, but maybe that just puts even more pressure on someone else to trade up as well.

Hopefully they are looking at Henry in the 2nd.

their team has few weaknesses though. sure it might not be the most likely scenario, but it shouldnt be discounted at all. they may want an edge rusher, they may want an insurance plan for sean lee and take myles jack, they may want buckner for marinellis front 4, but they could just as much want a qb at 4, the value is plausible on all of those suggestions and all the moves make sense.

also, as its been stated before, teams who want a qb, take their qb. and its not about "is he ready to make a playoff run right now", but if romo goes down this year, can they still compete, and do they have a plan for the future, win now mode doesnt necessarrily mean they have to win a super bowl this year and if they dont then its a bust. if they draft wentz or goff and he pans out, they are in another 4-5 year window of opportunity at minimum.

All true just don't see them taking a QB, but that's just me.  I agree they need to probably draft one of them at 4 just don't see it actually happening, but I've been wrong before and will be wrong again.

Spence, Fuller, and then Shepard in the 3rd is the most I'm hoping for; I'd be very happy with that and it seems realistic.

Your last sentence reminds me of something:  if we don't get Ramsey (Hargreave, or Alexander) in the first, there's maybe Apple, Fuller, and Burns in the 2nd.  I'm not sold there's a backup Spence in the 2nd without some good luck.

And Cyrus Jones in the 3rd.

the more i look at it, the more i think id be ok with him at 6. if there is no bosa or ramsey, then i dont see any other players who i would have clearly ranked higher than spence based on performance alone. i think stanley, treadwell, and hargreaves are all in that conversation, but i dont know if i would have them any of them as "better" prospects than spence, in terms of talent and what they bring to the team they are all pretty equal.

Yea I think if we don't take spence that a couple of years down the road that we will go back and say "man we had the chance to take him." Assuming Bosa and Ramsey are gone.

contrary to popular belief though, jerry is no dummy in the draft, im not sure if he handles the draft, but whoever handles that, is no dummy. im sure they understand that there is no "win now mode" if you dont have a qb, romo has been very beaten up and i dont think they trust him to stay on the field for a full 20 games if theyre aiming for a super bowl.

you also cant count out that one team is sold on wentz, goff, or lynch and wont settle for the 3rd. its been done with crappier qb prospects before, cough tebow.

But do you think Dallas thinks that one of these guys are ready day one much less ready for a playoff run.  I don't believe that so I think they go with someone that can contribute right away and grab a QB later in the draft.
