In my opinion there are three players at six that can change our team on and off the field. Those are Ramsey, Jack and VH3. All three of them bring incredible skill sets and I believe leadership to our defense and our team that we have been missing since Ray Lewis retired and Ed Reed left. Weddle is a definite great addition and will also help in these areas, but I think that if you have an opportunity to draft another great talent and a player that can have a even greater impact on the way you play defense then I think you have to end up with one of them.
Ramsey and Jack more than likely won't be there at six, so that leaves VH3 and I would be very happy with that. VH3 may not be the "ideal" size for a cornerback, but I believe that he has the athleticism, football IQ and ball skills to be an outstanding corner and would excel within our system and under the coaching of Leslie Frazier. Also now that it looks like Weddle and Webb will be our safeties I think we are going to be running a lot of two deep safeties with would give VH3 more freedom to use his excellent ball skills to get interceptions, which we have sorely lacked the last two seasons, giving the defense and the offense a boost.
Some will site a couple of bad games down the stretch, but I don't think a few games should erase his whole career and if you look at other cornerbacks you will find bad games it is the nature of the position just like a quarterback throwing interceptions(see Goff throwing 5 in one game and still ranked in the top two), it is going to happen. I mean Patrick Peterson got toasted by the Panthers in the playoffs and Richard Sherman got beat by Kenny Britt and Case Keenum, does that mean they are no good, of course not, it happens, yes they were beat by NFL players not college, but like I said it's the nature of the position.
Like I said this is just my opinion, whether you agree with me or not.
Let me ask this, if Gurley and Peters were there at 26 last year who would you take? Just wondering because it seems will could be in a similar situation this year with Elliott and VH3(not saying they are the same players, but it is interesting having a possible choice between RB and CB.) To be honest I have no idea who I would want.

Fixed it for you. lol.
Busts: Stanley and Buckner(not a full bust, but will not be that great of a player.)

Yep.
16 hours ago, steelcityraven said:Well.... I still really think we are after Tunsil or Stanley in Rd.1! But if Biscotti is sincere... I think our draft looks very different. Round1. Patrick Ramsey - CB- FSU (insert and Start) Round # 2...William Jackson -CB- Houston (could also start and in a conference with AJ Green and Anotonio Brown, CBs are in high demand) Round 3. Shaun Oakman - DE -Baylor (giant-can add to the pass rush) Round 4. Malcolm Mitchell - WR -UGA (Stud WR if not for inj would be a 1st round pick and maybe top WR in this seasons draft- worth the pick here) Round 4 (from Lions) Travis Feeney - OLB - WASH (beast / freak pass rusher who could become the replacement for Suggs / Doom down the road) Round 5 (comp) Blake Martinez - ILB - Stanford (a jim harbs recruit who is a tackling machine and can help to replace DSmith and compliment CJ well) Round 6 Kolby Listenbee - WR /KR - TCU (speed to burn and can PR /KR) Round 6 (comp) Tyvis Powell -S - OSU (hitter with size / can grow under Leslie Frazier... has a lot of talent but also a very raw football player.). Round 7. Tayler Fallen - T- Memphis (Giant at 6'7" nearly 350 and can move fairly well) He will be an upgrade over Hurst and while a little bit of a project has enough ability to push Monroe for sure!
I can guarantee Patrick Ramsey will not be there.

Ozzie should squeeze in getting Mike Wallace, Brent Grimes, and Eric Weddle and he could be finish in free agency. If get 2 out of the 3 get Brent Grimes and Eric Weddle. Eric Weddle and Will Hill will be a perfect combo and better one than Webb and Will Hill. Webb could come in as substitute now and then rotate with Weddle. Then focus and getting Joey Bosa or Buckner in the draft to get us some young blood at Passrusher than the defense will be set for next year.
Looks like Grimes to Bucs and Weddle to Raiders.

Maybe or they changed their minds and will have them tradable this year that would be awesome.
3 minutes ago, January J said:So are the comp picks tradeable this year or not? I thought it was confirmed this would be implemented NEXT year. That comment was either misleading or I read it wrong.
Next year.
The shocker of the year: Johnny Manziel has been cut!

His 40 yard dash will never be forgotten, I mean he went "ballz out."
Just now, GrimCoconut said:Hurst moves to LT? Please don't say this ever again.
Think he meant LG, not positive.
What about Mike Neal don't know much about him, but I remember reading something that he may be a target for us as a pass rusher?
4 minutes ago, ellicottraven said:It's been reported that Kaepernik may have interest from Denver. He wants to be traded and he's made no bones about it. It is perceivable that SF has played him up recently as somebody they want to keep to boost his trade value too. So, if Denver makes a play for him, he likely goes to Denver leaving SF with just Blaine Gabbert. Also, Trent Baalke and Horse Elway are reportedly friends. As for Philly, they only signed Bradford to a 2 yr deal. It was almost a prove it type of deal. So, it makes sense for them to grab 1 of 2 top QBs to learn behind Bradford for a year or two.
Philly also signed Chase Daniel to a 3 year deal.
Looks like it's bye KO, Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, Buckner and VH3 and hello Ronnie Stanley.
13 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:I said that I find Nkemdiche's comment pretty minor, so I obviously agree that it's pretty minor in comparison. I don't place much stock in that, but if you put stock in rumors about Stanley's love of football I don't see how you can't put stock in that. I personally don't care about that, honestly. I'm glad you said the truth about preferring a defensive player over Stanley. I have no problem at all with that comment because I feel that's the true opinion you have and that you were minimizing Stanley as a way to justify taking a defensive player. You need not do that here because I would love to have Bosa, Ramsey, or even Jack and have them higher than Stanley. I'm just against the idea of throwing mud at one guy to justify another.
One argument for Stanley is that we just invested into Joe and we may not want to risk that financial investment with the oft-hurt Monroe. I'd love to come out of this draft with someone like Spriggs, though. The Ravens are better at this than either of us, and I trust them to get it right more than we will. I'm personally hoping for Bosa and a guy like Spriggs in the second, but that may not happen. I do like that combo better than Stanley & an OLB available in the 2nd, though.
What about Stanley's run blocking, that OK to question, haven't really looked, but I know it was a concern for some analyses and if we want to run to set up the pass which is the best route to go, to take the pressure off Flacco and open up the deep shots. Will he be able to effectively in the run game?
4 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:Bosa, Ramsey, and others considered at the top of their position groups "had nothing to prove" but participated anyway. I normally have a problem with guys skipping the Combine entirely, a la Treadwell. I'm also not very concerned about Tunsil, but let's not pretend like he doesn't have his warts. There's that comment by Nkemdiche that supposedly indicated he was in the same hotel room. That's a cause for concern. I find it minor personally, but still.
And no, I can and will change my mind with evidence. You just haven't supplied me anything tangible to make me change my mind. My point is we don't know if Stanley loves football or not. I've heard those rumors, but he participated at the Combine. As I said to JoeyFlex5, I don't want a guy who doesn't love football so if he doesn't and we deem that in interviews then I hope we don't draft him. I could care less if we take Stanley or not. I think that's my issue with your statements because you seem to be overly down on him and seem to be seeking reasons to vindicate your belief but you won't get such a conviction from me unless you provide me with evidence supporting it.
Just want to point out the irony of saying that because Nkemdiche said Tunsil was there doesn't mean it's true either, not the best source(before you say why would he say that, I think that guy would say anything to save himself,) and if he was there there is no prove he did anything, but hang out. Having said that I am probably attaching more to this because I would rather take a defensive playmaker than the less sexy LT even though it is important, but I also believe this is a crossroads of this franchise, one way we can end up fighting for the AFC North title and at least getting one of the wild cards which is where we love to be because our team unlike others travels well. The other way we could go is a team that is going to be picking in the top 15 at best. Our team is not getting any younger or less injured the core of our team is the wrong side of 30 and we need to have a great draft in order to just compete in our division because I don't know if we can beat the Steelers or the Bengals if we only have an OK draft and God help us if the Browns actually hit on a QB(as unlikely as that is, feel a little bad for Wentz or Goff.)
1 minute ago, GrimCoconut said:I honestly think you'll find whatever reason you want to not like Stanley. There's no secret here that I think highly of him and think he's close to Tunsil in terms of talent. I don't speculate on stuff of which I have little evidence, and I don't see the evidence to which you are suggesting. If you want to source me something, I'll look at it, though. Tunsil didn't even participate in any of those drills, so I don't understand what you're saying here.
Tunsil had nothing to prove though. He is considered the best LT and for many the best player in the draft that is the difference. But you can believe whatever you want to because nothing I say will convince you nothing you say will convince me.
16 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:Then I don't think we take him. I guess where I disagree with you guys is I don't judge a player on rumors I can't validate myself. So many lies exist rightI now.
I also base my opinion on actions, during his press conference he said he was dedicated to prove people wrong about him and he proceeds to only do some of the drills, no bench press, vert or broad jumps.
13 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:I'm not sure if he loves football or not. From a talent perspective he's close to Tunsil. Realize that he could've declared as a junior last year but stayed at school.
That could be a sign he doesn't want to play in the NFL too.
Personally I would rather have VH3 in this scenario, bigger need imo and I am not a big Buckner fan. I think he is a bit overrated, yes he is big, but I think he is going to have trouble with guards getting into his body because he is so tall and in football in most cases low man wins and I don't see him winning in those situations. People like to go to the Michigan game to discredit VH3, but no one seems to go to the Michigan State game to discredit Buckner, which was arguably his toughest competition and got manhandled in it I believe he had 2 assisted tackles and did not affect the passing game or running game. Some was double teams, but most was one on one.

Nope lol.

isnt the draft set to begin April 28th? Heading says 30th
