My first attempt at a mock draft...Let the mocking ensue.
1. Titans- Tunsil- Protect Mariota.
2. Browns- Wentz- Rising star, big and strong and is used to playing and living(don't underestimate this) in cold weather.
3. Chargers- Ramsey- Replacement for Weddle- I think I have reached the acceptance phase where I think there is little to no chance of getting him.
4. Cowboys- Bosa- Replacement for Hardy.
5. Jaguars- Buckner- Teaming him up with Fowler.
6. Ravens- Hargreaves- I know what your going to say, "it's a reach," thing is I don't know it is we are looking for a playmaker, a game changer, someone on defense that can create turnovers and I believe he fits the bill and is a potential shutdown corner back which is something our defense sorely needs. People will knock his height, but I think he makes up for it with his quickness, leaping ability and tenacity.
There are several options such as:
Stanley- my least favorite, yes LT is important, but we need playmakers and a playmaker with the 6th pick and there are questions about work ethic not what you want to hear about your 6th pick and protector of your franchise QB.
Jack- Not sold on him, I don't know it's just a gut feeling and coming off a knee injury, I know it was not as serious as an ACL tear, but we just had our 1st round pick miss the year because of a "not that serious" injury.
Smith- Same thing as Jack, but with a much more serious knee injury, and probably would have him change positions, may end up missing the year or having an ineffective year.
Treadwell- Don't think he is worth it here and there will be many quality receivers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
Spence- Was definitely torn between him and Hargreaves, but I think with the off the field issues are too much for us to take him(I don't agree, but I think that is how it will go.)
7. 49ers- Jack- Potential great partnership with Bowman- I think Kaepernick is the starter.
8. Dolphins- Alexander- Need a corner and Grimes is getting up there in age.
9. Buccaneers- Ogbah- Probably a reach but had a hard time picking for them.
10. Giants- Robinson- Need to create some pass rush and maybe they keep JPP which would be a bonus for them.
11. Bears- Stanley- copied Walter Football lol.
12. Saints- Spence- Their secondary is pretty bad, but none are worth taking and Spence gives that defense some much needed pass rush.
13. Eagles- Lynch- Even if they resign Bradford and can seat for a year or two.(Aaron Rogers anyone?)
14. Raiders- Smith- Maybe he is ready for the start of the season or will only miss a couple of games, could be a great partnership with Mack.
15. Rams- Goff- What dumb luck they get their guy without trading down.
16. Lions- Treadwell- Replacement for Megatron.
17. Falcons- Billings- A force up the middle.
18. Colts- Conklin- It's about time they start protecting Luck.
19. Bills- Ragland- Will probably play OLB.
20 Jets- Elliott- In dire need of an every down back and he has could be a great one.
21. Redskins- Reed- Adding to that pass rush
22. Texans- Nkemdiche- Another piece for that defense.
23. Vikings- Coleman- Need to get some weapons to help Bridgewater develop.
24. Bengals- Miller- Think they look at their team and say the risk is worth it.
25. Steelers- Kendall Fuller- Need to help that secondary.
26. Seahawks- Apple- Struggled on the other side of Sherman.
27. Packers- Thomas- Seen what happens to Rogers when he doesn't have weapons.
28. Chiefs- Washington- Shined at the Senior Bowl.
29. Cardinals- Bullard- Also taken from Walter Football.
30. Panthers- Decker- Need to protect Cam.
31. Broncos- Will Fuller- Why not add a weapon for Brock to throw long to.
Second Round:
Boyd- He may turn out to be the best receiver in the class. Love is ability to go up and get the ball which is something that Flacco loves to do just heave it up and let his receiver go up and get it.
Third Round:
Ngakoue- At this point we need to get a pass rusher and I think he is just the player we need and he played for Maryland.
Fourth Round:
Cyrus Jones- One of my favorites it the draft I mean from Maryland and went to Alabama I mean has there been a more perfect pairing for us. Great returner which we are in dire need of and I think he could develop into a good nickel corner.
Joe Dahl- We have to hope Monroe can stay healthy, which you can say for most of the team, because I don't see us signing KO and develop Dahl into our future LT.
Matakevich- My other favorite player. Not very athletic, but has great instincts and is not afraid to tackle and tackle and tackle.
Higgins or Wilson- Can't decide which good analysis by JoeyFlex5 on Higgins, but another giant redzone threat in Wilson wouldn't hurt.
Sixth Round:
Reynolds- Could be a reach, but I like his versatility, could play RB or slot receiver and a possible trick play here and there and I just like him and his leadership. By the way it is terrible that he was not invited to the combine.
Well there it is in all it's glory, some picks probably don't make sense, but I did my best. Please be gentle with taking this mock draft apart.
